Chapter 259: An Unexpected Surprise: The Remains of a Dou Zong and the Necro Puppet

Seeing the Jade Blue Crystal, a fiery glint flashed in Mo Yu's eyes. Without further hesitation, he waved his hand, and the massive crystal was instantly stored in his storage ring.

After securing the Jade Blue Crystal, Mo Yu breathed a sigh of relief. The hard-fought battle with the Storm Wolf pack had finally paid off.

"These items are precious, but they are not the main treasures. There should be something even more valuable here," Snake Uncle suddenly appeared, his hands behind his back, smiling.

"Something more valuable?" Mo Yu was taken aback, showing a thoughtful expression.

"If ordinary people saw the Jade Blue Crystal, they would likely think, just like you, that it is the ultimate treasure. However, they wouldn't realize that by focusing solely on it, they may be discarding something even more precious," Snake Uncle said, his cold eyes flashing with a hint of contemplation.

Hearing this, Mo Yu seemed to realize something and murmured, "Snake Uncle, are you suggesting that there's an even greater treasure here? Could it be... the remains of a powerful warrior?"

"You're a sharp one," Snake Uncle nodded approvingly at Mo Yu's quick thinking. He then gestured toward the massive green stone.

"Considering how large the Jade Blue Crystal you just collected is, you can imagine how much spatial energy it absorbed. This suggests that beneath this green stone lies either the fresh remains of a powerful warrior or the bones of someone so strong that even after death, their spatial energy still lingers, forming such a massive Jade Blue Crystal."

Upon hearing this, Mo Yu's silver eyes lit up. If he could obtain the remains of a powerful Dou Zun, Snake Uncle's resurrection plan could finally move forward.

In the original story, Xiao Yan, a renowned alchemist, had made numerous preparations to resurrect Yao Lao. In addition to the eight-grade pill "Bone-Merging Blood Pill," the most crucial element was a suitable body.

Since a soul has no physical form, a new body is essential for resurrection. Mo Yu, being a weapon refiner, had his own methods to revive Snake Uncle, but he still needed a proper body.

Mo Yu recalled that when Xiao Yan was preparing to revive Yao Lao, he initially found a Dou Zong peak-level skeleton. Later, it was replaced by a four-star Dou Zun skeleton, thanks to Feng Zun-zhe's help. Additionally, during the revival, Xiao Yan replaced one of the arms with that of a fallen Dou Sheng (Dou Saint), which greatly benefited Yao Lao.

After merging with the new body, Yao Lao was able to break through and become a high-level Half-Sage, demonstrating the importance of the new body in a soul's resurrection.

The chance of obtaining a powerful warrior's remains now filled Mo Yu with excitement. Snake Uncle had helped him immensely along the way, and now that he had the opportunity to revive him, Mo Yu wasn't about to let it slip away.

"Move this green stone aside, and then use your spear to dig gently. Remember, don't use too much force. Although a powerful skeleton won't be easily damaged, it's better to be cautious," Snake Uncle said solemnly, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he sketched out a general area on the ground for Mo Yu.

"Don't worry, Snake Uncle. Whether or not there is a powerful skeleton beneath, one day, I will definitely bring you back to life," Mo Yu said seriously, nodding his head. He then took out the Black Thunder Spear from his beast ring, carefully wrapping it in Dou Qi, and after moving the green stone aside, he began digging at the spot Snake Uncle had indicated.

Thanks to the Dou Qi protecting the spear and the high-quality material of the Black Thunder Spear, the digging went quickly. With just a light touch, the spear tip sank into the ground as smoothly as if it were tofu.

Gripping the spear tightly, Mo Yu made sure not to let it tremble in the slightest. He moved the spear precisely along the lines Snake Uncle had marked. The soft scraping sound echoed in the still air.

"Crack."

After about ten minutes of careful digging, the spear suddenly struck something hard. Delighted, Mo Yu knelt down, using his hands to brush away the dirt.

"Is this... a bone finger?"

As the dirt cleared, a gray-white bone appeared before Mo Yu. Despite being buried underground for so long, it was clearly a human finger bone.

