Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Vincent Advancement

The recreation room was buzzing with excitement as a small party was underway. Vincent, the cocky easy going fated, stood at the center of attention, a huge grin spreading across his face.

Yesterday he had finally taken the next step, unlocking all his options and spinning the third wheel. The wheel landed on the Mythical Profession of "Captain". Making he a "Fortuned", a step above fated. Promotion in fate chart, meaning promotion on this job to.

The room erupted in cheers and applause as Vincent's friends and acquaintances congratulated him on his achievement.

The party was a lively gathering, with all of the Fated from the barracks in attendance. Syal scanned the room, taking in the sea of faces. Many of them were unfamiliar to him, but he spotted a few acquaintances here and there. He's exchange pleasantries with Jacob. Joking around with Gabriel's. And talked with Annabel.

As he mingled and chatted with the other guests, Syal couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the number of Fated and the number of Fortuned. Out of the roughly thirty people in attendance, only four of them were Fortuned - individuals who had transcended fated.

Vincent, and Colonel of course, was on this rank. Syal wondered who the other two Fortuned are, and what abilities they possessed. He wants to get closed by not have any valid reason.

The party may have been a welcome distraction, but duty called, after few moments, the party is over and Syal need made his way to his meeting with Colonel. As he entered the room, he spotted Vincent, Jacob, and two other Fated he didn't recognize.

The first unknown Fated caught his attention due to the numerous flintlocks strapped around his black uniform. He was a young man, a head shorter than Syal, but his confident demeanor made up for his lack of height.

The second unknown Fated, however, was a different story altogether. His physique was terrible, with a lean and gaunt appearance that made him look like he was struggling to stay healthy. His pale skin, eye bags, and pimples only added to his unimpressive appearance.

Yet, despite his looks, this young man exuded an aura of confidence, like he was the center of the world. His eyes seemed to gleam with an inner intensity, and Syal couldn't help but feel a shiver run down his spine as their gazes met.

Colonel cleared his throat, drawing everyone's attention to the matter at hand. "Gentlemen, I trust you're all aware of the recent... developments. We have a situation that requires our attention, and I believe this team is the best equipped to handle it."

Of course like always Syal is the only guy who doesn't know or maybe out of touch with lastest news.

As a Fortuned, Vincent had earned the right to lead a small team of Fated and regular soldiers. Despite his recent promotion, he had accumulated enough experience to take on this responsibility.

Their mission was linked to Vincent and Syal previous mission, they encounter with the girl who had turn into a monster.

Intelligence suggested that she had joined a suspicious gathering, there individuals suspected with shared taboo knowledge.

After conducting a thorough investigation, discovered fact that this gathering was, in fact, a group of spies sent by the Fate Theocratic, a neighboring country that had long been at odds with their own nation.

The Fate Theocratic was notorious for its aggressive tactics and blatant disregard for the laws that governed the use of supernatural means. The fact that they were secretly gathering intelligence and spreading taboo knowledge within Nation country was a serious threat to national security.

Vincent's team had been tasked with a clear and deadly objective: to ambush the gathering and eliminate all of the Fate Theocratic's spies. It was a mission that required stealth, strategy, and ruthless efficiency.

The team had been assembled with this specific mission in mind. Each member had their unique skills and abilities, carefully selected to ensure the success of the operation.

Vincent, as the team leader, would provide overall tactical guidance and make key decisions during the mission, not to mention his absurd regeneration that surely enhance after become Fortuned. Syal, with his spirit skills, would take point and provide close-quarters to middle range combat support. The young man with the flintlocks, he's a fated with Neuron Core. Made him expert with hand to brain coordination, he would provide ranged firepower, while the lean, pale individual would use his... unique abilities to support the team. He is fated with energy core and also someone with little knowledge of world language. He armed himself with short staff, likely an artifact. It's the first time Syal meet someone with others power systems.

Jacob, with his regeneration and combat prowess, would provide cover and help to neutralize any threats that arose during the mission.

With their plan in place, the team set out to ambush the gathering, ready to strike without mercy and eliminate the Fate Theocratic's spies once and for all.

The Intel already state's where the gathering held. The preparation of this mission happen since few days ago and will take few days more if Vincent Advancement didn't happen.

As a Fortuned, Vincent was considered one of the elite, possessing abilities that far surpassed those of the Fated. The other three Fortuned had already been assigned to critical roles, shouldering heavy responsibilities that left them little room for additional missions.

Vincent, as the newly promoted Fortuned, was the only one with a relatively free schedule, making him the perfect candidate for this high-risk mission.

The gathering held at Abandoned building located on outskirts, crazy this place is close enough with the barracks, are spy now days so bold?.

Vincent's team moved stealthily through the abandoned building, their eyes scanning the dimly lit interior for any signs of danger. They had received intel that the gathering would be taking place here, and they had planned their entry carefully to avoid detection.

As they entered the main room, they saw the gathering members seated on the floor, their attention focused on the figure standing in the center of the room. He was preaching passionately, his words painting about a passionate lord who sacrifice himself for all sinned people. He speaks about that lord love is infinite. And bunch of religius brainwash.

Vincent's team counted around twenty people in the room, most of whom appeared to be ordinary citizens from their nation. However, three individuals stood out as anomalies. The buff guy standing beside the preacher seemed out of place, his physique and demeanor screaming "Fated". The girl sitting among the regular people, dressed in a long robe with some embroidery, also raised suspicions. Her attire was unmistakably from the Theocratic, and Vincent's team knew that she was likely a spy.

The preacher himself was the third anomaly. His words seemed laced with an otherworldly energy, and Vincent's team could sense that he was more than just a charismatic speaker. He was a Fated, and a powerful one at that.

"In three count, Syal, Jacob rush with me. Mark prepare cover shot for us. Lastly, Riski Chant something to immobilize all regular people. Ready?"

Vincent give his command to all his team.

Mark is name of Fated with gun while Riski is the fated that also uses world language.
