Chapter 25
The air suddenly felt stuffed, hot, and thick to breathe in. Quite a wonder, since it was still winter.
Skylar sat up from her bed and walked barefoot to open the windows.
She dully looked at the street, watching the lights shift from red to white, sometimes blue, from the streetlights and the cars passing by.
An aching feeling kept eating at her heart... second by second.
It was slow, faint, but it wasn't ignorable.
She sighed and walked out of her room.
As she was walking down the stairs, she heard faint mumbling.
"The lights are still on," she muttered, glancing at the huge clock on the wall.
It was 2 o'clock.
Who the hell was awake at this time?
She peeked, then saw Jordan. He was writing in a journal, but at the same time, it was like he was reading it.
"What are you doing?" Skylar asked.
Jordan flinched and quickly shifted the journal behind him.
