Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: The order

[Komod harbor]

I had expected the interrogation to be like how officers or guards interrogate a criminal who had been doing a broad-day act but to my surprise the sky-division has their own way of doing things.

"A-A-Alright! I-I'll tell you everything!" the loud shout of agony and pain filled the small room beneath the sky-division's deck. There were blood spilling running down from the chair the criminal sat on dripping through the tiny gaps of the floor.

The man I had chased earlier was strapped onto a chair with compressed metal chains holding him tight in place. I stood by the door frame met with the scene of huge needles were being pushed into his body. It was a form of torture that the sky-division had been doing since their own establishment.

"P-Please stop! I'll tell you everything!"

The members didn't listen in as they continued to push the many needles into his body. From his upper body down to the feet — there were open holes of previous needles that had entered his body and the members did nothing but have psychotic like smug on their face.

They liked it to say the very least. I wasn't sure if it was a kink or that they were some type sadist who found pleasure in hurting someone.

"I told you to prepare before we entered the room" Admiral Benedict spoke, standing beside he had followed me down from the nursey when I woke up to life.

"The sky division has been forming different type of tortures ever since I made this group, handling dangerous criminals mean's we have to reap what we sow". The admiral said in the following line after.

Turning back to his guys he clapped his hands together signaling that they were done. "Alright, pack your stuff... You guys can leave for the day, Me and Solan will take over for now".

The members looked disappointed at his remark and sighed in agreement since it was an order by their mighty leader. Pulling out the remaining needles out from his bodies the criminal's loud scream echoed through the room — Tears were running down his eyes, his face gazed towards the floor as he was sobbing to himself due to the pain.

Once the members passed us one of the men put their hands on my shoulder. "Your not the only crazy one here Solan". The guy remarked with a smile before entering the exit and disappeared towards upper deck.

Why was he calling me crazy? was it because I ate someone-

Before Solan could continue his sentence he felt his stomach upsetting.

Oh, I shouldn't talk about that.

"You good kid?" The admiral asked Solan, unsure if he could handle an interrogation after waking straight up from the events of yesterday.

"Y-Yeah, I just need my mask... Where is it?" Solan uttered, not wanting to speak more in case his stomach would rupture in any moment.

"It's on the desk in cabin, I took it to see how it works... I was curious as to how it helps you with your 'voices'" The admiral exclaimed.

"I-Its made by Sir.Trevon, hell do I know how it works either".

Solan turned to the exit headed towards the cabin to grab his mask. As he walked the lonely hallways of the deck with nobody in sight his head started dir. He's body started to shake a bit and the stair's ahead of him which led to the deck started to deform.

Stumbling onto the walls of the hallway Solan would be fast to realize that 'they' were speaking again.

"Solan~"

"Solan~"

The seas forbid a man having a break for once.

As the dizziness was catching up on him the sudden flood of memories of yesterday events appeared in his mind. At this point Solan wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or a curse(It was definitely a curse) at this point.

His breathing got caught in his throat once he took the first step on the stairs. The fourth step was nauseating. The 7th step was painful, and the 10th step made him realize that his body was already starting to fail him. arrived at the top of the stair-case some of the members stood holding a conversation.

"Hey Solan? you alright-" Before the clueless member knew it a unknown force had caught his throat. Being lifted into the air it felt like a thin string tightening around his neck — Lifted into the air the man tried to grab his neck to get him out.

"W-What the!?" The other woman exclaimed in confusion. Turning to Solan she realized he had his arm raised towards the member meaning that he was the cause of the sudden outburst.

"I-I can't breath" The guy in the air muttered with the last remaining breath. His face slowly turning purple by the lack of air.

"S-Solan! S-Stop what your doing!"

With a sudden snap Solan snapped entirely out of the dizziness. The man automatically fell back down onto deck with his back first. He raised his hand towards the neck to be sure if he still was alive.

"Y-You alright Moro?" The woman asked concerned.

"Y-Yes I think so?" He said, baffled and confused.

The two turned to Solan and looking at him his eyes were shining for just a slight moment before turning back into the usual green color.

"...Excuse me, I'm not well". Solan said before continuing towards the cabin. The little event that had unfolded had made the two members realize something.

'this guy is too dangerous'

Once arrived at the cabin Solan had grabbed his mask quickly in hand before leaving again. Arriving at deck again some other members had arrived, it seemed they were being told by the previous two members about what just unfolded some minutes ago.

It was silent until one of the moment asked out of curiosity.

"You alright Solan?"

It was awkward. Solan didn't really know what to tell, his head was still dirring to a certain degree but not enough for him to lose his composure. "I just need rest, please don't get any closer to me".

Taking a quick turn beneath deck he took his time to attach his mask onto his face. Everything had turned more quiet and Solan could finally took a breath of relaxation.

Entered back to the 'torture' room he was faced with Admiral Benedict in the middle of it. Not wanting to bother the current process he closed the door behind him quietly and put himself to the side and watched.

"So your telling me that most of the locals here knows about the kidnapping but aren't doing anything about it?" He asked to confirm his suspicion.

"Y-Yes, most people here are technically part of the Order, they have no choice but sell of their children to us to make a living... The poverty here in Komod has been entirely hell ever since the marines failed to hunt down 'Purple crab Smokey!'"

Purple crab smokey? Solan's body flinched at the mention of the overly familiar name. The same crab that had wreaked havoc 8 years ago during one of his first mission his master. Intrigued by the mention Solan listened in intently not wanting to miss any details.

"With the Leviathan still around different mercenary vessels have had no choice but to take longer route through the north of Smokey not wanting to be thrown boulders at by the Leviathan".

"Komod is always the last place they sell. Taking a longer route they sell more of their own goods to unofficial places since they barely want to bother reaching Komod city when they can just sell their products to the towns and ports through the longer route".

So that was the reasoning for the heavy poverty here in Komod? It did make sense somehow but the fact the outer sectors of Komod had fallen into poverty within just 8 years was absurd, it meant the island surrounded by a manmade ridges solely relied on transport of other fleets.

"What does that have to do with your criminal group? the kidnappings?" The admiral remarked, his eyes never leaving the criminal's face.

"Our group took it in decision to help the locals with money if they were struggling — even if it's unorthodox and unmoral it's been the only way we could help with the current situation".

"It's illegal to sell children to brothels or makes slaves out of them, I thought the emperor made that clear about 30 years ago". Benedict's expression was serious, it was true that some parents would have to go their way to sell their own kids but... it was just wrong.

"...If what your saying is true then it means the sky-division have no choice but investigate the entire city and it's people, even meaning that some will be executed during the process".

"W-What? You cant just kill anyone because of that?! they are struggling people too! everyone needs to make a living somehow-":

"By selling their children? If you sell your children to become sex slaves then the best decision was to not have any children at all if you can't even love them". The admiral's expression was pissed, I could see his hand clenching for a moment fueled by a slight moment of anger rushing through his mind.

"Tch... I'll talk with you later...". Benedict said.

"...Did you hear that Solan? We have a new mission to fulfill". Benedict said without even turning to me, almost like he knew I was here to begin with.

"..Yes, investigate the people and the city?". Solan replied.

"Knowing how the major of the city requested personally for our help I don't believe he's involved in this, though that doesn't mean he's entirely innocent".

"What do you mean?" I asked curious.

"It mean's we are going to investigate the entire city and everyone who lives here for the incoming week". The admiral explained before turning back to the criminal who was still sobbing in pain.

"This bastard have already told me about his little group's base, It's located in the west sector of Komod, close to the Komod's traditional clothing store. We will arrest the remaining people that worked with him and look for any clues to further investigate the order".
