Facing four powerful Pokemon with only three at her disposal, Kalia felt immense pressure. However, there was no turning back now; she had to engage in battle.
If she lost, Kalia would undoubtedly face attacks, potentially losing not just the Strength Lens and Charmeleon but possibly more, which was absolutely unacceptable for her.
A surge of anger arose within Kalia, directed towards this member of the Dark Guild.
As Ninetales entered the field, its Drought Ability activated, causing the weather to become scorching hot across a wide area, covering most of the region.
Lian scrutinized the opposing four Pokemon: Weavile and Bisharp seemed the easiest targets due to their vulnerability to Fire-type moves. He considered taking them out first with swift attacks.
However, doing so would inevitably invite a coordinated assault from the remaining Pokemon. Despite Lian's strong defensive capabilities, he couldn't withstand all of them simultaneously.
"Attack together!" the Dark Guild member commanded indifferently. In such battles, detailed instructions were unnecessary; allowing the Pokemon to act freely sufficed. With merely three Pokemon, Kalia stood little chance against the onslaught of four.
The four Pokemon charged immediately, with Weavile being the fastest, followed by Staraptor, Krookodile, and finally Slash Power.
"Charmeleon, evade their attacks as much as possible and use Flamethrower. Grovyle and Ninetales, focus on defending!" Kalia calmly directed her strategy. The key to this battle was Charmeleon, while Grovyle and Ninetales needed to prioritize defense.
Only if Charmeleon survived could it systematically defeat each opponent's Pokemon one by one; otherwise, they were certain to lose. And losing was not an option Kalia could bear.
Before Kalia issued her commands, Lian had already initiated his attack. With four opposing Pokemon, he knew he must eliminate one first to alleviate pressure.
He targeted Weavile, the fastest among them. Although seemingly less threatening as a dark-ice type, Weavile's high speed made it a formidable attacker, necessitating its immediate neutralization.
This wasn't a regulated match, and facing simultaneous assaults from multiple Pokemon, Kalia wouldn't have time to issue timely orders.
Lian disregarded Kalia's command and immediately unleashed Flamethrower, targeting the swiftly approaching Weavile at the forefront.
With its high speed base stat of 125, this Weavile was clearly at least level 45 or higher, making it significantly faster than Lian. It had to be dealt with as a priority.
Lian remained intensely focused, knowing his opponent was undoubtedly a formidable member of the Dark Guild. Being able to train four Pokemon to their highest evolved forms indicates a minimum mid-level Trainer status; he couldn't afford any momentary lapse in vigilance.
Weavile is doubly weak against Fire-type moves, presenting the best opportunity for Lian to strike first, and thus, eliminating it became imperative. Otherwise, with Weavile's exceptional speed, any injury sustained by Lian would instantly lead to a fatal attack from the swift Pokemon.
As Weavile charged towards him, Lian promptly released his move, spewing forth a burst of scorching flames directly aimed at the oncoming adversary.
Having achieved a Control Rating of 40%, Lian felt significantly more adept at manipulating fire energy. He could effortlessly alter the shape of the flames he emitted.
The Weavile clearly attempted to evade the Flamethrower, showcasing its agility as it charged towards Lian and effortlessly dodged the initial blast.
However, Lian wouldn't let the Weavile escape so easily. At that moment, the stream of flames appeared to split abruptly, with part separating from behind and directly targeting the Weavile.
This was the application of Flame Split, made possible by Lian's 40% Control Rating, allowing for greater flexibility in using such moves.
Although Weavile avoided the initial burst of flames, it did not anticipate the sudden separation of the trailing fire. Caught off guard, it collided head-on into the scorching inferno.
Without even glancing at the Weavile, Lian instantly surged forward because Staraptor had charged towards him, employing Wing Attack. He knew he must dodge this move; otherwise, the consequences would be severe.
The side effects of Solar Power were already kicking in, making it crucial for Lian to avoid any attacks. These Pokemon were around level 40-50, and while one hit might not defeat him outright, combined with the Solar Power debuff, it could significantly impair his combat ability.
Lian swiftly burst to the side, reaching a speed of over 1,700 ability points, instantly evading Staraptor's Wing Attack.
Meanwhile, Grovyle and Ninetales had engaged with the other two Pokemon, but the situation looked grim. Both Slash Power and Krookodile possessed exceptionally high attack capabilities, making it difficult for Grovyle and Ninetales to hold their own.
Ninetales was already caught in Krookodile's jaws, seemingly unable to withstand much longer, while Grovyle fared slightly better by relying on its speed to outmaneuver the slower Bisharp. However, defeat appeared inevitable as they were clearly outmatched.
Feeling anxious, Lian knew that once Grovyle and Ninetales fell, all three opposing Pokemon would focus their attacks on him. Alone, he couldn't possibly handle them simultaneously.
Despite having the system, which made him significantly stronger than others at his level, these opponent Pokemon were around levels forty to fifty, and all highly evolved forms with formidable power. Unless Lian could evolve into Charizard, engaging them directly on the ground seemed futile, leading only to certain defeat.
Lian didn't bother checking on Weavile's condition, confident that he had instantly defeated it.
Although Lian intentionally interrupted his Flamethrower to hit Weavile, reducing its full power, the attack still remained potent.
With the amplification from Sunny Day and Solar Power, combined with Weavile's weakness to Fire-type moves, being struck by Flamethrower guaranteed its defeat.
Indeed, as soon as Weavile was hit, it endured the intense heat and scorching flames, displaying clear signs of pain.
The blazing fire continuously burned Weavile; even though the Flamethrower was weakened after splitting, it was still too much for Weavile to withstand.
In the next moment, Weavile weakly collapsed onto the ground, losing its ability to battle—resulting in an instant knockout.
After dodging Staraptor's Wing Attack, Lian seized the opportunity and swiftly cast Weather Ball. A massive gas sphere formed in the air, rapidly expanding like an inflating balloon, transforming into a fiery red colossal orb.
Lian directed the Weather Ball towards the ground, not at Staraptor but aimed squarely at Krookodile.
Compared to Slash Power and Staraptor, Krookodile posed the greatest threat. This Krookodile likely possessed the Earthquake move, but due to concern for other Pokemon nearby, it had been using Crunch instead. However, if it perceived Lian as a significant threat, it would undoubtedly resort to Earthquake without hesitation.
With nowhere to hide, Lian would be instantly defeated by Earthquake. Therefore, his Weather Ball targeted not Staraptor but swiftly descended upon Krookodile, currently battling Ninetales. Even if it affected Ninetales inadvertently, there was no choice in this situation.
"How is this possible?!"
The Dark Guild member's relaxed demeanor shifted abruptly after witnessing Weavile being instantly defeated. In their view, even with Kalia's timely commands, her three Pokemon should have struggled under such simultaneous attacks and quickly crumbled.
However, in just one exchange, Charmeleon unexpectedly took out Weavile while evading Staraptor's Wing Attack—an outcome that seemed utterly inconceivable.
