Aaron watched the two disappearing figures, the corners of his mouth curling into a slight smile.
After entering the academy with Inoue Orihime, he headed straight to his office.
As he organized his lesson plans, Aaron suddenly felt a gaze on him from outside the office. When he turned to look, there was no one there.
His sharp spiritual awareness assured him that the presence observing him in secret must have belonged to the twin figures he had seen earlier that morning outside the academy.
He shook his head with a knowing smile. Everything was clear to him.
After gathering the materials he needed, he made his way to the classroom.
What surprised him was that, on his way there, the two suspicious twin men did not appear again.
He dismissed the thought and focused on his duties for the day.
Throughout the day, however, he could feel the presence of someone watching from the shadows more than once.
But for him, the situation was already apparent. He simply waited to see what tricks the other party would play.
After classes ended in the afternoon, Aaron declined Orihime and the others' invitation to walk together and instead headed toward the outskirts of town alone.
At that moment, a familiar voice called out from behind him.
"Sensei, wait for me!"
Aaron turned his head to see Yoruichi Shihouin running toward him, slightly out of breath.
"Sensei, where are you going?" Yoruichi asked, her golden eyes fixed on him.
His previously indifferent expression softened instantly, and a bright smile appeared on his face.
"Oh, it's you, Yoruichi. I just finished work and had nothing planned, so I thought I'd take a walk in the suburbs."
"I see," Yoruichi responded with a look of understanding before casually falling into step beside him.
The two walked together at a leisurely pace toward the outskirts.
Before they realized it, they had arrived at the foot of a secluded hill and continued up the trail.
As they walked, Yoruichi suddenly took Aaron's arm without hesitation, continuing the conversation with laughter and ease.
"Sensei, I wanted to ask you something. I'm not sure if it's appropriateā¦" Yoruichi hesitated, lowering her head slightly as she spoke.
Aaron looked at her, amused. "Oh? Let's hear it."
Hearing his response, Yoruichi seemed to grow even more bashful. After sneaking a glance at him, she cautiously murmured, "Senseiā¦ do you like me?"
Aaron's eyes widened slightly before he fell into silence, as though contemplating a difficult decision.
Yoruichi stood before him, her expression delicate yet expectant. Meanwhile, Aaron simply observed her without responding for a long time.
Finally, his expression softened, and he spoke gently, "Yoruichi, I understand what you mean."
"In truth, I've always liked you, but given our identities, this is not something we should discuss so lightly. You understand, don't you?"
Yoruichi gazed at him with warm eyes, then shook her head slightly before speaking playfully. "Since you've admitted it, then that meansā"
Before she could finish, tears welled up in her eyes. She suddenly lunged toward Aaron with open arms.
"I don't care about those trivial things!" she cried as she buried herself in his embrace, her tears falling like raindrops.
"Alright, alright. Don't cry anymore. I understand what you mean," Aaron said softly, gazing at her with warmth.
Just as Yoruichi was about to rest her head on his shoulder, a sharp pain suddenly pierced her abdomen.
A blue Reishi blade, shimmering with a cold glow, had impaled her.
Staggering back in shock, her eyes filled with disbelief as she gasped, "Whyā¦?"
Aaron's once-gentle expression turned ice-cold. He scoffed, "Terrible actingā¦"
A burst of destructive energy engulfed Yoruichi's body, and her form began to distort.
In a flash of white light, the woman kneeling before him transformed into a bald young man wearing a Karakura High uniform.
The imposter stared at Aaron with hatred, his body trembling. "How did you see through me?! I perfectly mimicked her memoriesāhow could youā?!"
Aaron gripped his ZanpakutÅ tightly, stepping toward the young man with an air of chilling authority. "Your performance had too many flaws."
His voice grew even colder. "And you're not worthy of knowing the details."
The bald young man gritted his teeth before letting out a furious roar.
The moment his voice fell, a protective barrier of white pentagrams formed around him, covering the ground and the surrounding area. The Reishi in the air began to surge, converging toward the barrier.
Yet, Aaron moved forward effortlessly, passing through the barrier without resistance, continuing his advance.
Infusing his ZanpakutÅ with spiritual pressure, he swung his blade toward the young man.
At the same time, countless white Reishi arrows rained down from above, shrieking as they shot toward Aaron.
Simultaneously, an overwhelming sword strike cleaved through the air, descending upon the bald young man with devastating force.
A thunderous explosion erupted.
"Boom!"
"Boom! Rumble!"
"Holy Hymn! Praise of the Sanctuary!"
A series of explosions reverberated through the barrier's area, sending dust and smoke billowing across the battlefield.
Minutes later, as the dust settled, Aaron emerged, his body now clad in a layer of bone-like armor, standing next to the lifeless corpse of the young man.
He looked down at the body and scoffed coldly. Then, as the system's prompt echoed in his mind, he gave a command.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained 45,000 Reiatsu!"
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained the Holy Arrow!"
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained the Sacred Hymn: Praise of the Sanctuary!"
"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Ru You x0.5!"
Aaron opened the system interface to review his rewards, his gaze lingering on the "Ru You x0.5" entry.
After a moment of deep contemplation, his thoughts solidified.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, a massive black sword shadow suddenly tore through the air, descending upon him with terrifying force.
