"I'm so sorry ma'am if the tests intruded on your privacy." The doctor apologized. "It seems like you're unaware of your pregnancy."
Fiona was barely listening to the doctor's words and bit her lower lips, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to pour.
"How many months is it?"
"It's just three weeks gone ma'am." The man responded.
She almost lost her step as her heart crashed against her ribcage. She leaned on the door to steady herself and began sweating despite the cold air in the room.
"Is everything okay?" The doctor asked as he noticed her troubled countenance.
"I'll go get my drugs. Thanks for the information." She said as she struggled to move out of the room and headed to the pharmacy.
As she slipped the prescription to the lady at the counter, a teardrop escaped her eye. She struggled to blink it back as she took her drugs from the woman. She couldn't afford to cry in public.
