Chapter 65 - 1. I Was Going To Die

"Shit, shit shit! He's missing again!"

A man in a stark white lab coat yelled to his colleagues in distress. They were all equally stressed. This was all because their most important subject was missing. He had not been broken out, and he had not broken out himself, as far as they could tell. No, he had simply disappeared, that was what it was like. Nothing was damaged, his cell was in perfect condition, and nobody had noticed anything out of the ordinary before his disappearance.

So…

"What the hell happened?!"

"I'm sorry, director, but we don't know right now! We've asked the rest of the lab to investigate all possibilities, but it really is…"

"Assume the worst case scenario and go after them."

So said Asaka. She was the one most affected by this. After all, she had a personal attachment to the subject.

You could see the rage in her eyes. Those were the eyes of a mother who had lost her son.

At first there was a blackness, void of feeling, a sort of space between worlds, with shadows twirling about, and a sense of unrealness. The shadows twisted and spiraled, and beautiful patterns formed. Indeed, it was like a garden of shadows. And within this void was a woman veiled in black. She was faced away, and he felt an unrelenting need to protect her. She seemed to be in pain. He wept internally–for he had no body here–and prayed she would find happiness. And then, she turned around, and her lips began to move.

"Ki—"

And then there was light. Like a newborn opening its eyes for the first time, the boy began to see nothing but light. And then his eyes adapted, and slowly everything else came into sight. It was a western style medieval city, like something from a JRPG.

"Is this another world? Well, I might have been kidnapped and put in a weird recreation of a JRPG world or something. That's a lot easier to believe than this being another world."

The boy, who's hair and eyes were black, had nothing but his school uniform on him. He was, of course, Japanese.

"Come to think of it, why is it that in those kinds of stories it's only ever Japanese people being sent to other worlds?"

The boy pondered what he should do next.

"I don't want to make Asaka worried, so I'll try to get back home. The first thing to do would be… ask someone."

He saw in front of him various market stalls, and decided to go to the one with a plethora of apples out front. He could easily afford those, which would mean he wouldn't end up wasting the seller's time talking to him without the intention to purchase something.

"Hello, I'd like to buy an apple please."

The seller looked at the boy, his eyes tinted with confusion.

"Apple? Do you mean appa? What the hell's an apple?."

The boy also became confused, wondering what on earth an appa might be. He decided it might just be some kind of regional dialect, or possibly a mistake on the seller's part. He looked down at the sign in front of the apples.

It was written in a language he had never seen before. It looked something like Korean or maybe Thai.

"Sorry, I meant appa. I'd like to buy an appa please."

The boy reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet, before pulling out a 100 yen bill and holding it out for the seller to take.

"What the hell's this? I only take Lugnican coins, boy. If you're not gonna buy anything, scram!"

The man became suddenly harsh, and glared at the boy. He quickly backed away, and decided to go somewhere else. If he couldn't buy information, he could at least try and find someone from the police, or an information office for tourists.

He continued walking along, but the day was hot, and he was beginning to sweat. Next to him, luckily, was a cool, shaded alleyway with a staircase to rest on.

He turned toward the alleyway and began walking down it, when suddenly, he heard footsteps. He turned around to meet whoever was tailing him.

"If you don't wanna get hurt, cough up all of your stuff!" A short, almost childlike man yelled at the boy.

"Sure."

The boy pulled out his wallet and handed it to the small man, who snatched it and opened it hastily. He pulled out a 100 yen bill and looked at it for a second in confusion.

"Huh? The hell is this?! You makin' fun of us?! We'll beat you to a pulp!"

They charged at the boy, as he looked calmly at the trio of thugs. One being tall and lanky, the other very built, and the last one the short childlike one from earlier.

Yogiri had, from the beginning, decided he would not use his power unless absolutely necessary. He had never broken that pact he made with himself, and he planned on never breaking it in the future either. In this instance, however, it was absolutely necessary.

If he did nothing, he would likely die. One of them even had a knife.

"Die."

All at once, the trio of thugs collapsed to the ground with a thud, and skidded to a stop at the boy's feet.

Yogiri looked at the corpses with a tinge of regret. They had wasted their lives with poor choices.

Yogiri looked up to see a petite blonde haired girl sprint at superhuman speeds, leaping from roof to roof. He had caught a split second glance at her face, and it was laced with fear and confusion. Her speed of running immediately ruled out his theory that he had been kidnapped by a rich person. This was veritably another world.

