"Fire Division?" Lin Langtian paused, surprised by Aunt Ling's suggestion. "Is it because I have a natural affinity with fire?"
"Yes, more or less," Aunt Ling replied. "The Yuan Gate's Eight Divisions are fairly balanced in strength, so any one of them could help you grow. Given your talent with fire, though, the Fire Division could help you bring out your strengths."
Lin Langtian nodded, understanding her reasoning. With the Beast Fire of the Nine Nether Flame Sparrow and the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame, he was certainly at an advantage in fire manipulation. If there were little difference between divisions, Fire Division would clearly suit him best.

Known as 'Chaos Flame,' it's incredibly destructive—even more potent than the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame. However, it was contaminated during an ancient war by the energy of a demon tribe elder.
"Rather than weaken, it slowly absorbed that demonic energy and transformed into what's now called the Chaos Demon Flame. Eventually, it fell into the hands of Yuan Gate's Fire Division. Over time, however, because it contains too much dark energy, no master has been able to tame it, so it's remained a kind of 'guardian emblem' in the Fire Division."
"Chaos Demon Flame…" Lin Langtian whispered, intrigued. To him, the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame was already immensely powerful, among the continent's mightiest. If this Chaos Demon Flame surpassed that power, its potential for destruction would be immense. It was unfortunate such a powerful flame had been tainted by demonic energy—a reflection of the bitter ancient war that created it.
"With your demon seed and your knowledge of otherworldly demon energy, you might be able to tame the Chaos Demon Flame," Aunt Ling suggested.
"Join the Fire Division… and try to capture the Chaos Demon Flame?" Lin Langtian mused. As Aunt Ling explained, a plan began to form in his mind.
"Yes," she continued. "If you obtain the Chaos Demon Flame, it will benefit you in three major ways. First, with a flame this powerful—stronger than the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame—your battle strength would increase significantly. Second, fusing the Chaos Demon Flame with your Fire Furnace would further the power of your Black Flame Dominator Body, an extremely promising combat style with immense growth potential. Finally, because it contains demonic energy, when you use it, it would allow you to disguise your own demonic aura. You'd be able to activate your demon seed and channel otherworldly demonic powers without raising suspicion."
Hearing this, Lin Langtian's eyes lit up, his interest fully piqued. Aunt Ling's three points each held unique advantages. "So, these are the Eight Spirit Generals," Lin Langtian murmured. The Spirit Generals, as Yuan Gate's most formidable disciples after the Three Kings, held notable positions within the sect. Each served as the chief personal disciple within their division. In a different timeline, Lin Dong had easily defeated these Spirit Generals after mastering the arts at Dao Sect, reducing their reputations to nothing. Yet now, as a new member of Yuan Gate, Lin Langtian felt the pressure they exerted.
But pressure only fueled his ambition. If he aimed to conquer the Chaos Demon Flame, he would likely have to rise within the Fire Division ranks, perhaps even replacing its Spirit General.

Legend has it that this flame, originally known as the 'Primordial Chaos Flame,' formed at the beginning of time itself. It absorbed the first primordial energies of this world, making it immensely powerful. Its destructive force is said to rival even the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame. However, during an ancient war, this flame became tainted by the demonic energy of an otherworldly demon.
"Instead of being extinguished, it absorbed the demonic energy and evolved into the Chaos Demon Flame. Eventually, it came to be held by the Fire Division in Yuan Gate. But due to the strong demonic presence within it, no one in Yuan Gate has ever been able to tame it, and over time, it became something of a revered symbol for the Fire Division."

But here was a flame even more potent, rumored to have the power to lay waste to worlds. It was unfortunate, though, that even such a powerful flame was tainted by demonic energy, a reflection of the intensity of the ancient war.
"Given your demon seed and familiarity with demonic energy, you may have a chance at taming this Chaos Demon Flame," Aunt Ling suggested.
"Join the Fire Division... and try to claim the Chaos Demon Flame?" Lin Langtian murmured, his curiosity piqued as Aunt Ling laid out a plan.
"Yes," Aunt Ling continued, "this flame would benefit you in three important ways. First, with a flame even more potent than the Vermillion Bird's Heavenly Flame, your battle power would increase immensely. Second, if you integrate the Chaos Demon Flame into your Fire Furnace, it could greatly enhance your Black Flame Dominator Body, which has incredible potential as a combat technique. Lastly, because this flame contains demonic energy, using it would mask the demonic aura of your demon seed. You could then safely draw on your demonic powers, with the Chaos Demon Flame providing perfect cover."
Lin Langtian's eyes brightened, and he felt a surge of excitement. Aunt Ling's reasoning made perfect sense, and the benefits of claiming the Chaos Demon Flame were impossible to ignore, especially the ability to mask his demon seed's aura. Up until now, he had avoided using his demonic abilities to prevent suspicion, but the Chaos Demon Flame could allow him to wield his full power with impunity.
"Then it's settled—I'll join the Fire Division," he decided, glancing at Liu Tong's back as he led the group. Aunt Ling's description of the Chaos Demon Flame had thoroughly captivated him.

"Liu Tong, you're back." A cold voice broke the silence. Lin Langtian looked up to see a group of figures standing on the platform. At the front were eight middle-aged men, each radiating a powerful aura. These, Lin Langtian assumed, were likely the vice leaders of Yuan Gate's Eight Divisions.
Lin Langtian also noticed a younger disciple standing beside each of the eight vice leaders—eight elite disciples with notably strong auras, even more powerful than the patrol disciples they had met earlier.
"So, these must be the Eight Spirit Generals," Lin Langtian mused to himself. In Yuan Gate's hierarchy, the Eight Spirit Generals were the most skilled disciples after the Three Kings, each serving as the chief disciple of their division. While Lin Dong had easily defeated these Eight Spirit Generals in another timeline, Lin Langtian was now entering Yuan Gate as a novice. At present, their power represented a genuine challenge.
But for Lin Langtian, challenges brought motivation. If he were to claim the Chaos Demon Flame, he might even have to replace the current Spirit General of the Fire Division.
"Greetings, Vice Leaders," Liu Tong stepped forward, bowing respectfully to the eight men. Though he held a similar status to a Dao Sect elder, he was merely a regular deacon in Yuan Gate, which demonstrated Yuan Gate's immense strength.
