Ninety-Six:
Earth
There's a faint memory surfacing into my mind and I try so hard to decipher what it means still I couldn't find an answer to it. And it was already five days since I'm trying to recall those memories I couldn't even sleep because of it.
And I'm going crazy because of it.
"Jeanne!"
Suddenly Chadd came in a hurry and for that instant I quickly remember Asim and hoping I can summon him this time.
"Chaddy!" I grab his hand in a hurry and it shocked him that he couldn't react anymore.
…
"Hey! What's going on?! Why did you bring me here?"
We are at the back of the school where only few students come here, so I knew it's a safe place.
I quickly grab his both hands and hold it tightly as I intently look into his eyes. "Let me talk to you in person…" 'Asim!' I shouted his name through my head and wishing this time he can be summoned but then again…
"Alright!" He pulled out his hands away from me then intently looks at me as if I'm some kind of an insane woman and I can't blame him. I've been acting like this for five days straight and really, I don't have any idea why I couldn't summon Asim out from wherever he is now. "Are you really sure that you're fine?" He seriously asked me and all I could do is to heavily sigh then once again, I surrender.
"So sorry! I didn't mean to look like a crazy mad woman. It just like… I can't explain it."
"Then," he come closer and holds my shoulders. "Look," he said that I did. "Whatever is troubling you, you can freely express it to me and I will try my best to give you an acceptable advice so that you can at least find some peace, okay? So, tell me and I'll listen."
'If you truly can help me, then, I won't feel anxious telling the things no ordinary person can understand.' I silently said to myself.
"Jeanne." He called out my name so gentle and kind and I knew it wasn't Asim.
"So sorry. I just…" I shake my head as I tightly closes my eyes.
"Really? What's bothering you?"
"I… I'm looking for someone."
"Who?"
'You… the one that resides in you.' I wanted to speak it out loud however I stop myself and answered. "You don't know who."
"Just tell me her or his name and maybe––"
"Dione." I speak out the first name that comes to my mind. "Do you know her?"
Chadd seriously think of it and his conclusion is crystal clear. "No, I don't know her, even if I try so hard to find anything about her, I know nothing about her." He answered then, "are you really sure that, it was her name?"
"Yeah!" 'And I really hope I can also summon her but as what I expected.' I added to myself. "Anyway, let's go back."
Chadd stare at me longer enough I feel anxious. "Alright, whoever that was then, why me? Why don't we find her instead of going here just to what?"
As I thought, he will actually ask why I did that instead of doing the right thing to do.
"You know…" I don't know what to say so I just forcibly smile towards him, praying he'll take it as my simple explanation.
"You––" he was about to speak when suddenly the sky begins to change.
The sky that so clear begins to covered with dark clouds and witnessing this kind of event suddenly I remember something I forget. A man and another man standing not far from me.
Who are them? I cannot see their faces clearly no matter how I try. Why?
"Jeanne!" suddenly I finally heard the voice that I've been waiting.
"Asim!" I quickly turned to see him.
"What?" the tone that I was looking for finally, I heard it and even though it is irritable, for the very first time it sounds so pleasant I want to hug him and thank him that he finally show up. "Hey! Whatever is in your mind, don't! Just don't! Okay?"
"As if you knew what am I thinking."
"Yes, indeed!" he exclaimed. "Anyway, what do you want from me?" he asked and added. "And seriously, you were trying to summon me for almost five days. Why?"
"That is because…" I take a deep breath before I answered. "I already regain my memories about Almos." Without hesitation I said the truth and his face turned more serious than ever.
"How did you manage to bring it all back?"
"I can't explain it in details. I just so happened to find out the whole truth after the incident happened to me five days ago."
"Happened to you? Care to explain?"
"I can't."
"Why?"
"Because the memory that I have on that day just suddenly became blurry and I cannot remember anything."
Asim intently stares at me before he said. "You should talk to him in person."
"NO!" I exclaimed it eagerly that surprise Asim. "Sorry!" I quickly apologize.
"I understand, so you don't want to meet him?"
"Yes! I don't want to see not even want to meet him now that I knew he doesn't want me to remember him?"
"Alright I understand. Yet, as a Guardian of Dreams, you cannot avoid him that longer so how will you be able to avoid him?"
"I can avoid him so easily." I answered with full of determination. "And besides, I have my own dilemma right now. And it was all about the memories I'd lost five days ago and that is the only thing why I am trying to summon you. Because I want you to help me to find out about it and by doing so, I know we will need a God or a Goddess to help us out."
"I cannot help you."
"Asim."
"Seriously, you need to face Almos, because he's the only one who can help you."