He looked back down to see a silver haired girl, looking at him in shock. Her face was pale, and she seemed to be shivering with a combination of fear and awe.

"Are you okay?"

His voice snapped the girl out of her stupor.

"Eh?! Ah… You… You—killed them with ju…just a word, right? That's what I saw, right?"

"I was going to die, so I killed them first."

"R-right… but… you killed them… just like that? With no…remorse…?"

"People like those thieves, people that steal like that, won't really become better, so they don't really deserve mercy."

"Y-You… No, nevermind. I need to calm down, focus!"

She slapped her own face a few times, making her cheeks red, and then looked at the boy once more.

"You wouldn't happen to have taken my insignia from those thieves, right? I reaaally need it."

"Insignia? That's a badge for nobles and royalty, right? I didn't loot these guys, so if they had your insignia, it's not on me."

Satella nodded, and immediately crouched down to the corpses of the trio, casually looting their corpses.

"...Nothing…"

She sighed dejectedly, and stood back up.

While the silver haired girl casually looted the corpses of the hooligan trio, the boy began to think of a plan. This girl looked rich, judging by her hairstyle and her way of dress, and she was looking for something, but clearly hopeless. If he helped her, she could probably get him some information on ways home.

"I can help you find your insignia. Do you know what the thief looked like?"

"W-well… she had blonde hair, and was short and young looking. She kind of dressed… immodestly… and she was very fast! No… But, first of all, you don't have to help me!"

"I don't have to, but I want to. Disregarding that… You said the thief was a blonde little girl, so why did you suspect these three of having your insignia…?"

The boy looked at the corpses that now had flies hovering around them, and then back at the silver haired girl, who looked flustered

"W-Well, I just… I figured they—Umm…"

"You said she was dressed immodestly, but she also stole, so she's probably poor. Is there an area where poor people live around here?"

"Umm.. The slums are to the east of here, that's where most poor people live."

Having cooled herself off, the silver haired girl thought about it rationally, and decided that she should just go with this boy for now. If he tried anything, she would fight back, but after seeing what he did to that trio, she decided it was better to leave him unquestioned.

"Okay, let's go there. Oh, right, my name is Yogiri Takatou.

"Ah—Right! Introductions. I'm so sorry. My name is…"

She paused for a bit, and looked to the side. It was pretty obvious to the boy that she was about to lie.

"Satella. Just Satella."

Yogiri decided to ignore that she lied, since it wasn't any of his business anyway. He was about to step forward, assuming they would be off, when suddenly—

A gray, tiny cat flew out from behind Satella's head, and with a cheerful expression, announced himself.

"Hiya! My name's Puck!"

The cat called out in a cheerful, androgynous voice. His jeer seemed sort of fake, his eyes were not smiling. Yogiri could detect them scrutinizing his every action. It was as though they peered past his flesh and into his soul

Satella smiled cheerfully.

While this man had killed three men with a word, something that she just couldn't overlook, they had been about to kill him, so she didn't really have much say about that. She wasn't even involved in the first place.

"Nice to meetcha!" Puck cried out, before holding out his fist and flying towards Yogiri, who returned the fistbump.

"Are you some kind of magical girl contractor?" Yogiri asked Puck, after they bumped fists.

"I'm Lia's contracted spirit! I'm also her father, so don't you try anything strange!"

He sounded like he was joking, but Yogiri could detect a tinge of seriousness in his voice.

"Alright. Let's go to the slums and search for your insignia."

As Yogiri said this, he motioned for Satella to follow him, and they began making their way out of the dark alleyway, stepping over the corpses of the three hooligans—the first victims.

Yogiri truly walked to the beat of his own drum. That was what Satella thought, as she followed loosely behind him. Her and Puck were trailing slightly behind out of fear of being overheard. Even if they could talk telepathically, Puck had been so paranoid he opted to be this cautious anyway.

Puck… what do you think of Yogiri?

I don't want you anywhere near him. He seems like trouble.

Puck was clearly being serious. This was the sort of warning he gave when it was life or death for Satella.

But he promised to help, didn't he?

Satella was scared of him too, but he seemed very kind. Especially since he promised to help. She thought maybe if they could get on his good side, he would use his powers for them.

Listen. Lia. I tried to look into his soul, and see what he's feeling. What I saw c-could… You would g-go m-mad… if you s-saw the… the e-eyes. There were so many, watching… Just… stay away from him!

