Hazuki grabbed his bag with a deep, heavy sigh.
"Fine..." he muttered.
"But I'm gonna come back and marry her properly one day!!"
Ridan grinned.
"Yeah, yeah, dream big, lover boy. Now move."
Hazuki slumped forward, dragging his bag behind him with a defeated sigh.
"Haaa... if only she was already an adult..." he muttered miserably.
"I'm sure I would've—properly—asked her to marry me."
Ridan floated beside him, arms folded, voice sharp.
"You wanna get married with no land? No money?"
He spun dramatically.
"Are you stupid?!"
Hazuki opened his mouth—then closed it.
"We're leaving this town so you can earn more money fast, dumbass!" Ridan barked.
"If you stay here, you'll just end up doing hard labor for peanuts!"
Hazuki scratched his head, defeated.
"Yeah... yeah, you're right..." he mumbled.
He kicked a loose stone down the road.
Then added, voice small:
"Well... at least... let me hug her one last time before we leave."
Ridan froze in the air.
