Liam's expression darkened slightly. "Is your sister awake?"
Noah clenched his jaw, Sophia's earlier words echoing in his mind: "She's been awake for a while. Still as sharp-tongued as ever. Doesn't look like someone who just came out of a coma."
Liam noticed something odd in his tone. "What happened?"
Noah didn't answer directly. "That worker who 'dropped' the barrel at the construction site yesterday—you'd better have your people look into him. Might come in handy later."
Liam picked up on the way he emphasized the word "dropped."
And thinking back on Hartwell and Hilda's reaction last night, several clues in his mind suddenly connected.
"Thanks," Liam said shortly, then turned and left.
As soon as he got in the car, he called his assistant.
"I want you to look into the worker who 'dropped' the barrel at the construction site yesterday afternoon," he said. "Check it out personally, keep it quiet. This could be useful down the line."
