Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Brother Vs Sister (7)

The Indigo League stadium trembled, not from an attack, but from the sheer presence radiating from Annihilape. The air thickened, a palpable wave of energy rolling off the hulking Pokémon like heat from a furnace. It wasn't just power—it was raw, unfiltered emotion: anger, anguish, and a simmering hatred that pulsed in ghostly tendrils, intertwining with the fierce vigor of a Fighting-type spirit.

Lee stood tall, fists clenched, his fur bristling as if electrified, his red eyes blazing with a fury.

The crowd felt it in their bones—a primal force that prickled their skin and set their hearts racing, an aura so intense it seemed to warp the very space around him.

Gladion smirked, arms crossed, basking in the moment. Gwen's Vaporeon flinched, its tail flicking nervously as the water rippled beneath it.

[W-what's with this guy?!] Vaporeon yelped, backing up a step. Her earlier confidence replaced by the aura of strength and anguish that she was feeling from the Annhilape.

[He's giving me the heebie-jeebies—like a Poliwrath on a rampage, but spookier!]

Annihilape glared, pounding a fist into his palm. [Keep whining, water weasel—I'll make you a ghost's bath toy!] The threat hung heavy, his voice a guttural growl that sent a shiver through the stands.

High in the VIP box, the Elite Four, Professor Oak, and Champions Lance and Pryce shot to their feet, their drinks forgotten, eyes wide as the aura washed over them.

Blaine, the Fire-type sage, adjusted his glasses, his voice low but firm. "There's no doubt about it. Whoever this Pokémon is, it's at the level of an elite Pokémon and from what I could tell it just evolved from whatever it's pre-evolution is. It has room to growth so we are looking at a very strong elite Pokémon. That energy… it's refined, concentrated, like a volcano ready to blow."

Agatha leaned forward, her usual cackle replaced by a rare, steely seriousness. "That's not all. It's a Ghost-type—mark my words. I've seen plenty of spectral terrors in my day, from every region during the Infinite Wars—Gengar swarms in Johto, Mismagius covens in Sinnoh—but this? I've never laid eyes on its like. The anger, the anguish, the hatred pouring off it—it's a cauldron of ghost energy I can't fathom. It's not even half as strong as my own team yet, but with that output? It'll surpass them in a heartbeat if it keeps growing."

Bruno wiped sweat from his brow, his massive frame tensing as he squinted at Annihilape. "Are you sure it's a Ghost-type, Agatha? 'Cause I'm feeling something else—Fighting-type energy, loud and clear. It's like a Hitmonlee's spirit got mashed into a coffin and came back swinging!"

Agatha nodded, her gaze unwavering. "Oh, it's Ghost alright—the spectral signature's unmistakable. But you're not wrong, Bruno. That Fighting essence is woven in, thick as steel. It's dual-natured—Ghost and Fighting, a hybrid I've never encountered. The rage is fueling both sides, amplifying each other like a feedback loop."

Blaine rubbed his chin, intrigued. "A dual-type anomaly, huh? I am guessing that this is an evolution to Primeape. I had my doubts about it but looking at this Pokémon I am pretty sure about it."

His internal thoughts were chaotic though 'That man would want the secret of this Pokémon, no doubt. Now what to do....'

Bruno flexed, still sweating. "Weapon's right—I'd hate to spar that thing! My Machamp'd be punching shadows and eating fists. How's it packing both energies so hard? My head's spinning just feeling it!"

Lance, silent until now, crossed his arms, his cape fluttering faintly. "It's not just power—it's intent. That aura's got a will of its own, like it's daring us to challenge it. I've seen Dragon-types with less presence."

Pryce, the Indigo Champion, grunted, leaning on his cane. Not interested to comment on anything.

Oak, ever the enthusiast, clapped his hands, his voice brimming with glee. "I thought I'd seen it all, folks! Decades of research, and this world still throws curveballs! A Fighting-Ghost Pokémon—my year's made! I'll need to update my Pokédex—maybe invent a whole new category! 'Angry Spirits Who Punch Things'—has a nice ring, doesn't it?" He chuckled, picturing himself chasing Annihilape with a net, only to get a Rage Fist to the face.

The announcer's voice exploded over the speakers, wild with shock and excitement. "Folks, we are witnessing a never-before-seen Pokémon! What is that thing?! Even the experts up top are scratching their heads—Elite Four, Champions, Professor Oak—all stumped! Gladion Vortex has pulled a mystery straight out of the shadows, and it's radiating power like a living legend!"

The crowd erupted, a mix of awe and confusion. "What's it called?!" a guy shouted, waving a Machamp flag. "That thing's a beast—Gladion's unstoppable!" a girl cheered, clutching a Milotic plushie.

Gwen, meanwhile, froze mid-taunt, her ghost aura tingling as Annihilape's energy hit her like a freight train. She could feel it—thick, suffocating Ghost-type power, laced with a fury radiating from thak Pokemon.

'Holy Haunter—that's a Ghost-type for sure,' she thought, eyes widening.

'But I've never seen one like it! Is it from some secret cave Agatha forgot to mention?' Instead of fear, though, excitement bubbled up—she was a Vortex, after all. She clapped her hands, grinning at Gladion. "Nay Nay, my sweet little bro, where did you find this cutiepie?! He's adorable—all grumpy and punchy! I want one too—spill the beans!"

Gladion stared at her like she'd just asked to borrow his toothbrush. 'Cutiepie? She's lost it.'His mind raced—'Why would I help her get an Annihilape? If everyone has one, it'd ruin the charm of me being the only badass with this raging ghost ape!' He smirked, shaking his head. "Nope. Not telling, you spooky weirdo. Figure it out yourself."

Gwen's grin vanished, replaced by a scowl that could curdle milk. "What?! You stingy jerk—keeping all the cool toys to yourself! I'd find it on my own then!!" She stomped a foot, her ghost aura flaring like a tantrum. "I'll scour every haunted forest, every creepy cave—Agatha'll hook me up! You'll see, I'll have a whole army of those grumpy cuties, and they'll punch your smug face into next week!"

Gladion snorted, crossing his arms. "Good luck, sis—you'll need a map and a brain transplant first. Lee's one-of-a-kind, and he's staying that way. Cry about it."

"Cry?!" Gwen snapped, jabbing a finger at him. "I'll cry when I'm polishing my Beldum in grandpa's room, you selfish turtle-brain! Vaporeon's gonna splash your ape silly!"

"Oh, please," Gladion shot back, smirking wider. "Lee'll turn your water kitty into a ghost's chew toy. Keep dreaming, gremlin—second place suits you!"

The siblings' bickering echoed, their Pokémon squaring off as the stadium held its breath.