Puck looked shaken up. Satella had lived her entire life with Puck, and never once had she seen him like this. He looked liable to keel over right then and there if he kept talking about what he saw.

If you say so, Puck…

Satella, after seeing Puck reduced to that state by Yogiri, decided she would only trust him for as long as she needed to.

As they arrived in the slums, Yogiri could tell quite easily that this place was absolutely awful. Most of the buildings here could barely be classified as habitable, with how broken down they were. There was also a horrid smell— a putrid fog everywhere.

"This place has an awful atmosphere."

Satella and Yogiri were walking towards their next destination, a loot house. Yogiri had tried asking people, but they both were dressed far too well for anyone to want to talk to them. There was a unified hatred for the rich in this place.

Satella said she could contact the lesser spirits to try and find the person they were looking for, and the spirits tracked the thief to a building close to the eastern wall of the capital.

"Yeah… I really wish that people didn't have to live like this…"

Yogiri couldn't help but think that everything about this place was pretty depressing. Although he didn't really know anyone living here, he did feel bad for the people that did. The oppressive air made it seem like there was no escape once you lived here.

"Hey, Takatou-dono, where are you from? I've never seen someone with black hair before, it looks reaaally cool!"

"I'm from an island nation to the east."

"Eh? Lugnica is the most eastern nation in the world…"

"It is?"

"Mhm! Everyone knows that, dummy!"

"Actually, I just remembered, why dono?"

"Eh?"

"Why do you call me Takatou-dono?"

"Ah… I'm sorry! I meant Takatou-heika!"

"Heika?"

"Ah–no–ah—I mean—Takatou-kakka!"

"Kakka? That's a little… too far—"

"Th-Then—Takatou-sama!"

"If you insist. I'm not sure where that honorific came from though."

Near the tail end of their conversation, they spotted the building they had been looking for—the loot house.

It was already quite late, the sun was going down, and the slums were bathed in an orange light.

When they came to the door, Yogiri stepped up to knock on it.

"For a giant rat?"

"Rat poison."

"For the white whale?"

"A harpoon."

"To our most honorable Great Dragon?"

"Worship."

Yogiri heard footsteps on the other side of the door, whoever had been asking for the password probably just walked away. Yogiri realized that the giant rat part was probably wrong, since it would take an absurd amount of rat poison to kill a giant rat.

Not bothering to try again, Yogiri decided to just kill the door.

He turned the door handle and pushed it open, before stepping inside. The space smelled of body odor, and dust filled the air so thickly it was a little hard to breathe. Yogiri looked directly forward only to see a behemoth of a man stood in his way. The man was easily above seven feet tall. His skin was dark, and he had gray hair covering some of his head and most of his chest. He looked muscular, like an American bodybuilder or something.

The old man was holding a massive wooden club in his right hand, and glaring with the sharpness of a scalpel directly at Yogiri.

"Now… You walk back out of that door or I'm gonna turn 'ya into mush."

"Please don't. I'm here to try and get a stolen item back.

"We ain't giving back a damn thing."

Yogiri furrowed his brow. What a stubborn old man.

"What if I traded for it?"

Yogiri proposed the idea to him. Although currently he barely possessed anything, he still had clothes that were likely considered very nice compared to what this old man was wearing.

"What for? Specifically."

"This girl–" Yogiri pointed to Satella, who had just walked in. "–wants to get her insignia back. I'll give you my clothes for it, I guess."

Satella widened her eyes, realizing what Yogiri was offering for her sake.

"What? You don't have to do that Yogiri! They stole it, so they should give it back!" Satella protested.

"I don't really see the issue." was all Yogiri had to say, and Satella could protest no longer.

"The golden one with the red gem in the center, right?"

The old man confirmed with Satella, and then scrutinized Yogiri's clothing.

"Those are some damn fancy clothes… Are you a noble, by chance…?"

"No."

"Well, come have a seat, and we'll talk about our trade over some drinks."

Having said that, the old giant motioned for the two to sit at the bar.

Satella and Yogiri sat down on some heavily worn wooden stools, and the old man walked behind the counter. Every step made a heavy thump, and kicked up more dust into the air.

"My name's Rom, you can just call me that. You two want anything to drink?"

"I'm fine." Yogiri rejected the proposal. After all, he hated alcohol.

Satella also rejected the proposal. Puck had drilled it into her that alcohol was no good. Especially when another man was nearby, because they might use it to take advantage of her. She didn't know what specifically he meant, but figured it was about money. She would never allow a man to take her money like that.

