Chapter 25 - Chp 23: Mass Cleansing.

In one of the major cities of Slane Theocracy, ruled by a Marquis called Postio.

Hyortr masquerading as The Saint, gathered the mass once more, after the 'debate' against the bishop of the Light Scripture.

Once again he stood before the mass on the platform as he solemnly waited for the Infected to be brought towards him.

His hands behind his back, beside him stood a new figure that wasn't present before, infact never had anyone heard of this person accompanying him at all.

The person behind him was a tall, athletically built lady, one that could pass off as an Assassin if not for her nun atire and rosary on her neck.

She was a gothic nun, if the inhabitants of the new world knew what gothic meant. Her long wine red hair cascaded down her back, ending in uneven, jagged but at the same time in an elegant way.

She wore a distinctive coif-like headpiece similar to a nun's veil stylized with asymmetrical cuts and red linings, emphasizing her unconventional nature.

Paired with her religious but practical dress, stockings, and light armour gaurds gave off the nature that she was a warrior.

A small frown seemed to be always stuck on her pale but otherwise beautiful face, giving off cold and distant nature.

When asked by Postio the Marquis about her identity from the saint, he merely replied that she was a Nun of the Church of Ainz Ooal Gown.

In reality she was an Area Guardian responsible for managing the Temple where Hyortr's residence was. A level 80 Dryad, and theoretically a Secretary of Hyortr.

Until all this time, Hyortr was unsure of how to interact with a character that was almost a copy of the Rosaria from genshin, which happens to be one of his favourite Characters including but not limited to Yae, Ei, Eula, Mona and Ningguang.

But because he didn't plan to keep this matter unattended for long he finally reached out to her. And except for her unyielding loyalty to him and overall to Nazarick itself, she was as He had expected.

Which is quite ironic because she canonically hated overworking.

Having noticed that the preparations are completed, he began.

"Now then, everyone as you all have already been informed by me. I need you all to have faith in The Overlord, the Saviour." Hyortr began.

Even if he asked them to have faith to this new God, he didn't expect it to be to the degree of fanatical, maybe desperate or sceptical for this was their last choice but after this display today, it will surely become fervent.

"Please, come forward." He gestured.

Walking before him were seventeen infected who had a range of symptoms showing on their body.

"O divine master of death, the one who commands life. Please give me your power to help these poor souls and cleanse the curse that has befell upon these who seek solace under your unholy grace." Hyortr spread his hands apart as he looked at the sky.

Suddenly a bright green light shone upon the seventeen as everyone gasped.

"Will it work?" "Oh Gods!"

Soon the light dissipated as the symptoms upon the infected completely disappeared.

"I-I feell well!" "My goodness, all my puss has disappeared!" "My lungs! It doesn't hurt anymore!"

Such exclamations escaped their mouths as everyone checked their bodies for any lingering discrepancy, but upon finding non they instantly knelt before hyortr.

"Oh saint! Thank you! Thank you! For saving me!!" One of them spoke as many more followed his gratitude.

"Please, it wasn't me, but my Lord who gave me the ability to help you." Hyortr bent towards the nearest person as he lifted them up, taking this as a sign, the rest too stood.

Just when all seems to be going well, one of the seventeen Hyortr healed, cried out.

"Wh-what is happening! The rash! It's coming back! Healer what is happening?" The man cried out in a panic as he tremblingly reached out to Hyortr but struggled due to the symptoms having intensified even more.

"This is the result of you not putting your faith upon the one who could heal you. You bore thoughts about my Lord being a fraud, being a coward. Thus is the consequences, had you have given up such thoughts and wholeheartedly believed my words, you wouldn't have to bear this burden."

Hyortr spoke solemnly, not only to him, but to the rest of the audience, indirectly warning them.

"No! It's not true! You cheated me! It's a scheme! You -" desperate and struggling to keep himself sane, with the sudden pain of the newly opened rashes all over his body that stung and burned intensely as well as the ones caused in his lungs, the man refuted.

"I am sorry, I am not capable of doing what you just accused me of. The Divine power is impartial, and it's only condition you violated has nothing to do with this being a scheme."

