As they walked into Madam Mu's courtyard, Zhang Mengping stopped the Old Man... or rather, it was the confusion in the Old Man's eyes that halted Zhang Mengping's steps.
"If there's anything you want to ask, just ask." Zhang Mengping said as he sat down on the steps.
"You called me back, don't tell me it's because you finally thought about my pension?" The Old Man asked Zhang Mengping with drooping eyes, hands clasped behind his back.
The latter smiled and, while taking out his tobacco pipe, opened his tobacco pouch: "What, you don't believe it."
"I wouldn't believe it even if there were ghosts. If you could actually think of it, you wouldn't have forgotten it for so many years." The Old Man said as he took out his cigarette box: "Stop smoking your old pipe, smoke something better."
