Chapter 149 - Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [149]

Right now, the situation with Daram absolutely cannot be exposed. If I were to let you go out and have some fun... soon, the entire galaxy would be spreading rumors about a new Khorne Greater Daemon joining forces with a Slaanesh Daemon to attack Commorragh!

Commorragh is essentially a major trading hub within the galaxy, a den of vice, filled with people of all kinds of species, so news travels fast here. The way the Dark Giants fight is extremely brutal, completely different from the Warriors of Light. And if Daram fights using his strength as his main approach, it'll be even more savage.

"Ah, what a pity, Master! To be honest, I've been holding back for quite a while now—I want to stretch my limbs and get some action in!" Daram sighed as he spoke.

"If you're feeling lonely and itching for a fight, do you see that purple guy over there? When he comes back, you can spar with him for a bit," Rhodes said, pointing to the Ace Slaanesh Killer who was wreaking havoc in Commorragh below.

"Oh, this guy seems like a formidable opponent. His appearance reminds me of Hudram, but his strength is nothing to scoff at," Daram said with some excitement, clapping his fists together.

Rhodes smiled and nodded, then took Daram back to the spaceship. By this time, Rhodes' system gold count had already reached 500,000.

The armor on the Dark Giant Daram could also be upgraded—up to three times. However, the first upgrade required 10,000 gold, the second 50,000, and the third 100,000 system gold. This armor could also be acquired for free twice. The armor worn by the Dark Giants was unlikely to be of poor quality.

As for the Slaanesh Killer outside, once the upgrades were used up, Rhodes planned to call him back. The defense force in Commorragh was still quite strong, even though the Slaanesh had been rampaging for hours. Despite causing heavy casualties among the Dark Eldar, this was still their home turf!

Now the Slaanesh Killer was being surrounded by a large number of Dark Eldar forces. Even some Corsairs and Harlequins had joined the fray. Rhodes' Miklas and Gomora had even joined the siege lineup.

However, those two monsters couldn't fly, so they could only fire off some long-range energy attacks, which even accidentally injured some Eldar units.

As for the Commorragh arena and harvesting Dark Eldar, Rhodes had been preparing for that recently. He used the monster capsule left by Miklas to store Gomora, then lent it to Lady Malys for her to give to Yvraine.

Meanwhile, Miklas was handed over to Lelith. These two crazy women would later replace Rhodes in hosting a giant monster battle in the arena.

It seemed even these two women had joined the siege lineup, as Rhodes' communicator was now beeping.

["Lord Loki, where are you? A Slaanesh Greater Daemon—or rather, a rampaging Daemon Prince—is attacking Commorragh. The good news is that it hasn't yet destroyed the Gate of Khaine and opened a Warp rift to release more daemons. It's currently cornered in a single district. Please send flying units for support immediately! Miklas and Gomora are ineffective against it,"] Lady Malys said.

The communicator was something she had taken from Lelith, who was currently commanding the Dark Eldar forces to besiege the Slaanesh Killer.

"I understand. I'll send a few flying units right away," Rhodes replied with a smile.

He immediately deployed Melba, King Joe Black, and Bemstar—three giant monsters—to join the siege on the Slaanesh Killer.

Well, it was you guys who asked for my help, Rhodes thought. After those three monsters joined, they caused some collateral damage, but surely that could be forgiven. For example, the Pedanium Beam Cannon accidentally hit and killed some Dark Eldar. Bemstar's absorption ability and yellow lightning also accidentally injured some friendly Dark Eldar units. Melba, unable to hold its own in battle, got slashed and fell, crushing a group of Dark Eldar. That seemed reasonable, right?

...

Several more hours passed. Rhodes even personally went to the battlefield to supervise his four giant monsters putting on their performance. He even allowed the Slaanesh Killer to land on the ground so that Miklas and Gomora could join in for some fun.

When giant monsters fight, they don't hold back—and when several of them fight at once, it's utter chaos. The entire district of Commorragh was in shambles, with countless buildings reduced to rubble.

More and more Dark Eldar joined the battle, bringing increasingly powerful weapons. Rhodes knew it was about time to wrap things up. Most of the basic upgrades had been exhausted. By now, the Slaanesh Killer had grown to over 50 meters tall and had reached its weight limit through constant strengthening. The only things left unenhanced were its Metallium Beam and Slaanesh powers.