"Well, then let's talk business. Both of you want to buy an insignia with a red gem right? I heard about something like that coming in later, but another person's trying to buy it too… We'll have to have you both negotiate for it."

"That's fine. Do you want to appraise my clothing?"

Yogiri posed the question which was more of a request. He had no idea how much his clothing would be worth, but since Rom had assumed he was a noble, it was probably a lot. Still, better to be safe than sorry.

Yogiri took off his jacket, and handed it to Rom, who felt the outside and inside of it.

"Boy, this is about some of the nicest clothing I've ever touched. I'd say this is worth no less than ten holy coins."

Yogiri glanced over at Satella, as if to ask if that was good enough, and Satella nodded. Of course, she had no idea, and was just going with the flow.

A light knocking was heard at the door, and Rom walked over to answer. After a quick exchange—Yogiri assumed it was the password but he couldn't hear it very well, which was probably on purpose—the door was opened and the person on the other side walked in.

It was the same blonde girl Yogiri had seen earlier, and who Satella had claimed stole her insignia.

Once she had stepped one foot in, she finally noticed the two guests. First she looked at Yogiri, and froze, and her face went pale. Then, she looked at Satella, and somehow became paler.

She shook her head, cast a wary glance at Yogiri, and then looked at Satella and began to speak.

"You—weren't you the girl I stole from?! Old man Rom, you better have a good explanation for why you brought one of my marks here!"

"Now, now, Felt, calm down! Her friend here said he wants to trade some of his clothes for that insignia you stole from her."

"And? They're just some clothes! They better be worth a lot!"

Felt still looked somewhat angered, but calmed down when Rom told her it was fine.

"Now, trust me here Felt, these are some of the nicest clothes I've ever touched. Nothing else like 'em around, save for them fancy kimonos they got over in Kararagi."

Yogiri made a mental note to ask about Kararagi. If they had Japanese clothing, there was a chance that they had a way back to Japan.

"Kee-mo-nose…? Whatever, if you say so, old man."

She then turned towards Yogiri.

"Who're you?" she said, in a rude tone of voice.

"I'm Yogiri Takatou."

"Your weird name and black hair tells me you're a total weirdo," Felt said, taking a sip out of her mug, before immediately spitting it out.

"Old man, you watered this down, didn't you!"

"Calm down, Felt! Milk's getting expensive nowadays!

Despite her supposed anger, there was a sense of it being simple banter, nothing more.

And then—

As if to interrupt such a peaceful moment—

There was another set of knocks at the door—they were much heavier this time.

Felt sighed.

"That's probably the buyer. I'll go get it," she said, before getting up from the barstool and walking over to open the door.

From outside, a tall woman stepped into the building. She had black hair, and skin pale like the snow. Her face was beautiful, done up in makeup and such—but Yogiri had seen Satella, so he wasn't very surprised. The woman was wearing a black cloak, and had an outfit under it that showed off her assets in an incredibly indecent way. She was something like a succubus combined with a vampire. The whole building became filled with an eerie atmosphere.

"My, my… It appears I'm late! And who are those two?"

"They'll be negotiating for the insignia against you." Felt replied.

"I see, then let's get to business, shall we?" the woman said, with a smile.

Yogiri and the woman were sat down opposite of each other at a table, with Satella behind Yogiri, and Rom and Felt off to the right of the table.

"I want to trade my jacket for the insignia. Rom told me it was worth ten holy coins."

Yogiri took off the jacket and folded it, before putting it on the table.

"Oh my, that's worth quite a lot. It's a good thing my employer gave me an extra ten holy coins in case something went wrong. I have thirty holy coins."

"I can also throw in my pants, shirt, and underwear."

The tall woman licked her lips.

"That last one is quite tempting, but I doubt it all adds up to more than thirty holy coins…"

Rom weighed in, saying "Everything together is probably twenty-five holy coins at the lowest."

"I lose."

"Eh? You're giving up that easily?"

"I mean, she has thirty holy coins and I have something worth twenty-five holy coins. I lose."

"Rom said it was at least twenty-five holy coins, not exactly twenty-five!" Satella exclaimed, reminding Yogiri of the earlier dialogue.

"The young lady's right, kid. I'd say some folks might be willing to buy the clothes for a bit more than thirty holy coins, considering its condition and such." Rom concurred.

"Nevermind, I win, so can I have the insignia?"

Yogiri had won, so he asked for what he bought.

