Chapter 106 - Ch. 105 - Post-Great War!

The effects were instant. As soon as the message were sent, every devils in the human world stared to retreat, abandoning their posts and escaping.

Vexed, the sorcerers, church members and the angels could only watch in confusion as the devils all instantly vanished from the battlefield.

"We won? Just like that?" Balthazar muttered to himself while staring at the empty sky, where his once formidable opponent vanished to.

"We did." Diorno, who has finally recovered thanks to Balthazar, patted his shoulders and added in.

"A coward! That's what they're all are!" On their side, Santos clenched his fists and yelled angrily.

"Relax, Santos. It's already over." Diorno immediately went over to calm him down.

"Over? It's not over! Why did we just stand here and watch them leave? We could've strike them and finish them all!" Santos unconsciously responded in an angry manner, not knowing the person he was talking to was his teacher.

"Santos!" Diorno's voice quickly turned into a strict tone, causing Santos to widen his eyes in realization and bow his head.

"I'm sorry. Teacher." He apologized with a solemn expression.

"Santos. It's alright to feel anger. And besides, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about anything else. If we continue the war, we're not just dealing damage to them, but also to ourselves." The teacher calmly explained. On the side, Balthazar also chimed in.

"He's right, kid. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's bad for you." With the two of them giving their advice, Santos finally came to himself and felt bad for the action he did.

"I'm sorry."

"….You know, the Sorcerer Supreme used to tell me something…" Balthazar suddenly spoke out, gathering both of their attention.

"He told me 'Don't be sorry, be better.' I didn't understand it back then but I think now I finally know." Balthazar said with a shrug of his shoulders, recalling the time Chamber said the exact words to him.

"Don't be sorry, be better." Santos muttered the words to himself, as if the saying made a ripple in his heart.

"I-I thought you were dead!" Engulfing Raviel, I shouted in concern and relief.

"….Yes. I guess I am now." Raviel smiled softly and whispered silently.

"I have so many things to talk with you about." I smiled and said to him, unable to hold myself back from narrating everything that happened.

For the rest of the time I spent here, I collectively told him about everything that happened.

It didn't take long for me to stop myself and realize that I actually have a life out there.

"Say. What do you think about fulfilling the promise you gave me yourself?" Standing up, I said to him.

"Promise?" Raviel confusedly asked.

"That's right. Before you died, you told me you wanted to meet your mother and tell her not to worry. I guess that burden falls on you now, huh?" With a wide grin, I patted his shoulders and continued.

"No worries. I'll be here to support you to talk to your mommy~!" I covered my mouth and teased him slightly.

"W-What do you mean by that?" Raviel couldn't help himself but blush for some reason.

"No need to explain. I can totally understand you. So here's the thing…" Quickly changing the topic lest Raviel might consider killing himself just to hide from the sheer embarrassment, I added.

"I'll create you a new body. Your own devil body." I pointed at his chest and then continued.

"So how about it, best friend?" I smiled.

"Best friend?"

He looked up to me and then to the finger pointed at his chest before repeating the unfamiliar term unconsciously.

"Yeah. Best Friend. It means we're inseparable for life. I'll bear your burdens and you'll bear mine. I'll take a bullet on the chest for you and you do the same. Like siblings but not blood-related." I tried my best to explain it to him, knowing full well that Raviel isn't exposed to the outside world yet and barely had any education, it was only a few of my vague memories that serves as his current knowledge.

"Like brothers?" Raviel gulped his saliva and asked

"Yes. Like brothers."

"What's wrong with him!?" Kneeling in front of the unconscious body of Serafall panicked and cast all of the healing spells she know.

Just as she was about to venture into the forbidden ones, God immediately stopped her.

"Child. He's not in grave danger. You must trust me." Although his words made her calm, only for a bit, deep down, she was still worried for her fiancee.

Can you blame her? Although she only met Chamber a few months ago but after knowing him and their everyday interactions made her fall deeply into him.

She even sometimes consider abandoning her position as the heir of the Sitri clan and settle down with Chamber in a nice and quiet place.

