Chapter 7 - Changing sides

"Now, everyone shoots at the target." A woman instructed. All of the teenagers shoot an arrow at their target. Henry hits the bullseye. "Good, Henry. You hit the bullseye. I wouldn't expect anything less from Zane's son," The woman praises. "Yeah, I bet you wouldn't. Well, I'm going to see the elder." Henry said, walking away.

"Grandma Zayna, how are you?" Henry asked. "Well, my days are ending soon. So, it could be better." Zayna replied. Henry's face became confused for a few seconds. "Uhh, why did you summon me?" Henry asked worriedly. "I summoned you to tell you a story," Zayna stated. "Grandma, I don't need to listen to another story!" Henry exclaimed. "You're right, you need to find Prince Eris." Zayna seriously spoke. "What?" Henry asked confused. "Like I said, it's time for a story.

As you know, the war has been going on for over a thousand years. The first human Chief Elijah was born on Earth. He had spent a decade of his life trying to make a portal to other planets. After a decade of trying, he finally succeeded. Once he had landed in this world, he met a friend. That was Ellor. For seven months he stayed in the fairy world. But when he returned his dad was furious. His dad threatened to do unspeakable things to him and his children. So he did what his dad wanted. He raided this world, Magia Terra for the magic. That's the long story short." Zayna explained.

"What was the point telling me?" Henry asked, still confused about the situation. "The point is, oh I left this out. Ellor and Elijah died at the exact same time! Before Ellor died he used his power of prophecy. And it is about you and the fairy prince. Also, I know you are attracted to Eris." Zayna said grinning. "Pfft! Grandma just tell me the point of the story." Henry said, nervously trying to get to the point.

"Now the point of the story is that you don't have anything to lose if you leave now. The thing Elijah's dad threatened him with was his children. So like I said you need to leave now before it's too late, I already packed a bag for you." Zayna finally said. "Thanks, grandma. Henry puts on his cloak over the bag that Zayna packed for him. "Okay, I'm off see you soon Grandma," Henry said

"Where do think you're going?" Zane asked a few steps away from Henry. "To find Prince Eris." Henry deadpanned. "I won't approve it," Zane said, eyebrows frowning. "I don't need it," Henry responded. Henry was turning from the direction of his father, continuing to leave. His eyes widened as he felt something coming toward him. He quickly ducks and moves out of the way. "Dad, how dare you shoot an arrow at me!?" Henry stood up and asked, infuriated. "If you leave son, next time I won't miss," Zane said readying his bow with an arrow, eyes slowly becoming watery. "I never thought you and I would have to do this Dad," Henry said more to himself than to Zane.

Henry and Zane both pull out their sword. They run to each other with a battle cry and begin to strike. The swords clinked constantly. "Henry, you're staying," Zane said breathing heavily. "I said NO! Let's see how you like this arrow, Dad." Henry said as he dropped his sword and pull out his arrow. "Too late," Zane said as he threw his sword to Henry's leg. Henry screamed in pain as he bled. "You sliced my leg!" Henry exclaimed angrily.

"Enough!"

"I did not raise you like this, son." Zayna roared. I'm sor- no I'm not sorry to say this, but you're a bad father. You need to give Henry freedom." Zayna said trying to reason with Zane. "Mom, you won't stop me," Zane responded. Zayna faced frowned. "Zane Elijah Dubre, I'm your mother I brought you into this world and just because I look like an old hag doesn't mean I can't take you out of this world! He's leaving." Zayna demanded. "But mom I—" "No buts."

"He's leaving and that's final. Come here Henry, let me heal that." Zayna said after cutting Zane off. Henry glanced at Zane with what it seemed like hatred. Then he got up and limped over to Zayna.

"I'm off now," Henry said. "Bye, grandson!" Zayna said. "Bye, son." Zane hesitates to speak. "Grandma was right about you ya know, you are the worst father ever," he mutters before walking away.
