Chapter 53 - Country road take me home

POV AIKO

After finally saying our goodbyes and passing through the gates, the four of us had now left Vale and were making our way to the east, where we could find a harbor that could take us home.

However, with most of the bullheads being owned by Atlas, we decided to just walk, since not only did we have extra time to train, but to bond.

Especially for Sienna and me, durring our time training, I was able to understand why she didn't trust humans fully.

It turned out, Sienna herself used to love someone on Menagerie, a wolf Faunus who always tried to beat her in a fight. However the Faunus lost every time he challenged her.

It was annoying at first and told him to stop, but he would ignore her request and came back the next day.

Over time she began to enjoy whenever he arrived and began to grow fond of him, albeit slowly at first.

Soon she began to that he hopped that he would come by, she even prepared a small first-aid kit to heal him each time she beat him too hard.

However, she wasn't able to confess when they were traveling through Mistral, it was during the time when my dad was trying to gather more members for the white fang.

They were caught in an ambush by some humans who decided to take matters in their own hands.

One of the humans was about to shoot him in the head, but the wolf Faunus pushed him to the side, taking the bullet for my dad.

This caused Sienna to go into a berserk state and discovering her semblance at the same time.

As soon as the humans ran, she didn't want to talk to anyone, her mind was focused on finding the humans who killed the Faunus she loved.

She was stubborn and ignored most of the other Faunus's pleas, except my mom.

She was able to talk to her before she was about to sneak off to Mistral, stopping her from killing the humans who killed the person she loved.

It wasn't easy at first, since her anger was justified. But after a deal my mom made with her, Sienna would stay home and take the time to heal.

During the first year, she had nightmares about the day, screaming in the middle of the night.

While other day's she would unconsciously make her way to the spot she would dual with the Faunus.

Only to come back to my mother and cry in sadness, I had to admit, it was something I didn't expect.

"So, how do I come in on all of this?" Sienna only looked at the sky, smiling in nostalgia.

"You remind me of him, always optimistic, always trying to cheer us up, even for the smallest things." She chuckled and ruffled my hir.

"But, you don't want to be with someone like me, I'll be old and ugly, so you should be with someone who is about your age." She smiled.

However, I only hugged her and placed my head between her chest. Causing her to stiffen in shock, her arm's slowly hugged me back.

"I don't care, I want to stay by your side." I said to her with honesty, her eyes began to form tears, and a small smile formed on her face.

"Maybe when your older, you're still a kid, Aiko." Her face betrayed her words, her eyes showing affection to my confession.

"Just stay safe, I ain't losing you anytime soon." She whispered, and began to run her hand through my hair.

I had to admit, Sienna was someone who I cared for deeply, one that I didn't want to lose.

'So, it seems you found your first mate, a warrior at that.' I heard my mother speak, her voice teasing me on who I love.

'Bah, don't tease the poor boy, so what if he likes girls that are older than him, he has the choice to love anyone.' My grandpa commented.

'Still, it is adorable for him to fall for a girl that is older than him.' My mother cooed.

'Can I at least have a moment with the girl I love?' I whined, both of them just chuckled and soon stayed silent leaving the two of us with each other.

After our confession, the four of us soon continued to make our way back the the town we first arrived at.

However, with how close I was to Sienna, Blake was glaring at her as if she stole something important from her.

Ilia on the other hand remained passive, staring ahead as if nothing bothered her and kept her hand on her rapier.

However the silence was soon broken when the sound of footsteps were heard. Causing Sienna and Ilia to stand in front and behind us.

"Show yourselves, you cowards!" She shouted, the sound of footsteps were heard, and multiple people soon walked around us.

Men and women surrounded us, all of them had a different weapon in their hands,Blake whimpered in fear, shivering in my arms at the sight.

"Aiko, I'm scared." She whispered, I only held her tighter, shielding her from the sight of greed and oust that was aimed at her body, it made me feel, annoyed, disgusted, and angry.

"So, your the kids that caused trouble in Atlas, I have to admit, you caused some of our clients to be pretty annoyed." A man spoke, the leader of the group.

"So what?" I asked, staring at the man who was pacing back and forth.

"So what? Kid, you don't seem to understand what's happening in font you, but you're a kid after all, so I can't blame you." The man shrugged and shook his head.

"So I'll keep it simple, you four will surrender to us, and you'll be treated somewhat okay." He then looked at Sienna, licking his lips and stared at her figure with lust.

"Okay, three of you will be treated somewhat okay, you on the other hand I'll treat you just fine." The people around us began to chuckle and sneer at the sight of the man's use.

"So, drop the weapons and raise those hands, or else things will get ugly pretty quick." Seeing the situation in front of us, Sienna looked at the people.

She raised her hands with her whip in hand, only to flick her wrist and send the end of the whip towards him, however he was able to dodge to the side.

The people behind him weren't too lucky however, as soon as the knives imbedded themselves into one of his companions, one of the knives began to glow.

Lightning began to arc around their body, causing them to be charred. Surprising the three of us.

I was blocking Blake's sight and ears with my tails, since I didnt want her to see what was happening.

Once Sienna made the first move, the rest of the humans that surrounded us raised their weapons and guns and began to rush towards us.

"Aiko, take Blake to higher ground!" Sienna shouted at me while pulling back her whip. I did as she told, sending one of my tails towards the trees, pulling Blake with me.

With the amount of people staring at us, some of them soon chased us as well, mostly yo capture me for seeing the real me.