But she knew that was impossible. Not because of her but because of Chamber. The man she loved bears a heavy responsibility of protecting humankind.

She once asked him why he does it and his answer was simple.

"With great power, comes great responsibility."

Although she's a bit dumb and naive, she could still understand the underlying meaning behind those words.

For her, it meant that by having greater strength than the others, they must also bear the responsibility of wielding it, to use it for the betterment of others.

"What's happening?" Just as Serafall was deep into thinking, her thoughts were snapped by the sound of an angel calling out with a gasp.

Raising her head slightly, her eyes widened in surprise when she saw something incredible and impossible.

A mix of two opposite energies were converging around Chamber's body.

An aura of red and gold were swirling across his skin.

Demonic and Holy Energy were moving and dancing around in a synchronized manner.

"What is this?" Serafall muttered to herself, mesmerized by the impossible event happening in front of her.

Suddenly, she was pulled away by God from behind.

"Little lady. It's dangerous to stay near that. It might kill you." The old man explained with a grim yet curious expression.

Then, to everyone's eyes, the two opposite energies stopped swirling around and instead, jumped out of Chamber's body and formed a ball of pure Demonic and Holy Energy to his side.

Fwoosh!

The small ball then started to deform and take shape into a small humanoid figure.

God could only see the outlines of it but he can already tell it's a boy.

It didn't take long for it to finish, finally revealing the features of the new body that came from a small ball of pure energy.

It was a small boy ranging around 10 years ago, wearing a loose white robe along with a distinct and eye catching silver hair that reminded everyone of someone.

"Silver hair. Like Lucifer himself..." Michael muttered to himself. Loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Like Lucifer? Could it be, he was reborn? T-Then we should kill him before he-" Panic ensued among the Angels and they started considering of killing the 'incarnation' of Lucifer.

"Silence!"

God roared in slight anger, silencing everyone and causing them to stare at him with frozen expressions.

"Is this what I taught to you all? To kill a defenseless child just through your assumptions?" God's heavy and strict voice made everyone bow their heads in shame.

"You are all Angels! The epitome of kindness and justice! Where are the both of those if you kill a small child just because he bears the same appearance of Lucifer?" The more God spoke, the lower their heads became out of shame. Each of his words are like daggers penetrating through their hearts.

"I'm sorry, father. It was my fault for saying it out loud." Michael immediately stepped in to bear the blame, not wanting to see his father angered by his fellow Angels.

"It is fine, Michael. There is nothing wrong in what you did." God shook his head and said.

Though Michael still felt a bit guilty about it but nonetheless, he decided it's better to be quiet on this manner.

At the same time, Chamber finally opened his eyes, his blurry vision slightly adjusting before clearing.

"So I'm really not dead." Chamber muttered to himself with a sigh in relief.

"ChamCham!" Immediately, a dark blur went over and slammed herself to his chest.

Thanks to his sturdy body, Chamber was able to accept the hug without any issues.

Sniff!

Sniff!

"Ah, Sera?" Chamber looked down on the black-haired girl burying her face in his chest.

"Hm?"

"Why are you sniffing me?" He asked.

"Whoy? Ishit wong??" Serafall asked while still burying her head on the chest.

"Not….exactly." Chamber could only mentally sigh and accept it. It's not like he's the one in disadvantage here and besides, he doesn't smell. He's a goddamn Ultimate class being to have a bad smell.

"Fuwahh! Good. Then this is normal." Serafall finally released her face and said with a grin.

"By the way…."

"Hm?"

"Who is that?" She said while pointing at the nearby sleeping body beside them.

"Oh that…Wait already!?" At first, Chamber gave it a casual glance however, after seeing the features, his eyes widened in surprise.

"What do you mean already?" Chamber scratched the back of his head after hearing her question.

"Well. It's kind of a long story." Chamber could only grin and say.

"We have all the time in the world, my grandson." God stepped forward and asked with a smile.

"I'm….not getting away from this, am I?" Chamber wryly smiled.

"Well, take a seat and I'll tell you about what happened."
