Jacquelyn's sobs reduced when she felt her nose itch. She wanted to sneeze. That was also when she realized how closely she was holding Kael, and not just that... earlier, Kael had- No!! Jacquelyn screamed in her head. She had stayed still, letting herself get licked. Her cheeks turned red, both from cold and embarrassment. Slowly, she raised her face, looking up at Kael, and to her greatest shock, those golden orbs locked with her eyes. Jacquelyn immediately moved back, almost losing her footing, but Kael's hand was quick to wrap around her waist.
"Achoo!" Jacquelyn sneezed and quickly covered her mouth with her hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—"
Kael continued to stare unblinkingly at the girl. Her wet hair now relaxed on her face, and the paleness of her small lips was striking. With her two hands now held close to her chest and her eyes darting anxiously, it made Kael think of a wet hamster trying to protect its food. He sighed, helping her stand properly on her feet.
