As Isabella heard Mr. White's proposal, her pulse raced. She was taken aback by his proposal. "Mr. White, I'm not sure if I'm interested," she said, making an effort to appear composed.
"You're wrong, Isabella. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. I will be your immediate supervisor, and I will see to it that you are well taken care of. You won't be sorry," Mr. White stated in a convincing tone.
Uncertain of what to do, Isabella hesitated. She didn't want to get embroiled in any dubious activities, but she couldn't resist Mr. White's offer. She considered her current predicament—being pregnant and alone—and found herself drawn to the protection that Mr. White's proposal provided.
I'll give it some thought, Mr. White. Isabella tried to buy some time by saying, "I'll get back to you soon."
"Excellent, Isabella. Don't take too long, though. "Time is critical," Mr. White stated in a stern voice.
