After chatting with Vivian and the others in the group, Laurent went to take a shower. She figured the conversation had probably died down by then.
Meanwhile, Dave was holding her phone, watching a video the kindergarten teacher had sent—footage of their daughter dancing at school that day. Dave was completely mesmerized. Out of all the kids, he was convinced their daughter was the cutest, the best dancer, with the sweetest and most adorable smile. The more he watched, the more smitten he became.
Then another message popped up on Laurent's phone. Absentmindedly, Dave tapped it open—and instantly saw the group chat from earlier that evening. He read through Laurent's complaints about gaining weight… and then Zoey's comment:
"Behind every woman who keeps gaining weight… is a man who's no good in bed."
That? That Dave could not tolerate.
And honestly, most men probably wouldn't.
