The moment those words left his mouth, my whole world shattered.
It felt like the ground under me cracked open and swallowed me whole.
But I wasn't going to believe it.

I needed my phone.

I grabbed my phone from the table where I had dropped it earlier.
I remembered it got drenched in the rain when I was stuck outside…
