Chapter 60 - 10 Dignity

Reza looked at the battlefield in anger and disbelief, seeing his soldiers scattered in disarray. When he realized that the enemy had surrounded them, there was no point in continuing the fight as his plans were thwarted. He looked to the left, and there seemed to be no enemy troops blocking the road. Although he didn't like retreating, if he chose to stay, everyone would die here.

Reza said, "Retreat to the left." He jumped on his horse and his men began to follow him to the left.

Seeing that the enemy fell into a trap, Naksh and Jeet did not pursue to the left but rushed towards the center of the battlefield with their soldiers

On the foot of the bamboo hill on the right side of Hosha City, Hye, hiding behind the bamboo forest, sat on the ground drinking tea and looking down at the battlefield unfolding in the distance. Azad was annoyed because he's supposed to be on the battlefield, but he has to babysit Hye.

"I shouldn't be here," Azad complained. "I should be down there with the others."

Hye looked at Azad with a smile and said, "Your position is here, and this is an excellent place for you to practice."

Azad frowned and said, "I don't understand, why are we waiting here?"

Hye smiled and said, "If you want to catch the big fish, you have to be patient." He looked down and saw the first soldier running in their direction. He put the teacup on the ground and smiled at Azad. "Our big fish are coming our way."

Azad looked down and saw many Razaasia soldiers rushing toward them. He turned to his hundred soldiers and said, "Get ready, they're coming!"

The one hundred soldiers quickly stood up and prepared.

Hye looked at Azad and said, "Now, do you think we should kill those soldiers running towards us?"

Azad said, "Kill."

Hye sneered and said, "No wonder your father wants you to study. Your skills are absolutely zero."

Azad looked at Hye angrily, "I bet I can drop you down with less than five moves."

Hye turned to look at Azad and smiled. "You can only knock me down by yourself, but I can burn Salran Hill to the ground by myself. So, who do you think is smarter and stronger among us?" He pointed to the soldiers walking in front. "They are not the big fish we are waiting for. Killing them will only scare the big fish behind them. Besides, it is better to leave others alive and go back to tell other fish not to swim in our territory."

Azad looked down at the arrow rack, making sure the arrows were loaded, and then grabbed the handle of the arrow machine. He turned to look at Hye strangely and said with a smile, "You are an absolute psychopath."

Hye stood up, walked slowly towards a tree, and said, "That's why, I can talk the talk and walk the walk, but you can't."

Hye stood motionless behind the tree, looking down to see when the Razaasia leader would arrive. When he saw a large group of Razaasia soldiers on horseback heading in their direction, he turned around quickly. He looked to his right, then to his left, making sure the Magoli soldiers were ready. He held up two fingers on each hand and made the sign of a cross, then turned right and left, making sure the soldiers saw his gesture.

The Magoli soldiers nodded to Hye, understanding that when the Razaasia soldiers were twenty yards from their position, they would attack.

When Reza and his soldiers were still twenty yards from the main road of Hosha City, a volley of arrows was fired from behind the trees, bamboo, and bushes at them. Reza and his soldiers were surprised by the attack, and they stood motionless in the middle of the road, not knowing where to go next. The Razaasia soldiers raised their shields to block the incoming arrows, but when another wave of arrows hit their horses, they could only protect themselves, not them. One horse after another fell to the ground dead, causing other horses to panic and begin to break away from the gathering Razaasia soldiers. The escaping horses carrying the soldiers only made it more than ten yards. Then, the soldiers and horses were shot to death by arrows fired from the woods.

At this critical moment, Reza finally realized that this was a death trap set by the Magoli and the Musian soldiers. He knew that although the threat of retreating to the main camp was great, the chance of escape was much higher than the thorny road ahead, so he turned his horse's head and rode back to the battlefield.

Seeing Reza rushing back to the battlefield and heading towards the main camp, the Razaasia soldiers also turned their horses and followed Reza towards the main camp.

Reza found a small gap in the southeast of the main camp, so he and the remaining Razaasia soldiers rode towards it. However, as Reza and his soldiers got closer and closer to it, a spear was swung from behind one of the tents, knocking Reza off his horse. The Razaasia soldiers quickly reined in their horses to prevent them from running over Reza who fell to the ground.

Reza felt fragments of his front armor stab into his chest. He drew his sword and looked up to see which Magoli had knocked him off his horse, then gasped when he saw Zhi looking down at him. "Traitor!" Reza shouted through gritted teeth.

