It had been two days since the debut gala and I had been waiting to talk to Alexei. Yesterday, he was with Isla to calm her down after whatever happened with Matilda.
Dominic took her and now I couldn't find where he had been keeping her.
"What's going on, Alexei?" I asked, looking at his face carefully.
He stood in front of me with his head down and hands clasped in front of me.
"Sorry, boss. I didn't get time to tell you. I saw some movements at our old servants' quarters at night. I was on my way there when I saw Mom running away."
Rubbing my jaws, I moved my neck to release the stress knots. Nothing was going according to my plan. Matilda escaped. Now I couldn't even use Isla to blackmail her, as I was planning to, because of Jane.
It was getting too difficult to reach Martinez or know his plans. Not knowing what Dominic was planning was making me feel like swinging the sword in the dark, without knowing the position of the target.
