The latest Mark of Iron Man resembled a bulky bald brute in Shen He's sharp eyes.
It lacked the refined curvature and cutting-edge flair she expected—no sharp armor-plating with sleek runes, no visible energy matrix channels, and none of the elegant-but-deadly inlaid weapon arrays like those on Tony's Model 78 battle frame. The crimson-gold paint scheme looked like it had been dyed using recycled servant drones from the Attilan scrapyards.
Still, the mechanical armor deployment sequence—instantly folding over Tony's body with shifting plates and pulsing magnetic locks—met her aesthetic standards.
"You clearly lack taste," Tony snapped, flipping her off casually. "Do you know how many people on Earth and off it love my armor? Iron Man's collector-grade holo-figures are the top sellers across eight known markets."
"Whatever. We'll need it soon," Shen He cut in. "Your resources and support network are top-tier. Get it done in two days. That includes stability testing, energy calibration, and resonance sync with external weapon modules."
Tony made a sharp salute and left with a grin, fingers flashing the universal 'OK' signal. "Cakewalk."
In their current high-efficiency operations mode, two days meant forty-eight hours of no sleep. Even with some of the most skilled S.H.I.E.L.D. design assistants and reprogrammed Chaldean droids aiding him, Tony would be stretched—but not beyond his ego-fueled capacity.
Shen He checked the multi-dimensional clock embedded in her comm-wristlet. It was time.
"The appointment with the God Eaters is now."
Summoning Shi and Jeanne d'Arc, she warped directly to the Far Eastern Branch within the God Eater Universe, a dystopian timeline marked by bio-weapons and apocalyptic ruin.
They materialized at the gates of the command center—black steel, repurposed tech, and watchtowers brimming with anti-Aragami mortars. Waiting were a team of seasoned God Eaters, each wielding the monstrous God Arc weapons.
"Heavenly Father Diaus—any intel?"
The atmosphere stiffened. The formation here was clearly battle-ready, prepped for something catastrophic.
The local timeline, as Shen He had last confirmed, was currently at the narrative juncture where Alyssa joined the protagonist unit. That meant the manifestation of Heavenly Father Diaus was imminent.
"Mr. Shen," the commanding officer addressed, "we've located the target."
"Then move out."
The officer wanted to say more, likely something procedural—but Shen He silenced him with a look. She had little patience for their world's bureaucratic slow pace. The God Eater world only allowed an hour of daily integration time, and it didn't provide storyline-linked enhancements to Chaldeans. She saw no point in sentimentality or side quests.
Two days ago, Qi Mu Nanxiong had soloed the base's top-ranked God Eaters to demonstrate Chaldea's strength. Their instructions were clear: find Diaus. Do not interfere.
"Roger that. We'll assign our elite squad to support."
The local commander wisely chose not to provoke them further. For now, Chaldea was a storm passing through.
Shen He cast a glance at the God Eaters, pausing briefly on Alyssa. She was key to this arc. Diaus had slaughtered her parents in the original timeline.
But Shen He didn't linger. She boarded the stealth heli-platform, Teigu already humming against her back, surrounded by Shi, Jeanne, Violet, and the others.
When the craft reached a ravaged city zone littered with bio-wreckage and Aragami husks, team leader Amamiya Gentian briefed her.
"Target Diaus is confirmed to be active in this ruin sector. Additional Valzaros roam nearby. It's extremely dangerous to separate."
"Already found it," Qi Mu Nanxiong's voice echoed in everyone's mind via wide-range telepathy.
The abrupt mental intrusion startled the local squad. They exchanged looks, suspecting illusion or hallucination. But Shen He didn't explain.
Their travel delay had cost them nearly fifty minutes. Time was critical.
Without waiting, Shen He shoved past Gentian, kicked open the hatch, and leapt out—falling nearly 100 meters straight down.
Teigu: Evil Spirit Possession—Activate!
In mid-air, spectral energy erupted around her, manifesting demonic limbs. Her impact cracked the earth as she blasted forward, trailing dust and kinetic pressure behind her.
"You can retreat now," Qi Mu Nanxiong announced telepathically.
He, Shi, Violet, and Jeanne had already warped after her, appearing midair above Shen He's position.
"Who are they?" whispered Kong Mulianhua, voice tight with awe.
"No idea," Captain Amamiya Ryan replied, clapping his shoulder. "But I know they're stronger than all of us."
Their orders were clear: observe and analyze. What they saw defied all records of the Aragami wars.
Meanwhile, Shen He sprinted through crumbling buildings—heading toward a pressure signature that warped space.
Diaus…
It appeared—an enormous, jet-black monster towering nearly 60 meters. Dark-red lightning crawled across its bone wings. Its almost-human face twisted into an excited grin as it recognized Shen He's power.
A wild god—but not mindless. Sentient. Dangerous. Ancient.
"Qi Mu, five-minute kill window," Shen He ordered. "Target the core and wings. The lightning releases from them. Violet—handle the roaming Valzaros. Jeanne, stay on me. I'll breach the main body."
ROOOAARRRR!
The air quaked. Diaus moved—its every step sent seismic ripples.
Shen He noted its size didn't hamper speed or aggression. This variant—a hybrid of Valzeruo and an Emperor-Class Desolate God—boasted high intelligence and elemental power.
Qi Mu Nanxiong struck first—massive telekinetic force seized Diaus's wings mid-charge.
"Jeanne!" Shen He barked.
Jeanne rushed forward, divine light erupting from her flag. Her Noble Phantasm—Luminosité Eternelle—deployed instantly, forming a radiant shield of holy defense.
Understanding the cue, Shen He lunged and stabbed at Diaus's right foreleg.
"That's within lightning range!" a God Eater warned, recognizing the bait maneuver.
Diaus did not disappoint. Red lightning crackled between its wings, converging—then exploding in a column of energy toward Shen He.
"My Lord is present!" Jeanne's golden light surged and intercepted the discharge entirely.
"Ryougi!" Shen He called out.
In the same instant, a crimson figure flickered across the field—Two Rites, blade shimmering with Void Principle, carved through Diaus's wings during the brief post-strike vulnerability.
CRACK!
A clean cut.
Diaus wailed, its wings shorn cleanly.
Amamiya Gentian, shocked, whispered, "Impossible… That bone can withstand tactical railguns."
A giant with no wings is like a lion with no claws.
"Finish it!"
Shen He lunged, Teigu-enhanced arm glowing, and drove her spear into Diaus's torso—shattering reinforced armor scales. She ran up the monster's body, slicing deep grooves into its hide, bypassing all biological defenses with inhuman precision.
Thirty-one total kills and counting…
Qi Mu Nanxiong followed through—telekinetic tendrils diving into the wound and tearing the living core from inside Diaus's chest.
In under three minutes, it was over.
To the God Eaters, it was incomprehensible—like watching gods descend and rewrite natural law.
Alyssa, the young God Eater, fell to her knees. Her lifelong trauma—her sworn vengeance—was erased in a blink by outsiders.
What had all her training meant?
As she watched the Chaldeans, unbound by her world's logic, wield cosmic-level power without breaking stride…
A new thought quietly bloomed in her heart.
