Charles who couldn't believe what he had just heard even though the victim was just venting out his frustration but he was somehow happy. Why is that? Even though he was venting out his frustration, he had disclose some information that would help him in the long run.
He clearly heard him but he thought maybe his interest in him might have made some magical moments including Jae Won talking about a guy he liked and per what he was said it seemed something had really happened between them which could have taken them into a different level maybe from friends to lovers or strangers to even lovers.
But it seemed this person has run back to his shelf hiding his feelings from him and apparently has gone to take a girlfriend instead.
He wanted to hear it directly from the horse's mouth. After much thought, he asked "do you perhaps likes men?" his face curious as if he was disgusted by the idea of Jae Won liking men but in fact he was dying to hear his answer.
Jae Won who had laid out his secrets right in the public ears was brought back to earth and his only response was "huh?".
"I said, do you perhaps likes…. men?" Charles brows raised a little higher so as his voice as he was eager to hear his answer but somehow he had to wait and answer some few possible questions before he was let in.
"I…I… urrm.. I meant….. what did I say?" Jae Won fumbled through his words as he seriously doesn't recall what he actually said for Charles to asked him such a question.
Charles face was written 'seriously?' in a big fat capital letters where the question mark at the end of it could contain a whole page of a book or should I say a whole book of a fifty thousand page from a novel.
'Okay' he thought before he answered "you kept talking about your crush and with the pronoun you used it seems this crush of yours is a 'he' which I can't wrapped my mind around it" after Charles said this, Jae Won's tummy twisted like a twig as he thought he might not want to be friends with him anymore. But he was wrong.
It's not like everyone on this earth is open minded like Samuel or even Vincent who turned to be a heart breaker but he accepted him but here he was with that eyes staring at him as if he had committed murder and the CID is questioning him with a look that could kill him if looks could kill.
"And will you have a problem with it if my crush was a man" Jae Won asked after a whole minute of thinking making Charles sweat like he has been in the sun.
Charles couldn't believe he had been asked such a question. How so, he himself likes men and with such a question it seems Jae Won wanted to know his stance before he truly open up to him which was not a bad idea for him.
"Aheem" Charles cleared his throat before he answered but he made sure he chose his words well before this thing right now turned out to be what he doesn't expect.
"Urrm, I don't have a problem with men who likes men or girls who likes their fellow girls. In fact I myself is attracted to men" the moment he said this Jae Won remembered the first time he visited the hospital with Charles, it seemed he liked his friend.
With that thought he wished the ground would open up and swallow him whole right now at this moment. How can he forgot about it and thought he might dislikes him or feel disgusted.
Jae Won smiled and face slapped himself for thinking that "sorry, I thought you will feel disgusted by me when I had forgotten you like your frie…mn" he closed his mouth the moment he realized he was about to spill the secret of someone who hasn't even told him in the first place.
Charles on the other hand was surprised he thought he likes his friend but which one was he talking about "like my friend…..oh hahahahaha" he finally pieced things together and realized which friend he was talking about.
But what Jae Won didn't know was that he no longer harbor such feelings towards his friend anymore and he didn't even want to change his misunderstanding. In fact he wanted to use that opportunity to get even more closer to him.
"So about your crush. Is he by any chance Vincent?" He asked even though he was on the right path but sometimes asking is the best.
Jae Won lowered his head as his memory flashed back to his pain he was trying to forget. "Yeah he is the one" he answered but what really was happening and what's with the girlfriend he was talking about Charles thought.
"And what's seems to be the problem?" He curiously asked his ears perked up as a rabbit in a fox's den. Jae Won heaved a sigh "I feel like he likes me and I can't see it in his eyes and even the way he kissed me the last ti…." but Jae Won was interrupted with Charles surprised question.
"Wait what he kissed you?" He asked not like a fujoshi whose dream was coming true but a jealous man whose crush was kissed and tossed. He couldn't even hold Jae Won's hand for a second and here he was listening in to his crush being kissed.
"Yeah, he did. And this time he really kissed me like he wanted me and not because he was drunk. Even though they say what we wanted to do without courage is always done with a little alcohol" Jae Won who was busily venting out his heart and didn't even noticed Charles's behavior as he was drinking a vinegar meaning he was so jealous he wished he could lean in and hug the life out of him.
But he maintained his coolness and listen to every word that was coming out of Jae Won's mouth and the fact that he told them to forget what had happened to the point of bringing his girlfriend home. He lost his shit at that moment but he practiced his calmness.
A few hours later, Charles was seen dropping Jae Won off at the mansion after squeezing in some time to drop him off as he didn't want to disturb the driver who by now has to spend time with his family.
But who would have thought Vincent was standing in front of the building pacing like a husband whose wife was in labour.
The moment he saw the gate opened he hurriedly turned to look at the car that stood in front of the gate without entering as he still had his gown on.
A smile crept up on his face the moment he saw who it was but that smile soon run back to wherever it came from because right there Charles leaned in closer to Jae Won as he brushed off the strand of hair down on Jae Won's left eyes making him blink continuously "you need a hair cut because your hair is getting longer by the day" Charles said.
With that said he didn't forget to give a smile and a lovely gaze that sent shivers down Jae Won's spine and also the stalker who didn't seem like he was doing a good job at it.
That gaze was clearly someone who was in love with the object of interest right in front of him and this Vincent saw it all.
He decided to go break them apart but it seemed the heaven was not on his side "pang" that's the sound of him falling to the ground as he tripped with his face kissing the pavement.
He raised his head to see if that really had captured their attention but who was he kidding. Charles had leaned in a little closer than before as his whispered something into Jae Won's ears making him blushed with his his cheek as red as tomato and his ear red.
'What the fuck' he thought but Emelia came down rushing outside when she heard the sound. She came out only to find Vincent on the floor with his line of sight outside the mansion.
She traced his line of sight only to see Jae Won in a car with someone which clearly was shown as they were having a deep conversation for them not to realized someone had fallen.
She helped Vincent up and scolded him in the process "what were you doing to fall like this. Don't tell me you came out here because of Jae Won because you've been restless the moment Jae Won left till now. I thought the person he was meeting was also your friend. Why don't you trust him?" She asked but she was ignored which she didn't seem to have a problem with.
All she wanted to do now was meet this savior of Jae Won as she unconsciously walked towards the opened gate and and knocked on the window gesturing them to open it.
She bend down to level of the window as she gave a smile that could make Charles fall in love with her if his heart was not stolen in the first place "mmmmm….nice" she smirked.
She traced the sculptured face of that handsome devil with a fair skin and damn he looked hot in his doctor's gown "you must be Charles?" She asked her gaze trace down his face to his muscled body and back at the person seated next to him.
"Jae, your savior here is indeed too hot to handle".
Jae Won, "..."
Charles, "....."
Vincent, "...."
