Alaric sneered, his eyes flashing with anger. "You'll never take the throne from me, Edric. I'm the rightful king, and I'll do whatever it takes to keep it."
Edric's grip on his sword tightened, and his muscles tensed for battle. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice dripping with malice.
The two men clashed, their swords flashing in the sunlight. Edric was determined to take down Alaric, to claim the throne that was rightfully his.
But Alaric was a formidable opponent, and he fought back with all his might. The battle raged on, the outcome hanging in the balance.
As Edric fought, he couldn't help but think about the past. He remembered the pain and suffering he had endured at Alaric's hands, the betrayal and the lies the fact that he was on Duke Reynard's side while pretending to be loyal to him. He remembered the look on his mother's face as he lay dying, the fear in his own heart as he was taken to be held captive against his own will.