Felt reached into her pocket and pulled out the insignia, before—

Yogiri noticed an incredibly potent killing intent aimed at basically everyone in the room, emanating from that one woman.

So, Yogiri decided to quickly save himself, before he and everyone with him died.

With a thump, the woman slumped over and banged her head on the table, her limbs being fully relaxed.

"Jeez, no need to get in such a slump over that thing. Did you need it that bad?" Felt laughed, and went to poke the woman. Her finger touched the woman's face, and her head stayed still. She didn't wake up.

"Ummm… lady? Did you pass out or something?"

Felt poked and prodded the woman every which way, but nothing happened. She then decided to lift up the lady's head. She grabbed the woman's big head, and then accidentally lost her grip, as her hands had been too small to hold such a large, heavy object.. Because the woman's head had just been lifted up, and had swung backwards limply—creating inertia, she fell backwards in the chair. With a loud thump, the chair and the lady fell to the ground.

The succubus-cum-vampire was sprawled on the ground, like a ragdoll.

"Eh? Eh? She's way too cold…"

Suddenly, Felt's eyes widened, and she realized something.

"No… Nonononononono… You have to be kidding me… I wasn't hallucinating? Then—those three, that was… NO! NO! YOGIRI, DID YOU DO THIS?!"

Felt was pale and shaking, and she was screaming angrily at Yogiri.

"She was about to kill me, so I killed her."

Yogiri's response was simple, and completely lacking any remorse. Yogiri was about to be killed, so he got rid of the thing that was about to kill him. It was just self defense.

"How…do you know that…?"

"I can detect killing intent."

"No way…"

"She was about to kill everyone in the room, including you."

Yogiri had saved basically everyone here, was what he was saying.

Nobody believed him, except for Satella.

So, he's basically unstoppable with no weaknesses, she though.

Felt, on the other hand–

This is impossible. You have to be joking me. I don't want to believe it. Why was I cursed with the knowledge that a freak like this even exists?! What the hell?!

Felt considered grabbing her dagger and killing Yogiri as quickly as possible.

"You're gonna do something, aren't you?"

Yogiri noticed she was about to attack him.

Felt's eyes dulled in acceptance.

"Hahahahahaha. What a fucking joke!"

Felt began laughing hysterically, as she realized what was before her.

"Now, Felt, just calm down!" Rom, who was experienced when it came to horrible deaths, tried to calm down Felt. But she was incapable of calming down. Her realization of the existence of such a power, combined with her lack of experience with death, and her fear that she would be the next target of this thing which had no weaknesses, had made her go utterly mad.

She drew her dagger, and charged toward Yogiri.

One foot after the other, she sprinted at superhuman speed, before seemingly tripping over her right foot, and falling flat on her face. She skidded for a bit, and finally—thump.

Her head collided with a leg of Yogiri's chair with minimal force, and then Felt's corpse lay still, without a quiver, like a puppet whose strings had been cut.

Rom fell to his knees and began crying.

He didn't like to admit it that much, but she was basically a daughter to him. He loved her with all his heart, like any good father would.

Yogiri felt a tinge of sadness due to Rom's reaction, but he knew that if he hadn't killed Felt, he would have died.

Satella cracked. She had been putting up with all of this, because most of the people who were going after him were detestable people, according to Puck, Yogiri, and her own senses. But Felt was different. She was a good kid.

"Takatou-sama! Why would you do that?!"

"If I hadn't killed her, I would have died.

"Couldn't you have done something aside from killing her?!"

"Not really. My ability is to kill things. If I want something dead, it dies, but I can't really do much else. You can't come back from death. Death is the end. If you came back from death, you were never dead in the first place."

Satella simply sighed.

"You're just going to leave this grieving father and his dead daughter here?"

"What else can I do?"

Saying this, Yogiri bent down and picked up the insignia that had slid out of the hands of Felt's corpse.

Without a word of apology to Felt or Rom, Yogiri handed the insignia to Satella and motioned for her to follow him. He led her out of the building.

They began walking back out of the slums. It was dark now, and the blue moonlight illuminated the dirt paths that were probably once streets.

"Where are we going?"

"Well… Ram is supposed to pick me up, but she probably has no idea where we are… fiddlesticks!"

"Ram?"

"She's one of the maids that takes care of me. She seems mean at first, but she's actually a super nice person!"

Yogiri thought that sounded horrible. People should be respectful.

"Hey, Yogiri. Why did you want to help me?"

