Chapter 27 - Playing Games Late into the Night

The air was a bit cool.

It was either a sign of an impending storm or the air conditioning was set too low.

Bai Ningning hesitated for a moment and said, "Yueyue, can you raise the temperature of the air conditioning a few degrees? I'm a bit cold."

She was also trying to change the subject.

Qin Yue smiled.

"Cold? It's okay, it won't be cold in a while."

Bai Ningning shivered and said softly, "What kind of way won't be cold?"

Is it the pure kind?

"Ningning," Qin Yue lowered her voice, calling her gently and intimately, "Don't pretend to be silly when you already know, okay?"

"..."

It's over, this time she's really angry, so angry that a new personality is coming out.

But Bai Ningning couldn't understand; she hadn't said anything wrong, so why was the older sister so angry?

She asked me what I was looking at, and I said I wasn't looking at you—indeed, I wasn't looking at you.

Then I said I was looking at a little loli, which was true. And she's super cute; if you don't believe me, I can show you another day?

Just then, Qin Yue asked, "Is the loli pretty?"

"Pretty," Bai Ningning answered casually, "especially pretty."

"..."

Oh no, it seems to have gotten even colder.

Looking at the older sister who was radiating a chilling aura, Bai Ningning swallowed hard and said with a serious face, "I think we might have a misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding, great, you tell me, what misunderstanding is there," Qin Yue stood up and closed the door, casually locking it, "Did I misunderstand that you were looking at lolis?"

"I did look, but not in the way you think," Bai Ningning thought of a way to explain, "I didn't look completely."

Qin Yue raised an eyebrow: "Not completely looked?"

"Right, she was dressed properly," Bai Ningning looked at her calmly, "I didn't see what I should have seen, and I completely didn't see what I shouldn't have seen."

That plain gaze, that indifferent little face, as if she had already forgiven the older sister.

Qin Yue stopped looking at her and started searching for something, rolling up her sleeves.

Bai Ningning blinked, as if sensing something, and tentatively asked, "Are you even angrier now?"

Qin Yue ignored her and rushed over to...

"Wait a minute, I have to get up early tomorrow, I have things to do," Bai Ningning started to panic, "How about... meow?"

No, she needed to show more sincerity.

Propping herself up, sitting like a duck on the bed, Bai Ningning tilted her head gently and made a cat paw gesture with her right hand.

"Meow meow?"

Qin Yue suddenly closed her eyes.

Hiss... Hoo!

"Alright, since you said you have things to do, I'll spare you half the trouble," Qin Yue said to her, "Surrendering means losing half, so in the end, it's a quarter."

Bai Ningning tilted her head in another direction: "Meow?"

Qin Yue ignored her, turned around, and went upstairs. After a while, she came back with a set of lace cat-themed lingerie.

Bai Ningning was slightly taken aback: "This is...?"

"It was a complimentary set when I bought you the chocolate maid outfit last time," Qin Yue threw the clothes onto the bed, "Put it on for me."

Bai Ningning touched the soft high-quality fabric and cautiously asked, "If I put it on, can I exchange it for a life?"

"Put it on!"

She quickly hid under the covers, rustling as she put it on.

Qin Yue didn't mind; after all, she would be the one taking action later, well-fed and well-dressed.

But if it was just clothes,

I always feel like something is missing.

Bai Ningning finally managed to get dressed, her cold little face slightly flushed as she poked her head out from under the covers, only to find that Qin Yue was gone.

After a while, the big sister returned, holding a decoration with cat ears and a cat tail.

"Put it on."

The girl touched the fluffy decoration and tilted her head, "If I wear it, can I change my life?"

"Put it on!"

"Okay, right away."

The cute little kitten with a good figure was ready, and Qin Yue clicked to enter the game.

Tonight, she wasn't playing Dota, League of Legends, or Dungeon Fighter.

She was playing Nekopara!

Bai Ningning heard that song in her ears again.

"Oh, wash the black belt meow~ wash the seaweed meow~~"

"No, didn't we agree that if we surrender, we lose half, and there's only a quarter left?"

"How are you talking? Be mindful of your current identity."

"We agreed to surrender and lose half meow, there's only a quarter left meow."

"Right, a quarter," the big sister chuckled lightly, "Tonight, only a quarter of the CG will be produced. If you don't believe it, you can open the game and check."

"..."

Alright then, meow.

The long night passed, and after a good sleep, when she opened her eyes, the sun was already high in the sky.

Struggling to pick up her phone, she looked at it and thought, what, only 60 points 11... oh no, she had the phone upside down, it was 11:09.

Not too bad, at least it wasn't noon yet.

After half an hour of effort, Bai Ningning finally got out of bed and got herself ready. Today was the first day of military training for the younger students, so she needed to hurry and deliver things to them, while also changing into something suitable for going out.

A white sleeveless T-shirt and dark blue denim shorts.

Wearing outdoor pants for the first time since her rebirth finally triggered her armor proficiency, and Bai Ningning felt like she had gained a lot of attributes, even feeling light as she walked.

But she still felt like she had forgotten something. What was it? Never mind, let's just go to school.

Off we go.

As she walked to the garden, Aunt Zou, the head maid, greeted her: "Miss Ningning, you look so beautiful today, going out?"

"Yes, to school."

"What about the young lady?" Aunt Zou inquired about the master of the house.

Bai Ningning turned back to take a look: "She's still sleeping in bed."

"It's almost noon and she hasn't gotten up. Did she sleep very late last night?" Aunt Zou asked.

"Yes, very late," Bai Ningning replied, "She was playing Nekopara last night and stayed up too late and got too tired."

Aunt Zou had never heard of this name and was a bit confused: "Did the young lady not take Miss Ningning to play?"

"No," Bai Ningning said with a complex expression, pulling at the corners of her mouth and smiling, "I am Nekopara."

"..."

Under the silent gaze of the maids in the garden, the girl stepped forward with her long, smooth legs and walked away.

Aunt Zou stared at her long legs for a while, then took out a small notebook and wrote down—

[Today's observation report: Miss Ningning's recovery ability has further enhanced, showing innate adaptability. At eleven o'clock in the morning, her mobility has fully recovered.]

......

Upon arriving at school, Bai Ningning inquired about the location of the military training for the freshmen, but instead of going there immediately, she first ran to the convenience store.

"Three frozen bottles of mineral water, floral water, and... a bottle of milk."

She had promised the twin-tailed loli, Xiao Yi, yesterday that she would bring an extra bottle of milk when she brought drinks, to comfort her wounded heart.

Although Bai Ningning didn't understand why she was hurt.

It was really strange.

Delivering items to the younger students in military training was a volunteer optional task, so the front of the convenience store was filled with seniors, and business was booming.

Bai Ningning stood gracefully in front of the convenience store, attracting countless fiery gazes.

At that moment, she finally remembered what she had forgotten.

She forgot to change out of the cat-themed underwear she wore last night.

Don't panic, stay calm, after all, no one can see it.