Hyortr shook his head, showing a saddened emotion as if the words of the man stung his heart.

"Please! Help me! I can't bear it any more! It burnss!" The man then pleaded.

"I am sorry....once someone has been affected by the spell, the potency doesn't remain with the second time it is cast." Hyortr spoke.

"Please! Just end this pain! I beg youuu!"

"*Sigh* Oh Merciful Lord. Please forgive this child for his sins and let him witness your Magnanimousness. " Hyortr spoke as another green light enveloped the man, but this time the glow seemed to dim a bit.

After the glow ended, the man's body still had rashes but it wasn't fresh with red and pink flesh constantly melting, it seemed to have stayed in a healing state.

"The pain...it has lightened.." the man sighed out in relief, having experienced the pain of millions of needles stinging his very nerves, he was relieved for it to have atleast calmed down quite a bit.

Now, it only burned like someone had given him a fire burn, which wasn't a good comparison to be relieved of, but he was glad nonetheless.

"I am sorry! I have understood my mistake please forgive me." The man bowed before hyortr as he apologized wholeheartedly.

"It's good that you understand your mistake." Hyortr smiled as he looked at the mass.

"Everyone. Please, I beg of you not to repeat the same mistake he has committed, if you are unsure of your faith then I recommend you wait untill you clear your doubts. As witnessed by you all, bearing doubts upon his Divine Grace will lead to far more suffering than before.

This disaster that has fallen upon this land is a Malevolent Curse and any lightheartedness or reservations will not be auspicious." Hyortr declared which everyone now took seriously after the following consequences.

How merciful was this God Of Death? None dared to test it out. Everyone had already decided to either have complete faith upon this God who seems to be their only choice for salvation now, or wait untill they had the courage to confirm they had faith upon him.

The sun began to set over the new world as night came to reign over the sky for the next twelve hours.

In the mansion reserved for Hyortr. He sat in a desk, writing a report of today's events detailing every aspect of it. Behind him stood Rosaria, her hands under her stomach held together.

While it looked to be that she has a stoic face, she was infact inwardly giddy with joy.

'Eeee! Aaah! How fortunate that Lord Hyortr has finally asked this insignificant me to accompany him on his Marvelous schemes! Ahahah! I, Rosaria, am now qualified to be beside Lord Hyortr!'

While Rosaria internally rolled all over the space, jumping multiple times as she danced in glee, Hyortr handed the finished Report to the shadow demon.

"Give this to Demiurge. Tell him that this report details what happened today, further information will be included in it."

Giving an inaudible noise, the demon disappeared in the shadow.

"Rosaria." Hyortr suddenly called out. Jolting her out of her inner dream world.

"Y-yes! Lord Hyortr."

"How does it feel outside of The temple?"

"It feels quite good my Lord. Especially with you Lord Hyortr. Your presence has elevated the enjoyment by a hundredfold." Rosaria straight forwardly answered.

"I see, it is good that you are happy with this. I was worried you might be dissatisfied that I took this long to contact you." Hyortr turned to Rosaria behind him.

"Ah- no no. It's not like that my Lord! There was no fault at what you did Lord Hyortr." She frantically waved her hands, "Infact, I believe it was because I was not worthy to work with you yet that you decided to delay it. And I am grateful that you have deemed this lowly one to be capable of joining you." Rosaria confessed, her head bowed.

"*Chuckle* Is that so? I didn't think you would think this low of yourself, Rosaria." Hyortr laughed a little at her words.

"Eh?" Confused at the sudden laughter of Hyortr, Rosaria tilted her head.

"I hope you will not house any self doubts upon yourself anymore. Until and unless I say so, you are definitely worthy of working with me. You, me and all of Nazarick's denizens are created by the Supreme Beings. And we should be proud of our origins." Hyortr lectured.

"Yes My Lord." Rosaria nodded quickly, this pep talk with Hyortr painted an even more favourable picture of him in the mind of Rosaria as a Wise and Benevolent Guardian and her Lord.

'Lord Hyortr's the best!' She cheered.
