Chapter 84 - Post event: DC Comics Sneak Peak

AN: Lacking power stones guys.

...

[4:00 PM – Titan Comics HQ Main Stage]

The buzz had only grown louder as the clock hit four.

Most events had a wind-down energy by this point. This wasn't that.

Nobody left.

Why would they?

The post-event reveal had been teased in bold caps across every token, ticket, and on every screen. It promised something equally bigger, just like Marvel reveal. Something no one had seen coming.

Plus, the free gourmet food, bizarrely good non-alcoholic cocktails, and endless seating lounges didn't hurt. Free charging stations and wifis. Well, everything was for free...

At exactly 4:00 PM, the showroom lights dimmed again.

The giant stage screen flared to life.

Alex stepped into the spotlight.

Black shirt, sleeves rolled up. Calm. Confident. Like a man about to commit a controlled explosion.

The applause rippled across the showroom like thunder.

He waited a beat, letting the room settle.

Then he raised the mic.

"Thanks for sticking around. I know it's been a long day, but I promise you, this is the part you'll remember."

He looked out over the sea of faces.

"Earlier today, we gave this world its first look at heroes who fight together. Who rises up when the world breaks down."

The screen behind him flickered to stills from the earlier trailers... Cap raising his shield, Tony building the Mark I, Thor in lightning.

"But what if I told you... that wasn't all?"

The audience leaned in.

"You've seen Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Now... let's take it a little further. Another Multiverse..."

The lights on stage snapped to black.

The screen went dark.

A single voice, gravelly and calm.

BATMAN (V.O.):

"The world's getting louder. Angrier. But in the shadows... some of us still remember how to fight."

[Beat. Thunder rumbles.]

[Title card fades in: "TITAN COMICS PRESENTS"]

[Scene 1: GOTHAM CITY – NIGHT]

Rain lashes down across rooftops. Lightning flashes. A dark figure perches atop a cathedral gargoyle, cape billowing like smoke.

[Closer now: Batman. Eyes glowing under the cowl.]

BATMAN:

"Justice isn't a symbol. It's a choice."

[Cut to: him gliding through the city, crashing through a skylight, taking down armed thugs. Smoke. Silence.]

[Scene 2: METROPOLIS – DAY]

Sunlight gleams over a bustling skyline. A sonic boom cracks the sky. The camera tilts up.

SUPERMAN soars past. Red cape trailing.

[On the ground, people look up in awe. A child drops their ice cream cone in shock.]

[Cut to: Superman hovering above the clouds.]

SUPERMAN (V.O.):

"They say I'm not from here. That I'll never understand Earth. But I've seen what it can be."

[Scene shift. Close-up: his eyes glow red as he dives toward a crumbling bridge to save a bus full of kids.]

[Scene 3: THEMYSCIRA – SUNSET]

A wide, breathtaking shot of warriors training on cliffs. Horses gallop through the sand. Statues of ancient gods tower over the island.

WONDER WOMAN stands in full armor. Her lasso glows at her hip. She watches the horizon, calm and ready.

WONDER WOMAN (V.O.):

"The world of men forgot honor. We did not."

[Cut to: A battle. Diana deflects a missile with her shield, then launches into the air with a roar.]

[Scene 4: CENTRAL CITY – NIGHT]

A blur zips through a street as everything slows to a crawl. Water droplets hang midair. A speeding car crash is frozen in time.

THE FLASH appears in frame, lightning trailing from his boots.

FLASH (V.O.):

"People think time moves fast. Trust me... they have no idea."

[Cut to: him racing up a collapsing building, catching a falling baby carriage, then zipping out in a blink.]

[Scene 5: ATLANTIC OCEAN – UNDERWATER]

Bioluminescent creatures scatter as a figure swims past, golden trident in hand.

AQUAMAN emerges from the depths, eyes glowing, facing down a massive kraken-like beast.

AQUAMAN (V.O.):

"They poisoned the oceans. Forgot who they belong to."

[He hurls his trident. A tsunami is heading for the land.]

[Scene 6: STAR LABS – EXPLOSION AFTERMATH]

Flames flicker in a ruined lab. Machines spark. Standing in the rubble is CYBORG, half-human, half-tech, scanning data mid-battle.

CYBORG (V.O.):

"I didn't ask for this. But I can still choose who I fight for."

[He blasts through an enemy drone swarm, shielding injured scientists with an energy barrier.]

[Scene 7: LEXCORP TOWER – NIGHT]

Lex Luthor sits in a sleek, shadowy office. He turns slowly toward the camera, face calm, cold.

