Chapter 684 - Chapter 684: The Fiendfyre Curse Never Disappoints

Walking into the tunnel leading to the underground vaults, the goblin drove Andy in a slightly shabby mine cart deep underground.

"Are the vaults unguarded?" Andy asked curiously.

Once they entered the underground vaults, Andy didn't see even one goblin.

"The situation has been pretty unstable lately. Many wizards have left the British wizarding world, which has made our work a lot less busy."

The goblin explained, "Not to mention, no one can steal even a single copper knut from the Gringotts vault."

Andy laughed and asked, "So, what are we doing here?"

Goblin: "…"

If you don't speak, we can still be friends.

Similar to the wizarding community, the long-lasting peace has made these goblins accustomed to a peaceful life.

The Gringotts Bank has not been robbed for a long time, so they naturally assumed that it would never be robbed.

"Speaking of which..."

Andy asked another question, "Aren't you worried that the Death Eaters will attack Gringotts?"

"Haha!"

The goblin scoffed and explained, "Where do you think the Death Eaters' treasure is kept. They keep most of their wealth in Gringotts!"

"That's why their wealth and property were preserved despite the defeat in the last wizard war."

"Because the Ministry of Magic has no right to inspect the vaults of Gringotts!"

So that's how it is!

Andy understood.

It makes some sense now. Sirius Black, the last direct descendant of the Black family, was able to use his family's wealth despite escaping from prison.

This is obviously thanks to Gringotts!

When you put it like this, the existence of Gringotts makes a bit of sense.

If the Ministry of Magic managed the banking sector of the wizarding world, when Sirius Black was arrested, the Ministry would have immediately confiscated all the Black family's assets.

Andy reflected.

If he had to choose between Gringotts and the Ministry's bank, Andy felt that he would definitely choose Gringotts.

After all, even if you do something illegal, the Ministry has no power to freeze your assets.

"Sure enough, there is a reason behind the existence of everything," Andy said under his breath.

When the cart passed a platform, Andy's eyes widened. "You keep a dragon here?"

"Of course!"

The goblin answered proudly, "It is one of the ultimate guardians of the underground vaults."

Andy looked at the dragon for a moment, then raised an eyebrow and said, "It doesn't look to be in the best shape."

The goblin grunted, "Taming a dragon is not that easy."

Andy withdrew his gaze and did not ask any further questions.

Squeak—

With a jarring screech, the cart halted in front of a vault door.

"This is the place!"

The goblin said, "But I must warn you, if you try to destroy the vault door, it will set off an alarm in the Gringotts, and a lot of guards will come rushing in to catch you."

While he was talking, Andy got off the cart with the goblin.

"Thanks for the warning."

Andy said nonchalantly, "If I can't escape, I'll use the Fiendfyre Curse to incinerate the whole of Gringotts."

Goblin: "…"

My apologies; I spoke too soon.

"Hmm..."

After thinking for a moment, Andy held out his wand and cast the Imperius Curse once more on the goblin.

The goblins are greedy.

Andy was worried that the strong stimulus caused by seeing him destroy the vault door would make him break free of the Imperius Curse's control.

"Stand back!"

Andy ordered the goblin and waved his wand to release the Fiendfyre Curse.

Shizzz—

Under the flames of the Fiendfyre Curse, the vault door of the Gringotts Bank, which boasted 'absolute defence', was instantly reduced to ashes.

The Fiendfyre Curse never disappoints!

The vault was full of treasures, and the sight of all the gold almost blinded Andy.

So rich!

Andy had made a lot of money in the past two years, and during his holidays, he had also visited his own vault.

To be honest, Andy was quite satisfied at the time.

But compared to this vault, Andy's was pitiful. The pitiful amount of gold in it could not even fill one small box here.

This is the real vault!

For a moment, Andy wanted to open all the vaults here.

If he managed to open all of them, he would never need to worry about money for the rest of his life.

As the vault door was destroyed, a loud alarm sounded in the Gringotts Bank.

"Hoo..."

'All this is just material wealth!'

'I have big ambitions!'

'To become a powerful wizard and live forever…these are the things I should be pursuing.'

Andy glanced around and saw a golden cup on a high platform at the back of the vault.

That must be the Hufflepuff Cup!

It also happens to be Voldemort's Horcrux!

A burst of fiery flame swept over and instantly engulfed the cup.

"Aaahh!"

A shriek of agony sounded out, and Voldemort's face, made of black mist, opened its mouth wide and lunged at Andy.

Andy waved his wand casually, and the black mist dispersed in an instant.

Done! Finished!

Waving his wand again, the raging fire went out in an instant.

Andy turned around and glanced up at the ceiling.

"It seems that your guards aren't that capable," he said.

Roar—

A dragon roar was heard.

The dragon was struggling desperately, irritated by the alarm.

But the Gringotts guards were still nowhere to be seen.

The goblin was also silent, unable to understand the situation.

"Never mind."

Andy said, "Let's go up!"

In any case, if the guards really came to arrest him, it would just be a fight.

At most, it would be a matter of a Fiendfyre Curse.

Boarding the mine cart, Andy and the goblin slowly drove towards the entrance to the underground vault.

Roar—

Andy couldn't help but glance sideways the moment the mine cart passed the dragon.

The Gringotts had used a lot of cruel methods to tame this dragon. Andy noticed that the shackles that locked the dragon had barbs that had pierced the dragon's hide.

"Big guy, you've met a kind person today!"

What a good joke.

"Hahaha." Andy laughed at his own lame joke, then quickly waved his wand, instantly cutting the shackles restraining the dragon with a silent, invisible blade (sectumsempra).

Clang, clang, clang!

With a few continuous clanging sounds, the dragon regained its freedom.

Roar—

It roared as if venting its anger.

Andy looked up, then raised his wand.

"Bombarda!"

Rumble!!!

With a loud noise, the ceiling of the underground vault instantly exploded, and countless pieces of rubble rained down. Even Andy was affected and had to wave his wand to repel the boulders.

"Leave through here!" Andy shouted at the dragon.

Roar——

The dragon let out another roar.

It flapped its wings with all its might, but its long imprisonment had made its flying skills a bit rusty, and it struggled for a while before it flew out of the hole.

Before leaving, the dragon glanced back at Andy.

It recognised who had saved it.

Andy waved, "See you again sometime!"

It wasn't that Andy didn't want to be a dragon rider, but Andy had to go up there and have a look.

The fact that the Gringotts guards did not appear made Andy a little concerned.

Perhaps... the Death Eaters had already arrived.