Seeing the finger bone, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, pleased that his efforts were paying off. He carefully put the spear away and retrieved a jade piece from his beast ring, using it to gently excavate the rest of the skeleton.

After about fifteen minutes of delicate work, a complete gray-white skeleton finally emerged, lying before Mo Yu and Snake Uncle.

The skeleton, approximately 1.8 meters tall, had a large gash across its right ribcage, suggesting it had suffered severe injuries. Despite being just bones, it still exuded a chilling aura of power.

"Is this... the skeleton of a peak Dou Zong?" Snake Uncle frowned slightly as he sensed the power lingering around the bones.

He circled the skeleton twice before stopping, his cold eyes narrowing as he pointed at the pit Mo Yu had just dug.

"Something's not right, Mo Yu. Keep digging. A peak Dou Zong shouldn't have been able to generate such a large Jade Blue Crystal. There should be another skeleton below!" Snake Uncle said, his voice firm.

Mo Yu froze for a moment, then quickly realized what Snake Uncle meant. He nodded and continued digging.

Half an hour later, after much effort, Mo Yu emerged from the pit, drenched in sweat, with another skeleton.

This one was fiery red in color. Even though its owner had perished long ago, an intense heat and overwhelming presence still radiated from it.

Mo Yu could sense that the strength of this skeleton's owner was no less than that of the gray-white skeleton.

"Another peak Dou Zong skeleton..." Mo Yu murmured in slight disappointment.

He had hoped to find the remains of a Dou Zun, but instead, there were two peak Dou Zong skeletons. While the gap between Dou Zong and Dou Zun was only a single step, that step was as vast as heaven and earth.

"It seems these two were rivals, battling to the death hundreds of years ago, both dying here together. You've struck it rich, kid," Snake Uncle remarked with a sigh.

The remains of a peak Dou Zong warrior were priceless treasures. Even in Central Plains, such a find would cause countless people to fight over it.

Hearing Snake Uncle's words, Mo Yu shook off his disappointment and smiled to himself.

Indeed, as Snake Uncle said, a peak Dou Zong was still a top-tier expert, even in Central Plains. Dou Zun warriors weren't common, and the leaders of major powers were often just Dou Zuns. Why would a Dou Zun die in obscurity in the Black-Corner Region?

Though his plan to create a body for Snake Uncle had to be postponed, Mo Yu was content with his current haul. Crafting a body from Dou Zong bones would have to wait for another time.

As he snapped out of his thoughts, Mo Yu's gaze landed on the two skeletons again, and he smiled with excitement.

Despite his earlier disappointment, obtaining two peak Dou Zong skeletons was still an incredible gain.

Moreover, in Mo Yu's mind, there was a powerful human-shaped weapon known as a "Necro Puppet." This weapon didn't require its owner to control it and was a true instrument of destruction—emotionless, invulnerable, and merciless.

In essence, the Necro Puppet was similar to the Sky Demon Puppet that Xiao Yan acquired after defeating the Demon Flame Valley, though it differed in some details.

This human-shaped killing machine needed the bones of powerful warriors to be crafted. The stronger the warrior in life, the more powerful the Necro Puppet would be.

These two skeletons would be perfect to showcase the power of a Necro Puppet to the Dou Qi Continent.

With that thought, Mo Yu didn't hesitate. He waved his hand, storing the gray-white and fiery red skeletons in his beast ring.

"Since I'm already here, I might as well take everything," Mo Yu said cheerfully.

Having obtained two peak Dou Zong skeletons, Mo Yu was in high spirits. He glanced at the Wolf King's collection and wasted no time, putting everything into his beast ring.

Though the value of these items couldn't compare to the Jade Blue Crystal and Dou Zong skeletons, they were still precious resources. As the leader of his own faction, Mo Yu understood the importance of such treasures. These magic cores and materials would be a significant asset for his sect.

After gathering everything, Mo Yu circled the Wolf King's cave one last time. Seeing that there was nothing else to find, he turned and quickly flew out, retracing his steps.