LEX LUTHOR:

"They worship false gods. I build real power."

[Cut to: satellite feeds locking onto Superman. Lex smiles faintly as he opens a silver box, followed by a flash of green glow.]

[Scene 8: THE DESERT – RA'S AL GHUL'S STRONGHOLD]

A fortress hidden in the sand. Inside, ancient scrolls. Training warriors. Blades clashing.

RA'S AL GHUL (V.O.):

"Civilizations fall because they forget. I am the memory that never fades."

[Cut to: Talia al Ghul, stepping into a battle ring. Her eyes meet Batman's.]

Quick shots:

Batman and Wonder Woman, facing off on a rooftop.

Superman descending into an exploding building, eyes glowing red.

Flash, saving civilians from a collapsing bridge.

Cyborg connecting to global networks through his neural tech.

Aquaman, standing before a throne of coral and bone.

Wonder Woman clashing swords with Talia al Ghul midair.

Lex Luthor, walking through a darkened lab filled with Kryptonite tech.

Then... silence.

TEXT ON SCREEN:

"EVERY LEGEND HAS A BEGINNING..."

Buzzz!

But then, the screen glitched. Glitched hard. Black bars. Distortion. Static. Everyone was confused, thinking that it might be a glitch. There was a moment of pause and confusion.

Then...

A flickering TV screen in a dingy apartment.

A news anchor says:

"Authorities still have no leads on the man responsible for the recent string of hospital bombings..."

A match lights in the dark.

Close-up:

White face paint. Green hair. Red, smeared grin. Purple suit.

JOKER (softly):

"You ever laugh so hard... the world starts to cry with you?"

He giggles. "Hehehe!"

Then starts laughing harder. It builds. Twisted. Rising. Contagious. The sound echoes across the screen

"Ahahahaha!"

[Booom!] A massive explosion and inferno covered the screen.

Then...

The screen seemed to crack. It was as if someone just smashed it with a hammer.

A girl's voice:

"Daddy always said if you're gonna be crazy, be good at it."

Cut to black.

Then a final title card:

"TITAN COMICS PRESENTS: THE DC UNIVERSE"

"Coming soon."

The crowd didn't cheer.

They screamed.

The screams weren't polite.

They were primal. Frenzied.

People were jumping out of their seats, hands on heads, phones raised in shaky awe as the trailer's final frame faded to black.

The screen now displayed only the Titan Comics logo, glowing faintly under the stage lights like an afterimage from another world.

Cameras were rolling. Fans were shouting.

"THAT GUY... BATMAN LOOKS BADASS!"

"DANG! THAT LAUGH GAVE ME CHILLS."

"WHAT IS THIS?? IS THIS A MOVIE? A SHOW? A GAME? A COMIC?"

"WHEN IS IT DROPPING?!"

"WHOSE VOICE WAS THAT AT THE END?"

Alex stood still at center stage, letting the crowd ride the wave of shock. He smiled... calm, controlled, but with a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes. He had them. Every single one.

He raised his hand, and slowly, the crowd calmed. Kind of.

"Okay," Alex said into the mic, his voice riding the storm like a steady captain. "Breathe. Just a little. I'm still here."

The crowd laughed, still buzzing.

"What you just saw..." He glanced at the giant screen behind him. "...is the beginning of something big. Something new. A universe. A story that's never been told before... not here, not anywhere."

A pause.

"Introducing: The DC Universe. From Titan Comics."

A wave of stunned silence. Then another eruption. People losing their minds, again.

Alex lifted a hand again, smirking. "I know, I know... you've got a lot of questions."

Hands shot up. Phones lit the air. People started yelling questions.

"WHO'S THE GIRL AT THE END OF THE TRAILER?"

"IS THE BAT GUY A VILLAIN OR A HERO?!"

"IS THAT WOMAN A GODDESS?"

"WHO'S THE CLOWN?! DOES HE HAVE SUPERPOWERS?"

Alex nodded, amused. "I promise... we're going to tell you everything. But not today."

A groan echoed through the crowd like a shared heartbreak.

"I know. But come on... Wouldn't you rather live the mystery for a bit?"

A cheer rose. Not as loud as before, but this time it was anticipation. Hunger.

Alex continued, "Here's what I can say. Every character you just saw? They each have a story. A journey. A reason to fight. Some are born heroes. Some... become something darker."

