Outside the Village Hidden in the Mist, Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki followed Sasuke as he strode openly into Kirigakure.
At that moment, although there was no immediate reaction from the village, Mitsuki couldn't help but feel a little worried. "Master Sasuke, we're shinobi from Konoha. Entering the Mist Village like this, especially at a time like this... surely we'll be noticed!"
Sasuke glanced back at Mitsuki. "And?"
"Shouldn't we... perhaps disguise ourselves or something? It might help avoid unnecessary trouble!"
Hearing this, Sasuke shook his head. "Not necessary."
Those three forceful words made Mitsuki acutely aware of the intense fury burning within Uchiha Sasuke right now. He also understood that Sasuke was radiating a clear 'keep away' aura. If anyone dared to cause trouble for him at this moment, they would likely forfeit their life.
Mitsuki found himself deeply curious about what could provoke such a strong reaction from Sasuke. Just what kind of relationship did Sasuke have with the Mist's Sixth Mizukage, this Miss Haku?
Sarada and Boruto also sensed that something was off. Seeing Sasuke's demeanor, however, neither of them dared to speak up.
Sasuke walked straight ahead, heading in a specific direction, cutting through Kirigakure's busiest streets.
Under these circumstances, how could they possibly avoid being detected by the Mist shinobi? Indeed, Kirigakure ninja had already spotted this team from Konoha – a young man leading three kids. This particular setup didn't immediately raise major alarms in the Mist Village. Perhaps it was just a shinobi team returning from an external mission. Thus, Kirigakure didn't react instantly.
However, when Sasuke and his group started heading towards an area explicitly forbidden to entry by the Fifth Mizukage's decree, the Mist Anbu could no longer stand idly by.
They materialized directly in their path.
Seeing the two Mist Anbu appear, Boruto and the others immediately went on high alert. But before they could even open their mouths to say anything, they froze completely in place, as if restrained by some unseen force.
Sasuke paid the two Anbu no mind and continued walking forward. Seeing the state of the two shinobi, it was clear they had been instantly taken down by Sasuke's genjutsu.
Sarada couldn't help but marvel inwardly.
'An ability like this is so convenient!'
'Taking out these ninja so easily, without causing any commotion!'
'It's incredible!'
Sarada even considered asking Sasuke later if he would teach her genjutsu.
However, while learning basic genjutsu might be simple for Sarada, reaching Sasuke's level would be incredibly difficult. Even Itachi Uchiha likely couldn't achieve this solely through genjutsu against opponents of this caliber. Of course, against ordinary Genin, it probably wouldn't be an issue. But using genjutsu for an instant takedown against Chunin-level opponents or higher, like these village Anbu, was generally considered impossible.
Yet Sasuke could effortlessly incapacitate even standard Jonin with his genjutsu, let alone Chunin.
Other Anbu monitoring the situation from the shadows saw what happened to their comrades and grew restless. They immediately converged on Sasuke's position. But the moment they appeared, they too lost consciousness.
Sasuke's pace didn't falter in the slightest.
Now, with five or six Anbu falling victim to this strange phenomenon one after another, the remaining Mist shinobi weren't foolish enough to charge forward blindly. Something was clearly wrong. There was something strange about this group of four.
Reports were immediately sent to higher-ranking shinobi, and soon, Kirigakure ninja units were mobilized. Five Mist Anbu had been instantly immobilized by some unknown technique. If the enemy had used a paralysis jutsu, it was typically only effective when a high-level ninja used it against a much lower-ranked one. Even a Kage-level shinobi couldn't instantly paralyze Anbu like this! That was precisely why Chunin-level ninja were selected for the Anbu – they already possessed a certain degree of resistance. Even when facing a Kage, a Chunin could put up some struggle. Death might be unavoidable, but before dying, they could relay intelligence back to the village or leave behind crucial clues.
As Sasuke reached a large, sealed-off building, two Mist shinobi guarding the entrance saw the Konoha ninja suddenly appear. The expressions on their faces were priceless.
How is this possible? How could Konoha ninja get into a place like this?
The two guards moved forward to intercept Sasuke's group, preparing to apprehend them. However, as one of the guards stepped in front of Sasuke and was about to speak, Sasuke simply glanced at him and said, "Take me inside. I'm looking for Haku."
Hearing this, the guard paused for a fraction of a second, then nodded curtly. He turned and started walking back into the building.
His partner, standing nearby, was utterly bewildered.
Who is this guy? Does my partner know him? Why is he obeying him so readily? Is he some important figure?
But just as he was about to ask, the next thing he saw was a pair of terrifying Sharingan eyes filling his vision...
In an instant, the guard lost consciousness, standing rooted to the spot like a wooden doll.
Sasuke glanced back at Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki behind him and stated coolly, "You three... wait for me here."
With that, he walked straight inside, leaving the three Genin standing at the building's entrance. Only after Sasuke had disappeared did Sarada snap back to reality. "Master Sasuke wants us to wait here? But this is the Hidden Mist Village! More Mist ninja will be here any second!"
"How are we supposed to..."
At this point, Boruto and Mitsuki's faces also turned grim.
Wait?
How could they possibly wait?
This place would surely be swarmed by Mist shinobi soon. How could three Genin possibly hold them off?
Boruto wondered, "Could this be a test from Master Sasuke?"
"Even if it is a test," Mitsuki replied, "it's far too difficult! There's no way we can pass this!"
Just then, a figure suddenly flickered into existence before them. A white-haired individual, dressed in attire similar to Sasuke's, appeared in front of the three young ninja. He looked down at them.
"Lord Sasuke instructed you to wait here. You need only wait patiently."
"As for the Hidden Mist... leave them to me."
After speaking, the figure turned to face the direction of the large building and stood perfectly still.
The sudden appearance of this person left the three Genin stunned.
"Who are you?" Boruto asked.
When Boruto noticed the man possessed the Byakugan, he was even more baffled. This was the Hyuga clan's Kekkei Genkai! Who was this guy? Why did he have the Byakugan, and why did he refer to Sasuke as 'Lord'? He was clearly Sasuke's subordinate. Did the Hyuga clan have members who followed Sasuke?
However, Kimimaro, the one questioned, showed no intention of answering.
Sarada, standing nearby, looked at him. "Are you a friend of Master Sasuke's too?"
Hearing Sarada's question, Kimimaro turned his gaze towards her.
"I follow Lord Sasuke."
Boruto felt slightly perplexed. This guy ignored his question but answered Sarada's. What was going on?
"Are you from the Hyuga clan?" Boruto pressed again.
Still, Kimimaro remained silent, simply standing quietly. Sarada seemed to understand; this person apparently didn't want to talk to Boruto.
She asked politely, "Are you perhaps from the Hyuga clan, sir?"
"I am of the Kaguya Clan. Kimimaro Kaguya."
