Chapter 39 - Granted Gifts

Looking up from her Grimoire, Anna saw everyone else looking at their items.

[Hammer of the broken: This weapon will allow the wielder to get through anything blocking their path by shattering any inanimate obstacle hit.]

[Bonus trait: Will cause the same amount of health loss no matter where the Hammer hits.]

[Crafters kit: This kit allows the user to craft Common class items from level 1 - 25]

[Bonus trait: Will randomly grant any crafted item a magical trait by chance.]

[Spell scroll - Terror wail: When cast, it will cause a disorientating effect that will affect the sight, sound, and balance of enemies within casting range.]

[Spell scroll is a one-time absorption and can only be learned by one person.]

[Belt of health: This item is usually worn by those fighting on the front lines. It grants the wearer a once-a-day use that will automatically refill their health pool when a single hit reduces the wearer's health by over a third.]

[Does not restore health from a fatal hit or revive those killed by a single hit.]

"Well, I have no use for this." (Greyson)

Greyson smiled and handed Anna the Crafters kit before they started talking about what they all got.

"I don't think that I want the grimuar. If I can, I want to be far from enemies, but it would be helpful for the rest of you who usually fight in the front." (Anna)

"I'll take it. I'm going for more of a rogue type, but I would prefer the ability to put a debuff on those I attack." (Kyle)

Handing Kyle the grimoire, he grinned and tossed the Hammer that he got to Mark. Mark had fumbled before catching the Hammer.

"Seriously?" (Mark)

It seems there was a joke between them that Anna didn't know about, but she wouldn't interfere. Justin took the spell Terror Wail while Greyson got the Belt of Health. When the Belt of health was first described, Kyle wanted it, but after finding out it has set requirements for it to activate and the fact it wont heal his wounds he had given up on it so when he got the grimoire he shoved it onto his pocket after the grimoire shrank down to the size of a wallet.

The scroll with iridescent letters flaked apart in Justin's hand, spreading around like glowing dust particles and flashing so quickly as it absorbed into Justin's body. The Hammer in Mark's hand seemed to glow as he focused his eyes on it. Cracks appear and disappear on the box-shaped face of the hammer, glowing with a green light. Kyle's Grimoire seemed to shine in his pocket, and the golden text was visible through his jean pocket. Anna's kit seemed to light up with silver lettering while she held it, as she felt a sense from the item change to her. Her mind knows what every tool is meant to do on an instinctive level. Greyson, who had just finished putting on the plain-looking belt, made a strange expression as a purple glow seemed to form as invisible letters became visible. Before the light show of each item stopped, they all returned to looking like weird but ordinary items.

"That was freaky." (Justin)

Justin stared into space, his hand groping the now-empty air where he had once held the scroll as he seemed to focus in once more.

"Huh, seems like after we decided these were what would be ours, they are now bound to us as growth items." (Mark)

"Is it just me, or did you guys also get an instinctive knowledge on how to use your item?" (Kyle)

"I have to say yes. Before today ,I wouldn't have been able to tell you what any of these tools uses were. Now I know and it feels..." (Anna)

"Strange." (Anna, Greyson, Kyle)

"It is weird as hell, I have to agree." (Mark)
