Darius's POV
I ran through the trees, heart pounding in my chest. Behind me followed Elena, Morgan, and three younger dogs from the pack. The sounds of fighting faded as we moved deeper into the woods.
"This way," I called over my shoulder. "There's a passage beneath the old oak that leads to the safe house."
The Blood Moon hung above us, soaking everything in an eerie red glow. The same moon that watched as the Midnight Queen tried to open the Celestial Gate. The same moon that watched Zeke and Sienna join powers against their mother.
And the same moon that would reveal me if I wasn't careful.
"Kieran ordered full evacuation," Elena said, her voice tight with fear. "The younger ones and elders first."
I nodded, trying to look worried. "The passage will get them to safety while the warriors hold the line."
