Chapter 59 - Chapter 5 Part 9.3

Griff got her attention, she looked down to see him banging on the door.

Young Striker was on the other side, wide eyed and shocked, he was pulling on the door.

Kate made gestures towards the keypad. And he went to it but it showed that the code she had wasn't working, she made a brand new series of gestures. It was still an emergency exit. That exact situation was why the laws existed. It was still possible to get through.

There was a few things he had to do. First he needed to find it emergency level. It would be anywhere to a obvious but not hidden. Was it here or was that keypad, not incredibly large? It was underneath! But it would to be lifted...

But time was up, there was more light than ever as a crack appeared. New wind crept back into their lives.

If she had ever needed to concentrate on anything she needed it now.

The boy likely had implants and so she'd focus on that.

"No time!" She shouted.

His face widened, not just his eyes.

"I have an idea. If it doesn't work. Look for my Mother. And tell her I love her, but only if we don't make it. There's a hatch on the side, tell no one, it's an emergency safe zone that will be dangerous but you can do it. We'll be at the top and come in from an emergency exit from there!"

There was a roar and then the whine of ripping of glass and a scream.

Kate grabbed Griff's face like it was a door nob and turned him to her.

"We're about to be awesome..." She yelled, "concentrate and move with me."

She didn't even wait for a reaction, kissing him between the eyes and turned him around into their natural walking position.

She watched the light grow and listened to the screech, Kate knew... stuff. She had knowledge and understood the world enough. Life had filled her brain with items, she just had to run all their programs in her head, all at the same time and jump.

The sound changed, things that were once very solid had a knack of suddenly breaking very quickly. She'd learned that from the difference between a fat cousin falling verses a thin cousin falling.

The time she had accumulated was used as she looked at all the real-world items in the space between her and the secondary exit. The one that would definitely be open, warm and cozy.

"Try hold as much breath as possible when we're under the wind, catch a quick fresh breath in any gap. Get ready!" Kate yelled.

The world felt like it had gained new colour, time letting her see every little thing. She focused herself and harder layering her focus, the layers of a cake, adding time over and over again, Kate's eyes bouncing around over and over again. Repeating in her mind what she was seeing.

Then she ran, no sprinted!

The glass burst the world in front of the pair lurched, pushing forwards and slamming down as one despite the active shattering. But they weren't there anymore. They were under the sign. The ca had twisted and flipped ahead of the sign and Kate jumped twisting Griff, right behind it and slammed her back against the car like she was helping push. And as far as Kate was concern, she was.

That did nothing to Keep the car from moving, but that was the plan.