He looked around the room, meeting faces, eyes wide with wonder. "This isn't just about good and evil. It's about legacy. Justice. Power. Fear. Love. Survival. It's about what happens when gods walk the Earth and how the world pushes back."

Another shout from the back:

"WHEN IS IT RELEASING?!"

Alex chuckled. "Soon."

Groans again. Laughter. A few people yelled "Tease!"

He raised his brows, smiling. "Guilty."

Then he gestured to the screen. "If you want to be the first to see what's next... trailers, character reveals, concept art, launch schedules... Well, follow @TitanComics on every platform. We'll be dropping teasers very soon."

Cameras flashed. Phones typed furiously. Some were already on the site, refreshing the page like their lives depended on it.

"Also," he added, "there may or may not be a small announcement at midnight tonight. Something small. Nothing crazy." His grin betrayed the lie. "I promise."

The crowd exploded again.

Max, watching from backstage, leaned to Caroline. "He's actually good at this. Kinda hot. Like a Comic-Con messiah."

Caroline just blinked. "I'm overwhelmed. And I think I'm falling for him again. You see his confidence? His smile? Ohh~ Alex." She leaned forward on the railing with a happy smile.

From the main stage, Alex gave one final nod.

"Welcome... to the age of Titans."

...

...

[7:00 PM VIP Lounge Area]

The HQ was finally quiet.

Empty rows of chairs sat like a battlefield after a war... confetti underfoot, water bottles knocked over, banners half-limp. Workers moved around, cleaning up what hours earlier had been the site of mass fan hysteria.

Alex stood in the VIP lounge, stretching his arms as his stomach growled like a villain's entrance cue.

"Haaa..." He let out a breath and loosened the top button of his black shirt.

Then Rachel walked up to him and leaned in with her usual calm expression and whispered in his ears, "If you don't give me a massage tonight, I'm going to explode. And I don't mean figuratively."

Then, with a perfectly professional nod and a folder in hand, she turned and walked toward the finance team to finalize the day's earnings.

Alex blinked after her. "Noted. Terrifying."

...

[7:15 PM – Titan HQ Rooftop – Private Access]

The air was cooler up here. The chaos below reduced to a dull hum.

Max, Caroline, and Scarlett had stayed behind. Not together, exactly, but not apart either.

Scarlett leaned against the railing, still in her post-panel glam outfit, scrolling through Twitter reactions with a smile. Max was barefoot on the rooftop furniture, sipping a leftover cocktail like it was her prize for surviving the event. Caroline was fixing her makeup in the reflection of the sliding glass door, pretending she wasn't trying to look good in case Alex looked over.

Alex finally joined them, carrying a giant tray of delivery food... burgers, fries, tacos, some hot dogs, and a 7-Up, which he had already claimed by sticking his straw in it.

Max blinked at the spread.

"You gonna eat all that?"

"Yup! I'm starving."

Scarlett chuckled, coming over. "So… Batman, Superman, and that laugh. You really went nuclear today."

Caroline slid in next to the food, eyes wide. "People were crying in the hallway, Alex. Like, literal tears. One girl fainted after yelling 'I SAW GOD!'"

Alex, chewing, gave her a lazy thumbs-up.

Caroline leaned forward on her elbows, ignoring the food. "You really didn't eat anything all day?"

"Not unless adrenaline counts," he said, grabbing some fries.

Max shoved her foot onto his lap. "Then you're officially banned from starving. Also, touch me."

Alex didn't miss a beat. He started absentmindedly rubbing her foot while munching fries with the other hand. Caroline stared, jealous.

Scarlett noticed. "You want him to rub yours too, don't you?"

Caroline stammered. "No! I mean… maybe. It's not weird, right? Like, I can have a burger and a foot rub at the same time?"

Max grinned. "Honey, with him, you can have an orgasm and a milkshake at the same time."

Alex snorted. "Please don't give me new combo achievements to unlock."

Scarlett sat beside him, slipping off her heels. "I might need that massage too if I'm staying. Max kept bragging about your magic fingers, so..."

Max raised a brow. "You are staying?"

Scarlett gave a knowing look. "And let you girls have all the fun?"

Caroline blinked. "Wait. Are we all staying the night?"

Alex shrugged. "I do have seven empty rooms, a theater, two hot tubs, and a full spa downstairs."

Max smirked. "Say less, Daddy."

Caroline blushed. "Stop calling him that in front of Scarlett."

Scarlett looked amused. "It's okay. But why the hell do you have hot tubs and a spa in a comic HQ?"

"Because I can?" Alex smirked before sipping on his soda.
