Chapter 20 - Chapter 19 - Call to Arms

"What the hell..." I muttered under my breath as I watched what looked like to be every single Saiyan on Planet Vegeta fly into the shipyard, each entering their respective ships.

Each team had their own assigned ships. The Elites had their own ships while the Lower and Mid Classes all piled into the three large ones in the middle of the shipyard.

"What is all this, Vegeta? Why did your dad call for all of us?" Raditz asked as he looked around at all the individual teams and ships.

"What makes you think I know, fool? Vegeta replied with annoyance clearly shining shining through his voice, "I was with you when the alert came. I know as much as you do."

"Enough." I told them, walking in the direction of the large ship in the middle of the three. "The only way we're getting any answers is from the King."

"And how do you know he's in that one?" I hear Fasha ask.

I stopped and glanced back, seeing that it wasn't just my own team following me, but Team Bardock as well.

Since when did everyone start relying on me for answers?

"He's the King." I replied before turning back and continuing on my way, "Where else would he be?"

---

"Hurry up and get moving! I want these ships moving within the hour!" King Vegeta yelled at one of the ship engineers.

It didn't take long for us to find the King, all we had to do was follow the sound of yelling. It's strange. I've seen the King lose his composure before, but this was different. Usually it's like a calm backlash. A cold glare, maybe even a Ki blast if someone got too impudent, but I've never seen him like this.

It's almost like he's racing against some sort of clock or something, and it wasn't just him either.

Standing off to the side, I see that the Queen was now acting very strange as well. It's subtle, but the usual cold expression that she wore now had a small bit of well hidden suppressed anxiety. She hides it well, but I've stared at her long enough to know.

I couldn't put my finger on exactly what was happening, but this entire situation felt very wrong.

"Father, what's going on?" Vegeta asked, his tone serious but also held a small sliver of worry.

The King turned and saw us approaching, his face seemingly taking one of relief for a brief moment before going back to the steeled over gaze he had just a second ago.

"Bardock, Zyleth, you're here. Good." He said, seemingly glossing over his son's question which caused me to raise an eyebrow, "Pick out your bunks on the ship. I've ordered that the training station will be open to you and your teams exclusively."

Okay, now this is really starting to fucking worry me....

The King was being nice?

"King Vegeta, what is this? What's with the whole "all hands on deck" situation?" I asked, motioning to all of the commotion happening around us.

His turned his gaze downward to me before answering with, "We are preparing for a raid, Zyleth."

"A raid?" Shugesh muttered, looking towards Borgos.

Borgos looked back at him and shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head with his usual blank expression.

"The Saiyans haven't had a raid in a decades, not since my grandfather's time." Bardock told us all, looking at all of us with a serious gaze.

"That's right." The King nodded before turning his back towards us, "My grandfather was the last King that had issued a raid of this scale."

"But aren't raids only issued if there's something of extreme importance?" Tora asked with a confused expression.

"That, or the planet's inhabitants are too strong for the normal Saiyan Team to eradicate on their own." Bardock told him.

"So which is it this time?" Fasha asked, her eyes looking towards the King.

The King seemed to visibly stiffen at the question. It was for a brief second, but it was enough for me to notice. And guessing by the look that my father gave me, he noticed it as well.

"There's an... object that the inhabitants on the planet have in their possession. An object of great importance to the Saiyan Race..." King Vegeta said through gritted teeth, his tone sounding as if it took great difficulty for him to even utter those words.

"What is it?" Vegeta asked, curious as to what could be so important as to issue a planet wide call.

"Don't you worry about what it is. All you have to know is that this object is of extreme importance." The King said before waving us off, "Now go and prepare yourselves. I have no more time for your questions."

Seeing that he refused to speak further on the subject, we all went to go pick out our bunks on the ship. Bardock and I glanced at each other, picking up that something was definitely going on before following the rest of our teams.

[General POV]

Seeing that Team Black and Team Bardock were now gone, Sela walked towards her husband and laid a hand on his shoulder, to which he shrugged off.

Seeing that her husband was not in the mood for any more talk, she let out a tired sigh before excusing herself and walking in the direction of their private quarters.

The King gritted his teeth in anger as he stared out at the plethora of Saiyans gathering within the shipyard.

"I'm a King... I shouldn't have to grovel at the feet of an overgrown house cat..." He growled, his fists balling up to the point where blood started to drip on the floor.

[Zyleth's POV]

After picking out our bunks, my and my father's team all agreed to head to the training station. Bardock and I were in the middle of a light sparring session as the members of his and my team did the same.

"You've trained them well." Bardock commented as he blocked my strike that aimed for his abdomen.

"Learned from the best." I replied as I lifted my knee and blocked a kick to my groin, "Going for cheap shots now?"

"You deserve at least one." Bardock said as he eyed the weights on my arms and legs, "I can't believe you refuse to fight me at full power."

"Maybe you should get stronger then." I retorted with a smirk.

"You cocky little--"

Suddenly, the ship started to shake, causing all of us to head back towards the ground.

"Looks like we're about to head out." Tora commented, his gaze turned upward towards the skylight, "What do you think--"

Tora was suddenly kicked in the jaw, causing him to stagger back and hit the wall.

"Got him! Victory for Vegeta!" The Prince yelled out with his fists raised high in the air.

"You little shit! I'm gonna get you for that!" Tora yelled as he dashed at Vegeta.

Bardock looked at the scene in front of him and shook his head in slight amusement before turning towards me, "You know Tora is going to beat the shit out of him, right?"

"Eh, we have med bay next door." I said, shrugging off his concern.

Bardock smirks at me before his face suddenly turned serious, "You caught the way the King was acting, right? Vegeta isn't telling us something."

"I know." I said as I nod my head and turned my gaze towards the skylight, looking out at darkness of space.
