Third person's POV
In the shadowed depths beneath the old Senate Tower, where light barely reached and the walls pulsed with damp magic, the council met with someone they swore never to speak to again.
A High Sorcerer of the Obsidian Pact.
Banished decades ago for delving into soul-binding spells, forbidden blood rituals, and shadowcraft that twisted even time itself.
"We need Camila removed," Elder Verran said. "Not dead. Silenced. Forgotten."
The Sorcerer smiled, teeth too sharp for a human mouth.
"I can erase her," he said. "Not just her life. Her memory. Make it so she never existed. To the people. To the records. Even to the stars."
But it came with a cost.
Blood. Royal blood.
And the soul of one who willingly walked into the curse.
They chose a name.
Aiden.
Sasha was already manipulating him. It wouldn't be hard to nudge him into the pact under the guise of "protecting" the kingdom and his unborn child.
Except…
Someone overheard.
