Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 27 : TAMING

"What do you seek, human?" Freyja asked Hazel, her voice echoing with divine authority.

"Oh, you are no human anymore," Freyja mused, her gaze piercing. "What should I call you? Human, vampire, maybe Demon Lord? Decide."

"What you call me matters not," Hazel replied, his voice steady despite the otherworldly presence.

"I guess you are right," Freyja conceded. "Why are you here?"

"I didn't ask to be here," Hazel stated.

"Who sent you here?" Freyja pressed.

"A demon sent me here," Hazel answered.

"Hmmmm, a demon, you say?" Freyja pondered. "If you are here, it only means one thing: you have offended a subordinate of mine, and you were sent here to be punished before you die."

"So, prepare yourself, boy," Freyja said, materializing before him. A brilliant light flashed, forcing Hazel to shield his eyes. When he opened them, he was met with the sight of a radiant woman in an elegant white dress.

Instantly, Freyja raised her hand, palm open towards Hazel. He reacted instinctively, summoning his scythe and adopting a battle stance.

"Oh, you actually want to fight a god? This will be fun," Freyja said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Alright then, if you can land a hit on me, you will leave here with your life."

Hazel gritted his teeth, his grip tightening on his scythe.

"Here I go, human. Keep your head up," Freyja warned.

Hazel unleashed every ounce of his power, but he couldn't keep pace with Freyja's speed. She moved like a phantom, constantly shifting positions, appearing to be in multiple places at once.

Freyja materialized close to him. Hazel swung his scythe relentlessly, but she effortlessly dodged every attack.

"Illusion!" Hazel called out his skill.

"Trying to use illusion on a god? I can easily dispel it, but I will allow it," Freyja said confidently.

Dark clouds enveloped Freyja as the illusion took hold. Suddenly, she saw a young girl, someone who felt familiar and dear. The girl ran towards her, pursued by menacing figures.

Instinctively, Freyja rushed to protect the child, her divine form shifting into that of a humble, slave-like person. She shielded the girl, desperately trying to keep her safe from the attackers.

Abruptly, the little girl tried to stab Freyja in the back. But Freyja whirled around, catching the knife in her bare hand. "Do you think I'm that stupid? I am a god."

"I know," the little girl said, and in that instant, Hazel's scythe pierced her from behind, the blade emerging from her chest.

"Very good. You are definitely worth it. You deserve your price."

"I never intended to kill you, actually," Freyja said, stepping out of the path of Hazel's scythe. Suddenly, she collapsed. "What did you do? I'm not healing."

"My scythe skill is 'Permanent Death.' It works even on gods," Hazel stated.

"Is that so? Then you caused this yourself," Freyja said, a strange look in her eyes.

A searing pain shot through Hazel's chest. His heart seized. He fell to the ground, dying. Looking at Freyja, he saw her body disintegrating into light. With his last breath, Hazel was gone.

His eyes snapped open. He found himself in a dark void, which suddenly flooded with light, revealing a beautiful landscape of trees and flowers. He landed gently on the ground, looking around in awe. Then he saw two figures: a man dressed like the Grim Reaper he had killed, and the woman who resembled the goddess he had just fought.

"Freyja?" Grim said, surprised.

"Grim? What are you doing here?" Freyja asked.

"This young man killed me, so I decided to merge my soul with his," Grim explained.

"Wait, what? Killed by him?" Freyja said in shock. "The undefeated Grim?"

"I can say the same to you, Goddess of War and Love," Grim retorted.

"What is happening?" Hazel asked, utterly confused.

"It's quite simple. You have tamed two gods," Grim said.

"Actually, three gods," Grim corrected himself.

"What do you mean by three gods?" Hazel asked.

"I'm here," a familiar voice said. Hazel turned to see Blossom standing there.

"What? How?" Hazel stammered, disbelief etched on his face.

"Just like Grim said, I'm not originally from your world. I'm actually a god," Blossom explained.

"Since when did you know?" Hazel asked.

"Since I regained my memories of who you are to me," Blossom replied. "I'm sorry for not telling you."

"It's fine. I'm just happy you're alright," Hazel said, a wave of relief washing over him.

"Should we do it?" Grim asked Freyja and Blossom.

"Well, this will be interesting," Freyja mused.

"Yeah," Blossom agreed.

The three of them raised their hands towards Hazel. A chain of light materialized, binding them together before vanishing.

"What did you do?" Hazel asked.

"We just formed a contract with you," Freyja explained.

"We are now bonded forever," Blossom added, smiling warmly.

"Are you guys actually okay with this?" Hazel asked, still bewildered.

"Well, you defeated us," Grim pointed out.

"Yeah, and I know things will be much more interesting with you," Freyja said with a mischievous grin.

Suddenly, Hazel's eyelids grew heavy. "What's happening?" he mumbled.

"See you later," Grim said.

"Bye," Blossom and Freyja echoed.

Hazel woke up in his bed, back in his room. "This system is really making things complicated and confusing," he muttered to himself.

"Oh, so this is your room," Freyja's voice echoed in his mind.

"Wow, everything has changed," Blossom's voice followed.

"It's nice to see things apart from the empty void," Grim's voice rumbled.

"What the f*ck?!" Hazel exclaimed, his eyes widening as the three gods materialized in his room before him.
