Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

22

Rhoda's POV:

Why did mason had to butt in at the worst of all times?! I was so damn close to teaching that silly little omega a huge lesson! All It would have taken was one clean swipe to remove her eyes from her head.

"Argh!" I screamed out, kicking a punching bag so hard. I had to take out my frustrations somehow, and what better way to do that than in a fucking gym?!

"She's going to pay for this! For embarrassing me this way in front of everyone!" I seethed in anger, my face completely dark with rage, my hands curled into tight fiats.

Mason. For goodness sake why did he have to butt in?! And why now?! He's never shown any interest in any of my fights before. He lets me be, he let's me pummel whoever I want to pummel into the damned ground. Why did he stand up for Violet?! what is so special about that hussy?!

Throwing a succession of kicks and blows at the punching bag, I imagined it was Violet's face being assaulted with my fists. If mason had interrupted I'm pretty sure she would have been sent to the pack hospital for compound fractures.

Now the pack members have started gossipping about me. I'm weaker than violet?! What a stupid joke! I'm the strongest warrior in this pack! There's no way that outsider is stronger than me.

I paused, breathing hard and heavy. Sweat poured down my body, my heart pumped blood hard and fast throughout my body. I felt alive, I felt like I could take on anyone.

"Hey, Rhoda?" I heard Nicole's voice from the door. I turned to her, a cold glare on my face. "You okay?" She asked, worry on her face.

"Am I okay?!" I snapped. "No, how the fuck can I be?! didn't you see what just happened out there?! That little omega had me floored!"

"She didn't." Nicole shuffled over to me. "She didn't, not by a long shot. You just took it easy on her."

I scoffed, picking up my water bottle. "Yeah fucking right." I chugged down the entire water in five gulps.

I know I didn't take it easy on her, I had given that fight a good hand.. something about that girl isn't normal. She didn't fight like an omega. Heck no. It felt like I was fighting a... Something suddenly hits my head.

"Rhoda," Nicole touched my arm and pulled me out of my spiraling thoughts. "Hey, what's wrong?"

I turned to Nicole. "I have a job for you."

Her eyes brightened, ever so eager to serve. "What do you want me to do?"

"Dig out everything you can find about that omega. Something is fishy about her." I said, giving Nicole a stern look. "And of course I don't need to tell you to be smart so that Mason doesn't find you, right?"

She nodded, enthusiasm on her face. "I'll do just that! You know you can count on me!"

I smiled. "Excellent." Soon I'll find out what she's hiding. It's only a matter of time.

Mason's POV:

I don't know what's wrong with me.

This iso unlike me to get close to a woman this way. Especially Violet. I can't tell why I'm getting close to her. Immediately my beta told me that she was on the battle field with Rhoda, it felt like something had snapped inside of me.

I knew Rhoda to be rough when it comes to fighting, she's ruthless and strong, destroying anything and anyone that stands in her way. Before I could even reply, I found himself running to the field. To my greatest surprise, I saw Violet holding herself up against Rhoda. Her fighting skills amazed me, so much that I had to pause a few feet Way and just watch. She loved with such a grace and fluidity, even having the confidence to wink at the gathering crowd of spectators. I felt like I could relax, she's holding up fine.

Until Rhoda started to shift. I knew I had to step in.

Now at the garden, inside of me I know that I have uncovered her biggest secret. But at the same time I needed to keep her safe. And working for me seems the best way to keep her safe, that way I'll be able to keep an eye on her and she'll need it to fend for herself if she was going to stay long in the pack house. I was more than relieved when she accepted.

"It's really peaceful today," Violet said, walking beside me.

I turned to look at her and smiled. "Yes, it is." I replied. Like she hadn't just gotten into a fight. "I have something for you," I said.

Her eyes lit up. "What is it?"

I showed her the items inside the box. I took out the crystal owl and showed it to her.

"Wow, it's lovely," She gasped, reaching out to take the owl. It caught the sun rays and reflected a kaleidoscope of colors. She looked up at me. "It's really beautiful,"

I'm sure it is. But the other item I have is even better and I can't wait to see her reaction. I took out the pendant and showed it to her, watching her expression very closely. Her eyes flashed with shock as she saw the pendant.

"This looks very familiar," She said, her eyes wide.

"You had something like it?" I asked, hoping to glean the truth from her.

"Yeah," She laughed, holding the blue stone pendant like it was made out of glass. A look of nostalgia came on her face as she stared at it. "I had something similar to it, my friend gave it to me when I was growing up. It's just so....I'm sorry, I'm rambling."

Dear heavens! There's no way this was happening. I was stunned, could it be her? Was Violet the one I'm looking for?

I need proof, a solid concrete proof.

One minute, Violet was standing an inch away from Me, the next , I pulled her close acting as though I was about to lose my footing

"Oh my," She gasped, holding on to me. "Are you okay?"

My eyes narrowed as I stared at her neck. The mark was there, clear and bold for the world to see.

This can't be happening. Violet is Aria?