Since he was now familiar with the path, it took Mo Yu much less time to leave the cave. In less than twenty minutes, he had exited the cave and was flying out of the valley.

As he flew, he glanced into the distance. Night had already fallen, and in the darkness, faint flashes of seven-colored light and thunderous explosions could still be seen and heard from outside the valley.

Seeing the seven-colored light still shining brightly, Mo Yu flapped his wings, his body turning into a shadow as he silently flew through the night. After a while, he paused, floating in mid-air at the mouth of the valley, his gaze sweeping over the battlefield below. He couldn't help but click his tongue in awe.

The entrance to the valley had been utterly devastated. The once-flat ground was now filled with massive craters, and giant boulders had fallen from the cliffs, scattered everywhere. The surrounding forest had also been partially destroyed, with fallen trees blocking much of the path.

In the battlefield, the Heaven-Devouring Python was still coiled in the sky, emitting waves of seven-colored light. Its powerful aura caused all the magical beasts within a ten-mile radius to tremble in fear.

Looking down, Mo Yu's eyes narrowed as he spotted the Storm Wolf King on the ground.

The Wolf King's once-pristine white fur had been half-melted by the corrosive venom of the Heaven-Devouring Python. Blood dripped from its enormous head, making it look even more terrifying.

The giant body of the Storm Wolf King was covered in both old wounds from Mo Yu and new injuries from the recent battle, caused by the powerful energies crashing into it.

The once-mighty Storm Wolf King's breath was now weak, and its enormous beastly eyes revealed fear and fatigue. Clearly, facing the Heaven-Devouring Python had drained all of its fighting spirit.

On the other side of the battlefield, thanks to the help of Pan Men and Yue Ling, Mo Clan members were easily handling the Storm Wolf pack. Though some members were injured, most were enjoying the battle.

Mo Yu's reappearance caught the attention of both the Mo Clan and the Heaven-Devouring Python, as well as the Storm Wolf King. The Python flicked its tongue excitedly at Mo Yu, while the Wolf King let out an uneasy, angry growl.

"Hehe, if only you had known this would happen earlier, Wolf King. Do you still wish to fight?" Mo Yu chuckled, his eyes turning to the Heaven-Devouring Python. The seven-colored scales on its body had dimmed slightly, showing that the fierce battle had taken its toll.

Patting the Python's head gently, Mo Yu pulled out a bottle of Purple Crystal Essence from his beast ring, smiling as he said, "Here, little one, you did well tonight. Eat your fill this time."

As soon as the Purple Crystal Essence appeared, the Heaven-Devouring Python let out a delighted hiss. It stuck its tongue into the bottle and, with a single gulp, consumed nearly a third of the essence.

"Hmph! Human, if it weren't for that snake, you would never be my match!" the Wolf King growled angrily, seeing the Python so affectionate toward Mo Yu.

The Wolf King knew that if Mo Yu had emerged from the valley, it meant that everything in its lair had likely fallen into Mo Yu's hands. This only deepened the Storm Wolf King's fury.

"Oh? It seems you're still not convinced, Wolf King. Shall we continue?" Mo Yu smiled lightly, about to order the Python to attack again when a defeated voice suddenly echoed.

"Enough. I admit defeat. You can leave."

Seeing Mo Yu about to unleash the Heaven-Devouring Python again, the Wolf King panicked and quickly conceded.

Not surprised by the surrender, Mo Yu turned to his companions and said, "Since the Wolf King has spoken, let's head back to the Inner Academy."

"Long live the boss!" the members of Mo Clan cheered loudly. Even Pan Men and Yue Ling's people were excited by the victory.

After all, they had just bested a fifth-rank magical beast, comparable to a human Dou Wang, and it had hundreds of powerful Storm Wolves under its command. To have subdued such a beast was an accomplishment that would make many envious if news reached the Inner Academy.

And it was all thanks to Mo Yu.

In the dark night, over a hundred shadows, led by Mo Yu, quietly vanished from the valley, leaving behind the wary gaze of the Storm Wolf pack.
