"We should probably, um… draft a contract," Auri said as he rummaged through his satchel for a blank parchment, then paused to add. "Just in case."

From across the table, Wrye raised a brow, the corner of his mouth twitching with amusement. "You're giving me paperwork already?"

"You're expensive. You get paperwork."

"I'm that special, huh? Most people just shake hands, you know."

"I'm not most people," Auri said, placing the slightly crumpled parchment on the table. "I used to work freelance back home. If you didn't have contracts, clients would either ghost you or argue over the payment scope later. It's just... standard practice."

Wrye leaned on the back of his chair. "So you're saying I'm like a shady client?"

"I'm the client here." Auri pointed out. "Technically, you should be the one writing the contract, not me, since you're the one offering the service."
