This really wasn't something the good, obedient daughter their parents had always known would be capable of. It was kind of a bad thing, after all.
But in the end, the real issue didn't seem to be about who had put the idea in her head. What mattered was making sure her mother stopped blaming her father. So Lilian quickly added,
"Anyway, Mom, this seriously has nothing to do with Dad. Please stop taking it out on him."
With both father and daughter looking so sincere, Tiffany didn't really have a comeback.
Daniel took the opportunity to put on a stern face and pretend to scold her.
"Lilian, what's gotten into you? The older you get, the more outrageous you become. How could you do something that would make your mother so angry? Apologize to her right now!"
Of course, he was just putting on a show. Lilian knew it, too—she shot her father a cheeky wink before turning to Tiffany and apologizing with mock solemnity.