"Get that freak, it'll fetch us some good lien!" One of them shouted, as they were about to shoot us, the leader then spoke.

"Don't shoot you idiots, we're trying to get them alive! Use lighting dust on them!" Shouted the leader, catching the attention to the rest of the humans.

They all soon did as he asked, removing the normal dust bullets, and swapping to lightning ones, others coated their weapons with lightning dust.

'Oh come on, this isn't fair!' I whined mentally, jumping from tree to tree to avoid all of the shots that were aimed towards me. Blake on the other hand, screamed in fear from the amount of gunfire aimed towards us.

"Akko, do something!" Blake tugged at my sleeve, hiding her face as she saw many bullets fly by.

I soon jumped onto one of the trees, with one of the branches growing in the opposite direction direction of the humans that were chasing us.

"Stay here and close your eyes, count to fifty, and all the bad humans will be gone." Blake soon looked into my eyes, reassuring her that everything will be okay.

"Okay, o-one, t-two." Blake closed her eyes and began to count, giving me the chance to jump down and summon my weapon.

As I landed onto the ground, all the kindness I had vanished from my face, all that remains was a neutral look on my face. Two out of the nine chakrams appeared in my hands as I walked towards them.

The first one to arrive was a woman, in her hands was a katana, she was swinging it from the side.

The blunt end was coated with lightning dust to paralyze me, however, it never made contact with my body.

Instead, I lightly jumped over her and raised my hand slowly. The chakram soon passed through her easily, and I landed behind her, continuing to walk towards the groups of humans.

"H-hey, the kids behind you!" One of the humans spoke up, but the woman stood still, soon, a line appeared, cutting her clothes, showing her bare back.

A line then appeared down the center of her body, followed by blood leaking through it, finally, the body split in two, and blue flames soon began to burn it to ash.

"If you don't mind, I'm on a time limit, and I would rather not be a liar in front of my sister." I said, continuing to walk towards them.

"G-get him, he's just one kid!" Shouted another human, all of them soon snapped out of the shock and soon ran towards me, all of them surrounding me in different angles.

However, instead of catching me, I merely jumped through a small opening, one that was big enough for me to pass through thanks to my size.

With the small size, I soon released the remaining seven chakrams, all which flew in different directions.

As soon as I passed through the small groups of humans, I called them back, each being caught by my tail.

"Thirty seconds left." Was all I said, and the humans behind me all began to split apart, however, before they could stain the earth red, blue flames took care of the bodies.

The chakrams then became liquid, slowly traveling through my fur, traveling on my arms, and reaching the chakrams in my hands.

The liquid soon engulfed the chakrams on my hands, and soon shot forward, until it reached a certain point.

Both sides began to turn shape, while the center of the blade showed a small fox, with nine tails intertwining with one another at the tip.

"Time to take this bad boy for a swing." I looked at the remaining humans, the now formed longsword was hanging by my side.

I dug my foot into the ground, bursting forward and had it raised high, wanting to strike from above.

The human I rushed towards raised their weapon, a great sword, and a metal clang was heard, followed by the sound of screeching.

The sword that blocked mine was cut, not fully, not half way, but a quarter way through. Seeing this, I was satisfied, but the sound of my grandfather's annoyance was heard.

'You're slouching forward, and your knees are too bent, you still need to keep swinging the sword a few more times.' He criticized me.

I didn't let his words distract me, and tugged back, causing sparks to fly through the air, kicking the sword in front of me and breaking it in two.

Once my sword was free, I swung from bellow. Instead at his sword, I swung for his arms, slicing them into the air and taking the chance to kick the human away from me.

As the human flew away, his entire body burned blue and soon turned to ash. His companions, seeing the flames all covered their faces and braced for impact.

However, the ashes soon covered them, causing them to be blinded, I soon stood in the middle of the group, my sword aimed at the floor.

"Ten seconds left." Was all I muttered and spun only once, my blade raised to my side, cutting through the flesh and bone.

As I returned to the position that I started with, the rest of the humans burned into ash, and the cloud was blown away by the sudden force of my swing.

"Zero seconds remain." I then rushed back to the tree and jumped up, seeing Blake open her eyes. She stares at me for a second but then hugs me.

"Are they gone?" She asked, holding me tight and not wanting to let go.

"Yup, lets go find Sienna." I placed the longsword behind me and carried Blake in my arms; I didn't notice that her face was turning red at what I was doing.

However, that didn't last long as soon as we arrived to where the both of them were. In front of us, the leader was leaning against a tree with wounds on his legs and arms.

"Aiko, Blake, you two okay?" She asked us while rolling her whip.

"Yeah, Aiko delt with the bad guys." Blake ran towards her, hugging Sienna by the leg and staring at her with concern.

"Are you okay?" Sienna only smiled and ruffled Blakes hair, kneeling down to her level and carrying Blake in her arms.

"Yeah, we're okay. Now come on, we got to go before the ferry leaves us." The four of us made our way back the village, leaving the last man to die.

"Not… like this!" He suddenly pulled out a gun and struggled to lift it, barely aiming it at Sienna.

As he was about to pull the trigger, I spun around and swung the sword down, creating a translucent arc with my flames.

It traveled towards him at a fast speed passing through him and the tree, I then placed the longsword on my back and continued to walk with the girls.

"Did something happened?" Sienna asked, looking at me.

"No, just a small fly." Was all I said, the man and the tree began to split in half, but before the tree could land on the ground, it was burned to ash.
