"Wh-what's so funny–!"
"It's just that…your hands look alot like mine!"
"What do you…"
He began to unwrap the arm wrap on his right arm, as he set her hands down on her lap. She watched curiously as he finally pulled off the wrap. Her eyes widened as she looked at his arm, which was scarred from top to bottom. She gasped at the sight.
"No wonder you wear these…"
"Well, they're to protect them so I don't get any more scars, hehe."
"But, you already have so many…aren't you scared of showing them…?"
"Why would I be? Scars tell a story, that's what my old man used to tell me."
"Like your father…?"
"Mmm…somethin' like that. More like "literally" an old man."

"Stop squirmin' kid! If you move anymore, it'll hurt a lot worse."
"I can't! It hurts!"
Dante squirmed in his seat as Bernard tried to keep him still as he applied bandages to his arm. The rustling of the seat was heard under the loud laughs of the townspeople within the bar.
"That's what happens when you take stupid bets."
"Seriously, what were you thinkin' trying to take on a boar?"
"You can barely hold a sword kiddo."
Dante glared at the local bar goers and growled at them. Leaving them with faces of gestured fear as they laughed at his reaction, causing him to get even more flustered. Rita approached the two and rubbed his head.
"Just because you started your training, doesn't mean you attack the first thing you see. You could've gotten yourself killed, Dove."
"I just-"
"I know, but you don't have anything to prove to those guys. You'll be skilled enough to take down whatever stands in your way in the future. Just gotta stick with it."
"I know…"
She rubbed his head before Bernard was able to finish off his care. He let out a small groan as he stood up from his position and looked over the newly bandaged arm.
"You should heal up just fine, though it seemed to get you pretty good."
"I looked away for one second, and then it got me in the gut…"
"Well, make sure to watch your surroundings next time kid. I won't be able to take care of you every time somethin' happens to you."
"Heard."
He pouted as the group laughed together and continued to give him advice on how to take down a boar instead of letting the opposite happen. Bernard and Rita couldn't help but smile as he seemed to really be taking the advice well. The memory sat well in Dante's mind as he learned a great deal from those situations.
