Chapter 83 - Do you even love him?

One Year Later

The second I reached the gate, Christian's car pulled out.

I stood there, helpless, as he drove past without even a glance in my direction.

I sighed, mentally counting how many times this had happened now.

Ever since that day I told him to let me go, he'd been distant.

Worse than distant.

He never called. Never answered my calls. He didn't reply to my messages. And if he ever did, it was curt. Brief. Like we were strangers.

At first it felt wrong. Unnatural.

I hated it.

I didn't want things to continue this way, so I decided to talk to him.

I knew he'd leave the house if I told him I was coming home for the weekend. So, this time, I tried to surprise him during the week.

Henry and I had fought about it. He begged me not to go. I still went.

The monent Christian saw me, the instant our eyes met, I knew in my bones that it wouldn't end well.

But I still started the conversation.

"You've been avoiding me." I said.
