"young master, I only know that this is where the core of demon sealing formation originated, lord Belmont told us about it, the golden sword will guide the way, i don't really know such place exist either" replied Lina with a frown to the fact that she couldn't provide Felix a more satisfactory answer.
But she was right, my grandfather did told us that, i dont know why this golden dagger was called a sword despite its, but i know it's power was gravely weakened, it's appearance isn't what it used to be even during my grandfather's time.

It was a noticeable door, besides the door was two pathways, it's like a forked road but I know the door at the center leads towards their goal, while unbeknownst for them to what the other two pathways leads them.

"it can't be... Seeker of knowledge?!" i couldnt help but feel shocked and angry about their involvement towards this place

Seeker of Knowledge, they're generally known as mad seeker, are a group of mages who are hysterically crazy in there pursuit of knowledge, be it in the good way or the evil way.
They worship mazir, he is known as one of the 4 great gods, mazirfen a compassionate god of knowledge who help those people in need to overcome their hardship by giving them knowledge to overcome their problem. While the mad seeker worship him as, mazircuin the god of deception, and one of the 4 great evil gods, a deceiver who gives you more hardship with the knowledge he gives atop of the trouble you currently is in.
This is actually a great cause of problem in this world's religions, even I don't know how to really identify this god of knowledge and deception, he's either both or a separate entity, yet it must still be the same God, a two face god.
"let's enter, we still have things to do" i opened up the door and as I opened, I observed the room has an altar, statues and.... Research documents? The room is pretty bizarre. Besides the altar and the two statues, this place is pretty much a research lab, no matter how I look at it.
Papers scattered on the floor, some broken magic tools, some books about black magic and some putrid smell of blood.
"young master! Those two statues must be the catalyst of the demon sealing formation and fog formation outside" Lina said.
"your right, Lina. Either way these place seems to be a research base rather than a temple for God's worship" i replied.
Those two statue of the identical god, mazir. It's two face statues facing away from each other, it must be the faces of mazircuin and mazirfen.
Those two give off an opposite energy, one is ghostly evil, mazircuin statue, and one is holy energy, mazirfen. The statues are holding a similar orb on both palms, the veiny web like network of magic the crawls outside the room is connected with this two orb.
"Lina, we should only dispel the deadly fog outside, and it's too soon to remove the Demon sealing formation, we can't afford for the winter passage to suddenly become active without much preparation" I spoke to Lina with focused gaze, trying to guess in which statue that needs to be destroyed.
"yes, young master I shall do what we must" as she replied, focused her gaze as she unsheathed her sword and used an advanced swordmanship to cut down the statue of mazircuin.
"w-wait Lina what ar-" before I could even reply, the statue of mazircuin explode into smithereens and broke the orb that maintained the magic formation, the veiny cracks in the wall greatly reduced as the statue of mazirfen still holds one orb and intact.
"aack, that stone fragment the flew in my face. It hurts you know, by the way. What the hell are you doing what if you destroyed the wrong one? Do we also have to destroy last one?!" i frowned thinking about it, although it was a beautiful skill she performed, thinking what if she broke the wrong magic formation.

"t-that make sense, I'm sorry for doubting you, im just rather confused, because it looks like we're disarming a bomb, we might cut the wrong fuse" i glanced away embarrassed to look her in the eyes.
As for how both of us wasn't affected by that forests deadly fog, it's entirely on our bloodline, as the skyrel family has an inherent "mental fortitude" ability that could withstand strong mental attacks and corruption, and that's the reason why i only brought Lina in here, those soldier i, Felix brought might not be able to withstand the corruption outside.