With the help of the other giant monsters, Rhodes' system gold count saw another surge. Later, Red King, Golza, and several other monsters joined the fray. The entire district of Commorragh was overrun by giant monsters, leaving destruction in their wake.

The spectacular battle began, and the colossal monsters fought relentlessly for over ten hours. In the end, the Slaanesh Killer was subdued by Miklas and Bemstar.

After taking a heavy punch from Red King, Gomora unleashed a super shockwave that obliterated the enemy into a burst of light, disappearing completely. Finally, the great battle was over!

"We've won! We've defeated that daemon!"

"Damn Slaanesh! We've conquered its great fiend!"

"We've annihilated a giant Slaanesh fiend!"

"This was an unprecedented Slaanesh fiend!"

Countless Dark Eldar cheered atop the ruins. After nearly a full day of fighting, they had finally taken down the foe.

Rodes silently checked his system. His gold had surged to over 1 million, meaning this battle alone had wiped out at least 300,000 Dark Eldar.

"What a bargain!" Rhodes thought to himself. "And it only took one day and night."

However, such a harvest could only happen occasionally. If they attacked too frequently, the defenses of Commorragh City would strengthen, and the Slaanesh Killer would quickly be confined to a limited area, making it impossible to kill so many.

This time, the success was primarily due to a surprise attack. Most importantly, harvesting had to be done in waves. The crops couldn't all be cut in one go—sustainable development was the key.

"We're so grateful for your assistance, Lord Loki. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to handle this Slaanesh fiend. If it had destroyed the Khaine's Gate, the consequences would've been unimaginable," Lady Malys said as she approached Rhodes.

Ordinary Titan units couldn't even get close to that purple fiend. It was fortunate that Lord Loki had deployed his massive creatures to assist in the battle.

"After all, I reside in Commorragh City as well. It's my duty. However, it seems the city's leader went into hiding," Rhodes replied.

Rhodes was, of course, referring to the leader of the Kabal Blackheart, Vect. This guy usually threw his weight around in Commorragh City, but at the first sign of trouble, he fled faster than anyone else.

Rhodees had initially hoped the Slaanesh Killer could take the opportunity to kill this coward. Even if Vect would later be resurrected by the Haemonculi, it would still be satisfying to vent some anger.

"Hah, that coward fled to his underground bunker as soon as the Slaanesh fiend appeared. I suspect he'll crawl out soon to clean up the mess," Lady Malys said with a cold laugh.

During the Slaanesh fiend attack, she had taken the lead in rallying the Dark Eldar to resist, even calling in Rhodese as powerful reinforcements. After defeating the daemon, she gained a significant boost in reputation within the Dark Eldar, giving her a glimmer of hope to overthrow Vect.

"How did this Slaanesh fiend even appear in the first place?" Rhodes asked.

"It's rather strange," Lady Malys began. "About a day ago, all of Commorragh City suddenly felt a surge of powerful dark energy. We suspected that some ancient imperial artifact had reappeared, so we sent troops to investigate. But then, the Slaanesh fiend suddenly emerged and launched an assault on Commorragh City.

I suspect this was part of the Slaanesh's scheme."

"It must be a Slaanesh conspiracy. It seems we need to strengthen the defenses of the Nexus," interjected Vect, who had somehow emerged from hiding. Upon confirming that the Slaanesh fiend had been defeated, he immediately crawled out of his bunker to take charge of the situation.

"Yes, Mr. Vect, your guess is spot-on. This matter will require your expertise. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now," Rhodes said curtly.

Who would attend your celebration banquet? Was he supposed to wait around to be poisoned or ambushed? Rhodes was already planning how to eventually deal with Victor.

In Rodes' eyes, the Dark Eldar held little value. To him, only the Aeldari, Corsairs, and Exodites were true Eldar people. The corrupted Dark Eldar would need to be purged after the Slaanesh was dealt with. Their only future role was to serve as a continuous source for him to harvest, reproduce, and harvest again.

"Won't you join the celebration banquet, Lord Loki? After all, we've defeated a Slaanesh fiend," Vect said.

"I'm leaving for the Human Empire tomorrow. I won't have the time—I still have many things to prepare," Rhodes replied, waving his hand and activating a bracelet to teleport away.

"Hmph! Such arrogance!" Vect snorted coldly and turned away from the ruins without any intention of cleaning up the aftermath. This time, the destruction had been limited to a single planetary district. Although some clan members had perished, they were clones, which conveniently reduced the food supply burden.

Lady Malys smiled faintly and left with Lelith and Yvraine.
