Sheng Shi nodded, his expression unchanged, "Then come home early that day."
"Mhm," Gu Lanshan, although unsure of what Sheng Shi had planned for that day, obediently nodded and agreed.
The two fell silent for a while, and Gu Lanshan thought Sheng Shi had nothing else to say. After the Dragon Boat Festival, the weather in Beijing had gotten hotter. She had gone out today and come back drenched in sweat, planning to go upstairs to take a shower when she saw Sheng Shi pull out a card from his pocket and slowly push it towards her. On it was a white sticky note attached with a paperclip, bearing six digits.
Gu Lanshan hadn't come back to her senses when she heard Sheng Shi's voice, "Your brother's hospital fees need to be paid soon, right? The money in this card is enough, and the pin is written above."
This card was all too familiar to Gu Lanshan; he had handed it to her the morning after their wedding day.
