Kael and the others approached the Iron gates of the Outer Ring, which was heavily guarded by Officials.
They noticed them immediately and readied their weapons.
One of the Officials called out an order and they opened fire.
Kael formed a protective barrier in front of his friends, using the energy from the gem to encircle them.
Bullets ricocheted off, but Elysia and the others remained untouched.
Kael charged forward and jumped, pushing off with a blast of energy against the ground that cracked the pavement.
He flew through the air and planted both feet on top of the gate.
The walkway up here was thin, only about two meters wide. Kael would use that to his advantage.
Two Officials charged at him, firing their guns, their bullets bouncing harmlessly off of the energy that surrounded his body.
