The police officer involuntarily trembled but did not let go.
"Mr. Lu, the law applies equally to everybody, and Mrs. Lu has not yet cleared her suspicions. You cannot take her away."
"Oh? What's your badge number? One of these days I'll mention you to Director Lin and have him promote you."
The police officer's expression briefly showed embarrassment, but he quickly recovered.
"Promotion comes after I handle this matter well. I'm sorry, Mr. Lu, without an order from above, I cannot let you take the person away."