"So I can go home." was his simple reply. He didn't have any personal stake in it, and didn't really care that much about Satella.

"Eh? Are you lost?"

"Basically, yeah. I woke up in this city near the market. I don't really know where I am."

Satella was astonished that such a rich and well adjusted—not to mention powerful person was completely lost and homeless.

"So, I'm basically helping you because I think it will lead me back home."

"So that's why, huh? But are you sure about helping me? Surely you've noticed by now… My name, and my ears…"

"Huh? Yeah, Satella, it's a pretty cool name. Besides, elves are pretty cute." Yogiri nonchalantly laid his heart bare.

"But… I'm a half elf… and I– Wait… c-c-c-cute?! Eh?!"

Satella had never been told something like this before by anyone but Puck. Blood rushed to her cheeks and the tips of her ears. Her face felt hot. She quickly put up her hands to cover her face and knelt down to try and hide from Yogiri out of embarrassment.

"C-cute… He said elves are cute… I'm a half elf…. He…"

"Hey, your ears look pretty red, do you have a fever or something?"

Hearing him call out to her, she jumped up while still not facing Yogiri.

"H-huh? No! I don't have a fever! I'm okay."

It was pretty obvious that Satella was red on her ears, but since Yogiri didn't know a lot about elf biology here, he just assumed she might have a condition, or something like that.

"More importantly, do you have any way to call over this Ram person? It's pretty late and we haven't gotten to your place yet. And besides, I probably need to find a place to sleep."

Satella still didn't reply, so Yogiri reached out and tapped her shoulder.

"You okay?"

"Hah?! Y-yes… I'm fine… Anyway! Ummm… Really, we're in quite a pickle. I don't know how we could contact Ram… But, if you don't have a place to stay, you could stay at ours! You got me back my insignia, so it's the least I could do…"

She finally turned to face Yogiri, and smiled brightly. Yet something was noticeably off about it. Like there was a great darkness behind the light of her smile.

"So, to get this right, Emilia-sama, you ran off on your own after I looked away for a mere five seconds, found a strange man, who might have been a pervert, and immediately trusted him, and then followed his every whim?"

What Ram had said was not even a little bit off the mark, despite it being obviously rather rude.

"Yes…" Is all Emilia had to say, pouting.

Yogiri was unbothered, and instead decided to compliment Ram.

"Nice maid outfit." Although not a pervert, Yogiri was an appreciator of cute outfits.

"Stop ogling me, pervert."

"My name is Yogiri, not Pervert."

"Stop ogling me, Pervgiri"

"That's good enough."

While Ram was all the more annoyed by Yogiri, Emilia stepped in.

"You two get along really well, huh!"

"I don't think we do."/"I hope he drops dead."

Emilia's blissful ignorance of what was actually happening was just enough to brighten the mood of both Ram and Yogiri.

They were currently sitting on a carriage bound for the mansion that Emilia lived in. Yogiri had learned that Satella was a cover name to make him go away, since she apparently didn't want to have any debt, which seemed like a lie. She was actually named Emilia, and apparently lived in a mansion with some guy named Roswaal.

The name was already pretty creepy, Yogiri noted, but judging people based on things like that was bad—Asaka had taught him to be better than that.

"Would you stop staring at me like that, Pervgiri?"

Puck hadn't been seen in a while, and Emilia said that he usually goes to sleep at hours this late, so he was probably just asleep.

What bothered Yogiri most was that every time he had seen Puck, Puck would constantly give him a glance that seemed to say "if you do anything, you're dead." Puck was just being a protective father, so Yogiri had no intention to kill him unless there was actual danger.

"If you have time to think this hard, you could spare a moment to shift your gaze from my chest, Pervgiri."

There was also Ram, who clearly didn't trust Yogiri, and was also rather rude. It was probably mostly just banter, but he couldn't help but think that there was something deeper to it.

"Would you stop undressing me in your mind? Pervert."

Finally, Yogiri was snapped out of his thoughts.

"Why would I?"

"Why would you? Are you trying to say that there is nothing attractive about me? Does that mean you already undressed me in your mind and didn't like what you saw?"

"No, but I don't like being pervy when it comes to cute girls."

"Hah, of course Pervgiri—Did you just call me cute?"

She made no change of expression, but Ram was flustered. She immediately labeled Yogiri as a "danger to all women" mentally.

She decided she would do her absolute best to make sure Rem would never fall to him. Never, ever.
