Sofia Hamilton felt something was off. "Lily, are you hiding something from me?"
Why did it feel like Lily was keeping a promise to someone without telling her?
Lily quickly shook her head. "No, Ms. Hamilton, I am absolutely loyal to you and the company. You mustn't accuse me like that."
She sounded so earnest that Sofia had no choice but to let it go.
As the saying goes, trust the people you employ, and don't employ the people you distrust.
That much, Sofia understood.
There has to be a basic level of trust between people.
But…
Why was there so little trust between her and Ryan Gregory?
"I really don't feel like eating. You should go back. I'd prefer to be alone for a while."
Sofia issued her dismissal. Seeing her insistence, the secretary hesitated but could only sigh regretfully and leave.
She was left alone in the ward.