"Men won't sell their soul, if their king has not abandoned them," Zhi said. Zhi lowered his spear and touched the tip of the spear head to the ground. When more Magoli soldiers came out from the side of the tents, he slowly rode towards the Razaasia soldiers.

Reza and the Razaasia soldiers retreated slowly, and the sound of Zhi's spear scraping against the ground could be heard in their ears. They knew how powerful the blows of Zhi's spear were when he released it. He knew that if he and his men continued to retreat, they would be trapped in the middle of the battlefield and there would be no way to escape.

Reza saw that more Razaasia soldiers fleeing and running towards him. "We die with dignity!" Reza said, holding the sword tightly in his hand. "Don't let them capture us alive!"

The Razaasia soldiers charged towards Zhi and the Magoli soldiers. Seeing the fierce battle between the two groups, Reza grabbed the saddle horn of a fleeing horse. He jumped on its back while it was running away.

Seeing Reza trying to escape, Zhi grabbed a sword from the ground with his spear, wrapped it around the tip of his spear, and threw it at Reza who was passing by him. The flying sword only scratched Reza's right arm. Reza continued to ride his horse and left Hosha City, followed by ten Razaasia soldiers.

Zhi shouted, "Lay down your arms! Your leader has abandoned you." The Magoli soldiers surrounded the wounded and uninjured Razaasia soldiers. "Maybe your life might be spare."

One Razaasia soldier said, "Don't listen to him, they will not let us go. We must fight." He looked around and saw that his companions had given up and put down their swords. "You...you..." Knowing that after what they've done to the captured Musian soldiers, they would probably face the same fate, the soldier knew he would prefer swift and painless death over a prolonged agonizing death. He raised his sword and rushed towards Zhi. At this time, an arrow shot by a female Magoli soldier hit the brave Razaasia's neck. The Razaasia soldier took six steps towards Zhi, then fell to the ground and died.

"Hey!" Naksh said as he rode towards Zhi. He stared at the frightened Razaasia soldiers. "That Reza captain you mentioned is not among these surrendering soldiers, right?"

Zhi said, "He escaped with some soldiers." He turned to look at Naksh and Jeet and found that there were no captured Razaasia soldiers. "Are there no prisoners?"

Jeet said, "They fought bravely to the last man."

Zhi said, "Let's regroup."

At this time, the captured Razaasia soldiers were already lined up against the city wall surrounded by Magoli soldiers. As soon as the gates of Hosha City swung open, the remaining Musian soldiers rushed out and began to beat the surrendered Razaasia soldiers.

Watching the Musian soldiers beating the surrendered Razaasia soldiers, Chinua was satisfied with her first battle. When the moans and painful cries of the surrendered Razaasia soldiers filled her heart with joy, she suddenly remembered her promise to Hye.

"Stop them!" Chinua shouted.

The Magoli soldiers quickly pulled the Musian soldiers away from the surrendered Razaasia soldiers.

Hibo knocked Drystan's hand away and said through gritted teeth, "Do not touch me. Take your hands away. Don't stop me from torturing and killing these monsters."

Drystan said, "Chill lady, I followed the commander's orders. If you have something to say, please say it to her, not to me."

"Hibo!" Mandla said as he helped Kianga Walk towards Chinua and the Magoli soldiers.

Kianga looked at Chinua and said, "I thank you for coming to save us, but I cannot let these monsters live. They tortured them and burned our brothers and sisters alive. You have no idea how painful our hearts are when we were forced to listen to the agonizing screams of our dying people."

Hye walked with Azad and was within range when he saw the surrendered Razaasia soldiers beaten on the ground. "This is not the way to treat prisoners of war," Hye said. "Let's trade them for your people."

Kianga said angrily, "There is no Musian left to trade with."

"Still, you can't," Hye said as Chinua grabbed his left arm.

"Hye," Chinua said and shook her head. She looked at the injured Razaasia soldiers on the ground, then at Mandla and Kianga. "Your Highness, if you really want to thank me, please kill them with dignity."

Hye looked at Chinua angrily, and Chinua saw the blood vessels in Hye's eyes bursting out, and angry tears moistened his eyes. "Does your promise to me mean nothing to you?" Hye said through gritted teeth. He angrily yanked his arm from Chinua and walked away.
