Chapter 138 - Chapter 137: Entering the Underworld

Chapter 137: Entering the Underworld

The neutral station loomed ahead, a massive floating hub on the fringes of controlled space. It was a city of metal and neon, where credits ruled above all else, and allegiance was fleeting. Black-market traders, mercenaries, and rogue factions mingled within its walls, each looking to carve their piece of power.

As the Revenant docked, Raizen exhaled. "Let's see what this place has to offer."

Nyx smirked. "Welcome to the underworld."

First Impressions

The docking bay was bustling, the air thick with the scent of burned fuel and ozone. Security drones hovered, scanning newcomers, while various factions haggled over illicit deals. Neon signs flashed above makeshift stalls, advertising everything from illegal cybernetics to rare off-world artifacts.

Kain eyed the scene. "Feels like home."

Selara rolled her eyes. "That's not a good thing."

Raizen stepped forward, his presence commanding attention. His golden eyes flickered with Draconic energy, and even the hardened criminals took note. He wasn't just another traveler.

He was something more.

A group of mercenaries whispered among themselves, glancing at him warily. A few bounty hunters gave him a long look before turning away—his presence alone was already shifting the atmosphere.

A New Alliance?

As they moved through the station, Nyx led them toward a secluded lounge, tucked behind an energy-barrier checkpoint. The walls pulsed with light as bouncers stood at the entrance, scanning for weapons.

"I know someone here," Nyx said. "A broker. She trades in information—and power."

Raizen's brow lifted. "And we can trust her?"

Nyx smirked. "Trust? No. But she's the best chance we've got."

The guards eyed them but stepped aside as Nyx input a passcode into the security terminal. As the doors slid open, the air turned cooler, scented with something metallic yet exotic.

Inside, a woman draped in sleek, dark robes awaited them. Her piercing silver eyes met Raizen's without hesitation. The room was filled with screens showcasing information from across the sector—political movements, fleet movements, underground deals. She was clearly someone with access to the deepest veins of power.

"I've been expecting you," she said smoothly, fingers laced together as she studied him.

Raizen crossed his arms. "Then let's talk."

She gestured for them to sit, a subtle smile on her lips. "Your bloodline has already caused quite the stir, Raizen Izumoto. The Syndicate isn't the only one watching."

Nyx exhaled. "Great. More problems."

Raizen's golden gaze didn't waver. "I'm done reacting. It's time I start making moves of my own."

The broker leaned forward, interested. "Then you've come to the right place."

The game had just begun.
