While the three surviving enemies, bloodied and exhausted after their brutal victory over the Spartans, tried to catch their breath among the corpses, a distant sound cut through the marine.
"What is that?" murmured one of them, squinting toward the horizon.
A ship come to view, its bow carved in the shape of a roaring dragon cutting through the waves with fury. The three men froze, not recognizing the origin of the vessel that was approaching rapidly.
"Who are they?" asked one with a trembling voice as he tried to remain standing.
Before they could properly prepare themselves, the Viking ship rammed against their vessel. A huge man with a reddish beard and fierce gaze rose at the bow.
"Capture them!" roared Stoick with a thunderous voice. "If they resist kill them!"
The Vikings jumped onto the bloodied deck like a relentless tide.
"Surrender it will be better for everybody hare." Gobber Said
"Never!" Shouted an enemy Soldier
The first of the enemy survivors barely had time to raise his sword before a Viking axe split his skull. The second managed to block one attack but didn't see the second blow coming that pierced his heart. The third tried to jump overboard, but a bola tangled around his legs, making him fall heavily onto the deck. Two Vikings finished him off without mercy.
At the back of the Ship, little Hiccup, just six years old, watched with enormous eyes, clinging to the edge of the vessel.
As Stoick surveyed the blood-soaked deck, ordering his warriors to collect valuable weapons and armor from the fallen, a soft whimper caught his attention. The Viking chief followed the sound to a small storage compartment near the stern of the captured vessel.
"Stand back," he commanded his men, hefting his battleaxe as he approached cautiously.
Stoick pulled open the hatch, ready for an ambush, but instead found himself staring into the eyes of a young boy, no more than seven years old. The child was huddled in the corner; his clothes splattered with blood that wasn't his own.
"By Thor's hammer," Stoick muttered, lowering his weapon. "A child."
The boy eyes darting between Stoick's imposing figure and the bloody axe in his hand.
"It's alright, boy," Stoick said, his gruff voice softening slightly. "No Viking of Berk harms children."
Stoick settled the boy on a crate aboard the ship, kneeling to meet him at eye level despite his towering frame. The child remained silent, eyes wide as he glanced at the bloody deck of the ship.
"You're safe now, boy," Stoick said, his voice surprisingly gentle for such a massive warrior. "I am Stoick the Vast, Chief of Berk. Do you understand my words?"
The boy nodded slowly, still trembling.
"What's your name, lad?" Stoick asked, offering a water skin to the child.
The boy hesitated before taking a small sip. "D-Doriskos," he finally whispered.
"How old are you, Doriskos?" Stoick asked.
"Seven summers," the boy replied, his accent thick but understandable.
"Where are your parents?" Stoick continued gently, though he suspected the answer.
Doriskos's eyes welled with tears. "They died... in war. Against Imperion empire. I-I am from Sparta."
Stoick placed a massive hand on the boy's shoulder. "Well, Doriskos of Sparta, you're among warriors now. Vikings of Berk. We'll find you a place in our village."
He extended his hand toward the child, the child accepts, and Stoick carry him.
"What should we do with him, chief?" asked Gobber.
Stoick looked from the orphaned boy to his own son. "We take him to Berk. No child deserves to be left alone at sea."
As the Vikings secured the captured vessel for towing, Stoick carried the silent boy across to their Ship, where Hiccup stared at the newcomer with a mixture of fascination and uncertainty.
"Hiccup," Stoick said, "come closer, I want you meet somebody."
Stoick puts down the child
Hiccup, finally finding his courage, stepped forward. "I'm Hiccup," he said while carrying a small wooden toy dragon he'd been carrying.
"Hi, I'm Doriskos" Said the boy
